This study surveyed 289 beauty specialized high school students to analyze the relation between beauty curriculum awareness, career education satisfaction, and career decision efficacy. The beauty curriculum was concentrated towards the hair major and technical education for license acquisition, and the career plans were high in employment and college entrance admission. In terms of awareness and satisfaction of the beauty curriculum, nails and entrepreneurship were low (p<0.05, p<0.001), nails were low in career decision efficacy, and makeup and entrepreneurship was low in career education satisfaction (p<0.01, p<0.05). The career education satisfaction was higher as the beauty curriculum awareness rises, and educators had a positive influence on career education satisfaction. The following areas had the positive influence for each section; the school operation and facility area for job information, the curriculum area for future planning and problem solving, and the educator area for self-evaluation (p<0.05, p<0.001, p<0.001). Therefore, it is necessary to improve the curriculum in the majors of make-up, skin, and nails, and effective career education programs should be developed.
A road structure washing vehicle equipped with a 4 HP, 80 LPM ultrafine bubble generator was used to clean a tunnel wall and the surface of the surrounding structure, consisting of concrete and tiles, in a heavy traffic area around an apartment complex in the city. Ultrafine bubbles were generated by supplying air at 2 to 3 LPM and using a specially designed nozzle, whereas fine bubbles made by an impeller in a gas-liquid mixing self-priming pump were produced with an average diameter of 165.4 nm and 6.81 × 107 particles mL-1. Using a high pressure washer gun that can perform high-pressure cleaning at 150 bar and 30 LPM, ultrafine bubbles were used to wash dust adsorbed on the surface of the road structures. The experimental analysis was divided into before and after washing. The samples were analyzed by applying ISO 8502-3 to measure surface contamination of dust adsorbed on the surface. Using the transparent tape attached to the surface, the removal rate was calculated by measuring the weight of the dust, and the number of particles was calculated using the gravimetric method and the software, ImageJ. The results of the experiment showed that the number of dust particles adsorbed on the tile wall surface before and after washing were 3,063 ± 218 particles mL-1 and 20 ± 5 particles mL-1, respectively, with weights of 580 ± 82 mg and 13 ± 4 mg. Particles on the surface of the concrete structure before and after washing were 8,105 ± 1,738 particles mL-1 and 39 ± 6 particles mL-1, respectively, with weights of 1,448 ± 190 mg and 118 ± 32 mg.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate learners' satisfaction with operating Problem-Based Learning (PBL), competency level for dental hygiene, and learners' opinions through a reflection journal by developing a PBL class module and applying it to clinical dental hygiene classes. Methods: The subjects of the study were 31 students in the Clinical Dental Hygiene (oral health management for special patients) course in the second semester of the fourth grade. This study was conducted over the first semester from September to December 2020. The developed PBL learning module was applied for the 15 weeks class, and after all PBL classes were over, the overall satisfaction with the class and the change in student competency level was evaluated. Results: The overall satisfaction of learners with PBL was high, and the level of self-competence also increased compared to before class. In addition, the top three topics (Competencies learned through PBL, humanistic and sociological elements learned through PBL, and obstacles in the PBL) were derived through the reflection journal after PBL learning activities. Conclusions: It was confirmed that the PBL learning module developed in this study is a class that enables students to identify problems and solve them integrally and drives the improvement of humanities and sociological competencies.
Objectives : This study aimed to assess the possible association of dental pain with suicidal ideation among adolescents by analysing data from the 2018 Korean Youth Risk Behavior Survey, a nationwide online survey. Methods : Of 62,823 adolescent middle and high school students in Korea, 60,040 participants were selected for analysis, after excluding cases with missing values. Participants were given a questionnaire about their self-evaluation of health including dental pain and suicidal ideation. Logistic regression analysis demonstrated the relationships between dental pain and suicidal ideation after controlling for potential confounding factors. Results : The proportion of Korean adolescents reporting suicidal ideation was 13.3%. The proportion of adolescents who experienced dental pain was 23.4%. Compared to adolescents who did not report dental pain, adolescents who reported experiencing dental pain were significantly more likely to experience suicidal ideation (OR=1.94, p<0.001). In two multivariate models, the relationships between dental pain and suicidal ideation (AOR=1.24, p<0.001) were statistically significant. Conclusions : Dental pain was associated with increased risk of suicidal ideation among Korean adolescents, even when controlling for sociodemographic factors and other health conditions. It is necessary to consider screening adolescent patients who present with dental pain for suicidal ideation.

