  • A fungal strain, designated PTT-2, was isolated from the bark of the trunk of a persimmon (Diospyros kaki) tree in Cheongdo, Korea. The isolate showed morphological similarities with Leptosphaerulina saccharicola. Strain PTT-2 had more rapid growth on potato dextrose agar medium than on oatmeal agar, malt extract agar, and synthetic nutrient poor agar media, with colony sizes of 53.8 mm, 49.8 mm, 48.4 mm, and 28.1 mm after 7 days at $25^{\circ}C$ temperature, respectively. Strain PTT-2 produced ascospores, which had irregular wavy edges, oblong to ellipsoidal shape, hyaline appearance and $23.6{\times}10{\mu}m$ size. The black ascomata were developed on PDA medium, and asci were recorded. A BLAST search of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, TEF1-${\alpha}$ and RPB2 gene sequences revealed that strain PTT-2 showed more than 99% nucleotide similarity with a strain of Leptosphaerulina saccharicola previously reported from Thailand. A neighbor-joining phylogenetic tree was constructed by concatenating the above-mentioned sequences, and showed that strain PTT-2 clustered in the same clade with L. saccharicola. Based on these findings, this is the first record of Leptosphaerulina saccharicola occurring in Korea.

  • Objectives: This study investigates the effect of electro-acupuncture on aphasia after stroke. Methods: A search of OASIS, NDSL, PubMed, Cochrane, and CNKI was executed between 4 January 2021 and 4 February 2021, with no limitation on publication year. Extraction and selection from the studies were made by 3 authors. The quality of the studies was evaluated using Cochrane's risk of bias (RoB) tool. Results: 10 studies met the selection criteria. As the treatment site for electro-acupuncture, GV20 (Baihui) was used the most. In all studies, the region located on the head was used for treatment without distinguishing between acupoints and areas of scalp acupuncture, and the stimulation was organized into 3 conditions: speed, intensity, and time. The outcome indicators used before and after treatment focused on the evaluation of language function and the degree of aphasia. The results showed that using electro-acupuncture with speech rehabilitation therapy for aphasia after stroke was more effective than using speech rehabilitation therapy alone. Conclusions: In this review, electro-acupuncture for aphasia after stroke was found to have a significant effect compared to the previous treatment alone. However, because of limitations, information was not reliable enough. Additional research is needed to produce more objective evidence.

  • Rendezvous is a process that assists nodes in a Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs) to discover each other. In CRNs where a common control channel is unknown and a number of channels are given, it is important how two nodes find each other in a known search region. In this paper, I have proposed and analyzed a channel hopping sequence using Sidel'nikov sequence by which each node visits an available number of channels. I analyze the expected time to-rendezvous (TTR) mathematically. I also verify the Rendezvous performance of proposed sequence in the view of TTR under 2 user environment compared with JS algorithm and GOS algorithm. The Rendezvous performance of proposed sequence is much better than GOS algorithm and similar with JS algorithm. But when M is much smaller than p, the performance of proposed sequence is better than JS algorithm.

  • With the development of web technology, large amounts of web documents are being produced. This web document contains various spatial texts, and by converting these texts into spatial information, it is the basis for searching for text documents with spatial query. These spatial texts consist of a wide range of areas, including postal codes and local phone numbers, as well as administrative place names and POI names. This paper presents algorithms that can map locations based on spatial text information existing within web documents. Through these algorithms, web documents can be searched for documents describing the region on a map rather than a general web search. In this paper, we demonstrated the presented algorithms are useful by implementing a web geo-text query system.

  • Microsatellites or simple sequence repeats are motifs of 1 to 6 nucleotides in length present in both coding and non-coding regions of DNA. These are found widely distributed in the whole genome of prokaryotes, eukaryotes, bacteria, and viruses and are used as molecular markers in studying DNA variations, gene regulation, genetic diversity and evolutionary studies, etc. However, in vitro microsatellite identification proves to be time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, the present research has been focused on using an in-house built java pipeline to identify, analyse, design primers and find related statistics of perfect and compound microsatellites in the seven complete genome sequences of coronavirus, including the genome of coronavirus disease 2019, where the host is Homo sapiens. Based on search criteria among seven genomic sequences, it was revealed that the total number of perfect simple sequence repeats (SSRs) found to be in the range of 76 to 118 and compound SSRs from 01 to10, thus reflecting the low conversion of perfect simple sequence to compound repeats. Furthermore, the incidence of SSRs was insignificant but positively correlated with genome size (R2 = 0.45, p > 0.05), with simple sequence repeats relative abundance (R2 = 0.18, p > 0.05) and relative density (R2 = 0.23, p > 0.05). Dinucleotide repeats were the most abundant in the coding region of the genome, followed by tri, mono, and tetra. This comparative study would help us understand the evolutionary relationship, genetic diversity, and hypervariability in minimal time and cost.

