  • A circuit model for the transition of stripline to dual slotline and a segmented method to analyze a notch antenna are presented. For the circuit model of the transition, the characteristic impedance, dispersions, and the shorted impedance of dual slotline are calculated and approximated with the closed-form expressions. The segmented analysis method allows to get readily an optimized results for the dual slotline-fed notch antenna. As a design example, a notch antenna is segmented into a 4'h order Marchand balun and a dual slot 134 notch antenna, and tested to show the validity of the proposed circuit model.

  • The purpose of the study was to segment home-shoppers by the Mixture model and to examine the characteristics of the segmented markets. Total 700 copies of questionnaires were distributed to home-shoppers more than 19 years old in Seoul and Busan and analyzed 638 copies with the Mixture model using LatentGold Program. The results of the study were as follows: In the segmented market 1, women in forties and housewives with a lowly educated person purchased for the most part from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M and the study named them as the average home shopping purchaser group. In the segmented market 2, men in twenties and students with a highly educated person often purchased with a small amount of money at 6, 7, 12 P.M and the study named them as the high-satisfaction frequent group purchasing a few goods. In the segmented market 3, professional men in forties with a highly educated person rarely purchased with a lot of amount of money from 8 P.M to 11 P.M and the study named them as low-satisfaction rare group purchasing not a few goods. Marketing strategies and discussion were suggested in detail.

  • In this study, a segmented model with Upside-Down bathtub shaped failure intensity for a repairable system are proposed under the assumption that the occurrences of the failures of a repairable system follow the Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process. The proposed segmented model is the compound model of S-PLP and LIP (Segmented Power Law Process and Logistic Intensity Process), that fits the separate failure intensity functions on each segment of time interval. The maximum likelihood estimation is used for estimating the parameters of the S-PLP and LIP model. The case study of system A shows that the S-PLP and LIP model fits better than the other models when compared by AICc (Akaike Information Criterion corrected) and MSE (Mean Squared Error). And it also implies that the S-PLP and LIP model can be useful for explaining the failure intensities of similar systems.

  • The field of sheet metal forming using press technology has become essential in modern mass production systems. Draw bead is often used to enhance formability. However, optimal draw bead design often requires excessive time and cost due to iterative experimentation and sometimes results in some defects. Given these challenges, there is a need to enhance formability by introducing segmented blank holders without draw beads. In this paper, the feasibility of a localized holding strategy using segmented blank holders is evaluated without the use of draw beads. The possibility for improving the formability was evaluated by utilizing a combination of the forming limit diagram and the wrinkle pattern-based defect indicators. Artificial neural networks were used for predicting defect indicators corresponding to arbitrary input holding forces and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm is used to find optimum blank holder forces yielding better defect indicators than the original process with drawbeads. Using optimum holding forces obtained from the proposed procedure, the stamping process with the segmented blank holders can yield better formability than the conventional process with drawbeads.

  • In this paper, we present few technical notes about the distance distribution paradigm for Mosaab-metric using 1, 2, and 3 grams feature extraction techniques to analyze composite data points in high dimensional feature spaces. This technical analysis will help the specialist in bioinformatics and biotechnology to deeply explore the biodiversity of influenza virus genome as a composite data point. Various technical examples are presented in this paper, in addition, the integrated statistical learning pipeline to process segmented genomes of influenza virus is illustrated as sequential-parallel computational pipeline.

  • Segmented Polyurethanes Elastomers are a class of polymers having interesting properties which arise from their unique phase-separated structures resulting from the thermodynamic incompatibility of the ingredients[1]. Segmented polyurethane Elastomer generally consists of a segment derived from a polymeric diol and a hard segment from a diisocyanate and a low molecular weight diol(chain extender).(omitted)

  • Reliable fast working maglev switch is one of the key technologies needed for the maglev system to be commercialized. Switch for the maglev system is large, heavy, complicated, expensive compared with that of the traditional wheel-on-rail system. This paper reports the development of a segmented maglev switch for urban transit maglev system under construction for the 6.1 km long double track maglev commercialization line in Inchon international airport in 2012. Test results along with details of the segmented maglev switch components are reported.

  • Segmented block copolyetheresters defined as copolymers having sequences of alternating polyester hard blocks and polyether soft blocks create labile physical cross-links upon crystallization of hard polyester blocks Since the nature of the physical interlocking is a crystallite formed exclusively from the crystallizable hard segment, the basic understanding of interrelationship between crystallization condition and phase morphology is very important for the property control of the segmented block copolyetheresters. • In this paper, 3-dimensional object segmentation and classification are proposed. Planar object is segmented surface using jump boundary and internal boundary. Curved object is segmented surfaces by maximin clustering method. Segmented surfaces are classified by depth trends and angle measurement of normal vectors. Classified surfaces are merged according to adjacent surfaces and compared to Guassian curvature and mean curvature method. The proposed methods have been successfully applied to the synthetic range images and shows good classification.
