The RAK has in general adopted the provisions of the paris principles to a far greater extent than many other cataloguing codes. And the analyses confirm that the determination of the main entries in German cataloging rules is a rather complex process and one which can result in inconsistent, arbitrary decisions. And the selection of the main entry requires a considerable amount of decision making which is time-consuming and costly. From the point of view of computers, all entries are equal as points of retrieval. In light of the above considerations the most important recommendation to be made is that the main entry principle be abandoned from cataloging theory and practice and be replaced by the title entry. It would eliminate the need for personal judgments required by the present rule. In so doing, it would bring uniformity and Standardization to cataloging practice. Use of the title entry would reduce the time and effort spent on the selection of the main entry which serves no important purpose in the catalog. Therefore title entry is more developed finding device than author entry in direct approach for document retrieval.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the selection difference of mathematical problem solving strategy by mathematical learning style, that is, the intellectual, emotional, and physiological factors of students, to allow teachers to instruct the mathematical problem solving strategy most pertinent to the student personality, and ultimately to contribute to enhance mathematical problem solving ability of the students. The conclusion of the study is the followings: (1) Students who studies with autonomous, steady, or understanding-centered effort was able to solve problems with more strategies respectively than the students who did not; (2) Student who studies autonomously or reconfirms one's learning was able to select more proper strategy and to explain the strategy respectively than the students who did not; and (3) The differences of the preference to the strategy are variable, and more than half of the students were likely to select frequently the strategy 'to use a formula or a principle' regardless of the learning style.

To maintain the stability during the operation of railway vehicle, the perfect installation of rail, namely the orbit as well as the performance of the railway vehicle itself is required. The orbit of railway needs the intensity and elasticity that stands the shock and vibration due to the weight of the railway vehicle enough, Also, the driving safety during the operation of vehicle should be guaranteed, comfortable feeling of the passenger should be maintained, and the influence of the noise and vibration to the environs should be minimized. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a program that calculates the change of construction cost according to the selection of railway orbit. This study introduces the orbit design automation program according to the selection of railway orbit, and discuss the principle and the way to use of the program.

This paper presents an observer-based robust controller for constant reference tracking of linear time invariant systems with polytopic model uncertainties. To this end, this paper not only designs a robust integral controller gain but also suggests how to determine the robust observer gain and the observer model used in the observer. Since the observer model selection is not obvious due to the polytopic uncertainties, particular attention needs to be paid to that. This paper computes the robust controller and observer gains first. Then, the observer model is selected in a way that the whole closedloop is stable and LMIs are used in the middle of choosing the gains and observer model. Simulation examples show that the proposed observer-based feedback control successfully achieves robust reference tracking.

Human Resource Management (HRM) performs numerous activities in organizations including employee recruitment, selection, placement, job analysis, training and development, and labor relations. POSCO (Pohang Steel Company) has concerned with employee management related to job placement and analysis among these activities because of the problems of over-complexity of placement precedures for the variety of recruits, the frequency of selection, a large amount of job descriptions / specifications, and their changes. This study, as a phase of developing the entire HRM systems in the organization, briefly summarizes the preliminary information related and describes an implementation of expert system as a means for effective job placement based on the principle of right-person-in-right-place with identifying aptitudes and personalities of employees. Thus, a new approach for developing a job description/specification using a formal specification language like Z is also proposed. The result of this study will cultivate the performance of personnel, prevent conflicts between labor and management, promote overall productivity of organization, as well as helpfully verify job analysis.

The telecommunications market in European Union was fully liberalized as schedule except some member countries on and after January 1, 1998. The full liberalization of telecommunications market which will provide lower charges and various services to consumers. At present, the monopoly on voice telephony services is being maintained in five member countries authorized the implementation delay of liberalization. There are still remain many problems, such as pre-selection of carriers, number portability and interconnection, to solve by January 1, 2000. After examining the basic principle of telecommunication regulations and the liberalization trends of EU countries, we review the future assignments and prospects of European Union. finally we suggest implications for telecommunication policy and carriers in Korea.

Form requirements particularly for arbitration clauses are widely perceived as an obstacle for efficiently resolving disputes on an international level. The paper discusses the recent suggestion that the freedom of form principle under Art. 11 CISG extended to arbitration, forum selection, or choice of law clauses in international sales contracts and thus superseded any and all formal requirements in this regard. After analysing national and international form requirements with regard to said clauses, the authors elaborate that while dispute clauses are indeed encompassed by the CISG's scope of application, freedom of form under the CISG was neither intended to nor should it apply to dispute clauses. This result is further confirmed by the interplay of the CISG with other international conventions, first and foremost the 1958 New York Convention, as well as a careful analysis of the so called most-favourable-law-approach.

Although, in general, the random fluctuation of interest rates gives a limited impact on portfolio optimization, their stochastic nature may exert a significant influence on the process of selecting the proportions of various assets to be held in a given portfolio when the stochastic volatility of risky assets is considered. The stochastic volatility covers a variety of known models to fit in with diverse economic environments. In this paper, an optimal strategy for portfolio selection as well as the smoothness properties of the relevant value function are studied with the dynamic programming method under a market model of both stochastic volatility and stochastic interest rates.

A genetic analysis of reproductive characters of masu salmon at three year classes was described. the reproductive performance of masu salmon spawning at 2 years of age was analyzed using data number fertility hatchability and growth traits to the juvenile stage. The phenotypic correlations among the traits were also estimated. it was determined that egg volume was the principle deter-minant of egg number and that the relationship of number to size was negative. It is recommended that selection for egg size be included in all selection programs and egg number be ignored in any welection program designed to increase body size. Phenotypic correlations between body size of parents and egg traits as well as between body size of offspring and egg traits were not significantly positive or negative magnitude at three year classes.
