Industrial control systems in nuclear facilities are facing increasing cyber threats due to the widespread use of information and communication equipment. To implement cyber security programs effectively through the RG 5.71, it is necessary to quantitatively assess cyber risks. However, this can be challenging due to limited historical data on threats and customized Critical Digital Assets (CDAs) in nuclear facilities. Previous works have focused on identifying data flows, the assets where the data is stored and processed, which means that the methods are heavily biased towards information security concerns. Additionally, in nuclear facilities, cyber threats need to be analyzed from a safety perspective. In this study, we use the system theoretic process analysis to identify system-level threat scenarios that could violate safety constraints. Instead of quantifying the likelihood of exploiting vulnerabilities, we quantify Security Control Measures (SCMs) against the identified threat scenarios. We classify the system and CDAs into four consequence-based classes, as presented in NEI 13-10, to analyze the adversary impact on CDAs. This allows for the ranking of identified threat scenarios according to the quantified SCMs. The proposed framework enables stakeholders to more effectively and accurately rank cyber risks, as well as establish security and response strategies.

The security requirements identification in the software development has received some attention recently. However, previous methods do not provide clear method and process of security requirements identification. We propose a process that software developers can build application specific security requirements from state transition diagrams at the security threat location. The proposed process consists of building model and identifying application specific security requirements. The state transition diagram is constructed through subprocesses i) the identification of security threat locations using security failure data based on the point that attackers exploit software vulnerabilities and attack system assets, ii) the construction of a state transition diagram which is usable to protect, mitigate, and remove vulnerabilities of security threat locations. The identification Process of application specific security requirements consist of i) the analysis of the functional requirements of the software, which are decomposed into a DFD(Data Flow Diagram; the identification of the security threat location; and the appliance of the corresponding state transition diagram into the security threat locations, ii) the construction of the application specific state transition diagram, iii) the construction of security requirements based on the rule of the identification of security requirements. The proposed method is helpful to identify the security requirements easily at an early phase of software development.

Virtual Reality (VR) is becoming a new standard in the game industry. PokeMon GO is a representative example of VR technology. The day after the launch of PokeMon Go in the U.S, It has achieved the highest number of iOS App Store downloads. This is an example of the power of VR. VR comprises gyroscopes, acceleration, tactile sensors, and so on. This allow users could be immersed in the game. As new technologies emerge, new and different threats are created. So we need to research the security of VR technology and game system. In this paper, we conduct a threat analysis for information assurance of VR device (Oculus Rift) and game system (Quake). We systematically analyze the threats (STRIDE, attack library, and attack tree). We propose security measures through DREAD. In addition, we use Visual Code Grepper (VCG) tool to find out logic errors and vulnerable functions in source code, and propose a method to solve them.

In this paper we classify security threat elements of satellite communication into four parts; Level-0(satellite propagation signal), Level-1(satellite control data), Level-2(satellite application data) and ground network security level according to the personality and data of the satellite communication network. And we analyze each security levels. Using analyzed security threat elements, we divide security requirements into signal security level and information security level separately. And then above the existent signal security level countermeasure, we establish the countermeasure on the basis of information security policy such as satellite network security policy, satellite system security policy and satellite data security policy in information security level. In this paper we propose secure satellite communication network through the countermeasure based on information security policy.

The methods of electronic financial fraud continue to evolve. Various research and countermeasures have been proposed to counter this problem, but it is difficult to eradicate it. The purpose of this study is to analyze the risk of electronic financial fraud through MS Threat Risk Modeling and to propose the countermeasures against the electronic financial fraud. As a result of the analysis, it is confirmed that despite the difference of authentication methods, there is a high risk of pharming, and it is difficult to prevent attack by using only additional authentication means, device security or user authentication based security system. Therefore, this study suggests the introduction of preventive measures such as readjustment of transaction limit by security means, account authentication, and additional physical security measures. It also suggests the establishment and implementation of a comprehensive electronic financial fraud prevention policy through linkage of electronic fraud prevention system and improvement of public relations and user awareness.
Rapid progress of information technology and widespread use of the personal computers have brought various conveniences in our life. But this also provoked a series of problems such as hacking, malicious programs, illegal exposure of personal information etc. Information security threats are becoming more and more serious due to enhanced connectivity of information systems. Nevertheless, users are not much aware of the severity of the problems. Using appropriate password is supposed to bring out security effects such as preventing misuses and banning illegal users. The purpose of this research is to empirically analyze a research model which includes a series of factors influencing the effectiveness of passwords. The research model incorporates the concept of risk based on information systems risk analysis framework as the core element affecting the selection of passwords by users. The perceived risk is a main factor that influences user's attitude on password security, security awareness, and intention of security behavior. To validate the research model this study relied on questionnaire survey targeted on evening class MBA students. The data was analyzed by AMOS 7.0 which is one of popular tools based on covariance-based structural equation modeling. According to the results of this study, while threat is not related to the risk, information assets and vulnerability are related to the user's awareness of risk. The relationships between the risk, users security awareness, password selection and security effectiveness are all significant. Password exposure may lead to intrusion by hackers, data exposure and destruction. The insignificant relationship between security threat and perceived risk can be explained by user's indetermination of risk exposed due to weak passwords. In other words, information systems users do not consider password exposure as a severe security threat as well as indirect loss caused by inappropriate password. Another plausible explanation is that severity of threat perceived by users may be influenced by individual difference of risk propensity. This study confirms that security vulnerability is positively related to security risk which in turn increases risk of information loss. As the security risk increases so does user's security awareness. Security policies also have positive impact on security awareness. Higher security awareness leads to selection of safer passwords. If users are aware of responsibility of security problems and how to respond to password exposure and to solve security problems of computers, users choose better passwords. All these antecedents influence the effectiveness of passwords. Several implications can be derived from this study. First, this study empirically investigated the effect of user's security awareness on security effectiveness from a point of view based on good password selection practice. Second, information security risk analysis framework is used as a core element of the research model in this study. Risk analysis framework has been used very widely in practice, but very few studies incorporated the framework in the research model and empirically investigated. Third, the research model proposed in this study also focuses on impact of security awareness of information systems users on effectiveness of password from cognitive aspect of information systems users.

Since NFTs can be used like certificates due to the nature of blockchain, their use in various digital asset trading markets is expanding. This is because NFTs are expected to be actively used as a core technology of the metaverse virtual economy as non-transferable NFTs are developed. However, concerns about NFT security threats are also growing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze NFT-related infringement cases and to clearly understand the current security status and risks. As a research method, we determined NFT security areas based on previous studies and analyzed infringement cases and threat types for each area. The analysis results were systematically mapped in the form of domain, case, and threat, and the meaning of the comprehensive results was presented. As a result of the research, we want to help researchers clearly understand the current state of NFT security and seek the right research direction.

As smart bands make life more convenient and provide a positive lifestyle, many people are now using them. Since smart bands deal with private information, security design and implementation for smart band system become necessary. To make a trustworthy smart band, we must derive the security requirements of the system first, and then design the system satisfying the security requirements. In this paper, we apply threat modeling techniques such as Data Flow Diagram, STRIDE, and Attack Tree to the smart band system to identify threats and derive security requirements accordingly. Through threat modeling, we found the vulnerabilities of the smart band system and successfully exploited smart bands with them. To defend against these threats, we propose security measures and verify that they are secure by using Scyther which is a tool for automatic verification of security protocol.