Objective : This study aimed to investigate the importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency for newly employed therapists who use sensory integration intervention. Methods : The general characteristics, importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency were investigated for therapists with less than three years of experience in sensory integration intervention. Educational needs and rankings were identified through Borich needs analysis. Results : The competency cluster that newly employed therapists perceived as the most important but with the lowest performance level was "Expertise," and the demand of the "Expertise" competency cluster was also the highest in the analysis of educational needs. The difference in importance and performance in all sub-competencies was statistically significant. In the Borich needs analysis, the rank of educational needs was derived as follows: "Evaluation skill" (5.56), "Analysis skill" (5.50), and "Overall knowledge of occupational therapy" (5.47). Conclusion : It was found that the newly employed therapist using sensory integration intervention recognized professional competency as the most important, while also recognizing that their professional competency was low. Accordingly, education to enhance professional competency was most needed. This study presented basic data for the direction of education to strengthen competency in consideration of the educational needs of newly employed therapists.
Patients tend to return to normal pronunciation patterns after fitting new dentures. However, for some patients, it takes a long time to adapt the new complete denture. In this case, the patient came to the hospital at the address of wanting to remake dentures due to wear and tear. After diagnosis through clinical and radiological examination, the maxillary complete denture and mandibular removable partial denture were remade. The patient complained whistling /s/ sound at the first check-up after placement of the new denture. The anterior palatal area of polished surface of the new maxillary complete denture was concave comparing to old denture, and this was the cause of the whistling /s/ sound. A tissue conditioning material was applied to the maxillary complete denture and patient made /s/ sound. The tissue conditioning material was replaced with self-curing type denture base resin, and the patient was immediately satisfied with clear /s/ sound. As an objective assessment, palatogram and speech analytics software was applied. In this case, a patient who received denture treatment complaining of difficulty in pronunciation underwent immediate denture repair, which resulted in patient satisfaction and improved pronunciation through objective evaluation.

This study is aimed to develop and validate the clinical competence scale of occupational therapy student. The development of clinical competence scale analyzed the definition of clinical performance and previous studies. preliminary examinations were conducted on 203 occupational therapy departments in 3rd and 4th grade to verify item analysis and job validity. After exploratory factor analysis, eight factors of professional consciousness, 11 items of occupational therapy evaluation factors, 4 items of occupational therapy intervention factors, and 4 items of communication factors were extracted into a total of 27 factors. As a result of verifying the reliability of each factor through the internal consistency coefficient Cronbach's α, it was found to be .87~.94 and the overall reliability was .96. The correlation between the total score and the factors of the clinical competence scale was statistically significant. Through the confirmatory factor analysis, the model fit test of the factor structure for 27 items of 4 factors (χ2=.76, df = .31, CFI = .81, TLI = .80, RMSEA = .79) is considered acceptable. Through this study, The clinical competence scale is a valid and reliable scale that can be useful for objectively assessing.

This study investigated and analyzed the contents of writing learning, self-evaluation of writing ability, recognition of writing ability, and recognition of writing education direction to J university students in order to analyze the perception of writing of university students and find ways to improve writing education. Through this, the improvement plan of writing education was discussed. As a result of researching and analyzing the perceptions of university students, college students perceived writing ability as important, and they wanted practical writing classes that received feedback and wrote actual writing rather than theoretical classes. In addition, it was found that they wanted to develop their ability to construct and develop the contents of the article. In order to make writing education a practical competency for college students, theoretical lectures are important, but it is necessary to give enough time and opportunity to write in practice, and to develop customized practical writing. Also, it is necessary to make writing class that students can participate through various teaching methods, and to make writing ability lead to practical competence even after graduation through the method of university graduation certification requirements. This study is meaningful in that it can seek the direction of university writing education through the recognition of college students related to writing.

This study analyzed the trends and causes of the decline in Korean students' positive experiences about science (PES). To do this, 4th to 10th grade students were sampled by grade at general elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul, and then a questionnaire was administered to ask the students about their PES and the causes for their decline. The results of one-way ANOVA for Test for Indicators of Positive Experiences about Science (TIPES) revealed that there were no statistically significant differences according to grade and school level in the overall mean of TIPES scores. However, the results were slightly different for each sub-component. That is, in 'science academic emotion,' the mean of elementary school students was statistically significantly higher than that of middle school students. In addition, the mean of 4th graders was significantly higher than the mean of middle school 1st graders, middle school 3rd graders, and high school 1st graders, respectively. The mean of high school students was statistically significantly higher than that of middle school students in 'science-related career aspiration.' In the 'science-related self-concept', 'science learning motivation,' and 'science-related attitude,' the differences in scores according to grade and school level were not statistically significant. The main causes of the decline in each sub-components of PES were somewhat different depending on the school level. Based on these results, the ways to improve students' PES were sought according to grade and school level.

The current study was conducted to understand the status of infection management through a survey on the status of awareness and performance of infection management and to improve efficient infection management and education programs of workers in long-term care institutions. The subjects of the study were 134 workers at 35 long-term care institutions in the C region, and data were collected from July 12 to 30, 2021. They agree to participate in research self reported structured questionnaire by SPSS program ver. 22.0. As a result of the study, the subject's awareness of infection management appeared to be a difference in accordance with occupation (F=3.181, p=.032) and education experience (F=6.372, p=.013). Also, factors influencing the subject's performance of infection management were occupation (F=3.972, p=.010) and education experience (F=4.403, p=.038). The relationship between awareness of infection management and performance resilience fined out a significantly positive correlation (r=.919, p<.001). As a result, for patient safety in long-term care institutions in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, it is very important for workers not only to recognize the importance of infection management but also to directly perform infection management activities. To this end, regardless of the size of the institution, it is necessary to prepare a systematic and continuous curriculum by occupation and educational topic, and to legally strengthen the evaluation system to improve the quality of the infection management system.