  • In this paper, in order to support rapid and effective decision-making and response in disaster situations, we identified the author's organization of academic research papers and conducted a collaborative relationship analysis study based on this. For this purpose, 2,308 papers in 69 Korean academic journals classified by disaster and safety type were selected for analysis and experimental data were constructed based on the Korea Science Citation Database (KSCD) and institutional identification data provided by KISTI. Collaborative relationship analysis was conducted for each of the four units (Institution, Institution type, Institution region and University department type). First, statistical status such as frequency of appearance was compared, and basic properties and main centrality index of each co-occurrence network were calculated and analyzed using Social Network Analysis Method. In addition, a visualization map was created and presented for each network so that the collaborative relationship could be viewed and understood as a whole. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the search activities of institutions and cooperative groups that support effective disaster response and to lay the foundation for the information service system.

  • Purpose: Ectopic eruption can be defined as the emergence of a tooth in an abnormal location, where the tooth does not follow its typical eruption pathway. While ectopic eruption within the dentate region is well-documented in the literature, ectopic eruption in non-dentate regions is relatively rare. This study aimed to report 6 cases of ectopic teeth and present a systematic review of the English-language literature on ectopic teeth, emphasizing demographic characteristics, radiographic features, potential complications, and treatment options. Materials and Methods: A literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases. The demographic data and radiographic findings of patients presenting with ectopic teeth were recorded. Results: The literature review yielded 61 cases of ectopic teeth, with patients ranging in age from 3 to 74 years. The findings from these previously reported cases demonstrated that the most common location for ectopic teeth was the maxillary sinus, which is consistent with this case series. The Pearson chi-square test was performed to evaluate the correlation between age and location of ectopic teeth, and the results were found to be statistically significant (P<0.05). However, no statistically significant relationship was observed between sex and the location of ectopic teeth. Conclusion: The distinct features of these cases warrant reporting. This study presents the first case of supernumerary teeth in the condyle without any associated pathosis. Another notable characteristic is the pre-eruptive resorption of 2 inverted supernumerary teeth ectopically located in the palate, which predisposes to sinus opacification.

  • Background: Senecavirus A (SVA), a member of the family Picornaviridae, is newly discovered, which causes vesicular lesions, lameness in swine, and even death in neonatal piglets. SVA has rapidly spread worldwide in recent years, especially in Asia. Objectives: We conducted a global meta-analysis and systematic review to determine the status of SVA infection in pigs. Methods: Through PubMed, VIP Chinese Journals Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Data search data from 2014 to July 26, 2020, a total of 34 articles were included in this analysis based on our inclusion criteria. We estimated the pooled prevalence of SVA in pigs by the random effects model. A risk of bias assessment of the studies and subgroup analysis to explain heterogeneity was undertaken. Results: We estimated the SVA prevalence to be 15.90% (1,564/9,839; 95% confidence interval [CI], 44.75-65.89) globally. The prevalence decreased to 11.06% (945/8,542; 95% CI, 28.25-50.64) after 2016. The highest SVA prevalence with the VP1-based RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry assay was 58.52% (594/1,015; 95% CI, 59.90-83.96) and 85.54% (71/83; 95% CI, 76.68-100.00), respectively. Besides, the SVA prevalence in piglet herds was the highest at 71.69% (119/166; 95% CI, 68.61-98.43) (p < 0.05). Moreover, our analysis confirmed that the subgroups, including country, sampling year, sampling position, detected gene, detection method, season, age, and climate, could be the heterogeneous factors associated with SVA prevalence. Conclusions: The results indicated that SVA widely exists in various countries currently. Therefore, more prevention and control policies should be proposed to enhance the management of pig farms and improve breeding conditions and the environment to reduce the spread of SVA.

  • In this paper, we describe the current state of speech recognition technology and identify the basic speech recognition technology and algorithms first, and then explain the code flow of API necessary for speech recognition technology. We use the application programming interface (API) of Google, Naver, and Daum KaKao, which have the most famous search engine among the speech recognition APIs, to create a voice recognition app in the Android studio tool. Then, we perform a speech recognition experiment on people's standard words and dialects according to gender, age, and region, and then organize the recognition rates into a table. Experiments were conducted on the Gyeongsang-do, Chungcheong-do, and Jeolla-do provinces where the degree of tongues was severe. And Comparative experiments were also conducted on standardized dialects. Based on the resultant sentences, the accuracy of the sentence is checked based on spacing of words, final consonant, postposition, and words and the number of each error is represented by a number. As a result, we aim to introduce the advantages of each API according to the speech recognition rate, and to establish a basic framework for the most efficient use.

  • Various methods for reducing the load on the server have been implemented in performing face recognition remotely by the spread of IP security cameras. In this paper, IP surveillance cameras at remote sites are input through a DSP board equipped with face detection function, and then face detection is performed. Then, the facial region image is transmitted to the server, and the face recognition processing is performed through face recognition distributed processing. As a result, the overall server system load and significantly reduce processing and real-time face recognition has the advantage that you can perform while linked up to 256 cameras. The technology that can accomplish this is to perform 64-channel face recognition per server using distributed processing server technology and to process face search results through 250 camera channels when operating four distributed processing servers there was.
