  • In accordance with the development of information and communications technology, a network user has to be able to use quality of service (QoS)-based multimedia services easily. Thus, information and communications operators began to focus on a technique for providing multimedia services. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a platform based on Internet Protocol (IP) as a technology for providing multimedia services and application services. The emerging 5G networks are described as having massive capacity and connectivity, adaptability, seamless heterogeneity, and great flexibility. The explosive growth in network services and devices for 5G will cause excessive traffic loads. In this paper, software-defined networking (SDN) is applied as a kind of virtualization technology for the network in order to minimize the traffic load, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to provide more efficient network management. To accomplish these purposes, we suggest the design of a dynamic routing algorithm to be utilized in the IMS network using SDN and an SNMP private management information base (MIB). The proposal in this paper gives information and communications operators the ability to supply more efficient network resources.

  • A by-pass path in wireless sensor networks is the alternative path which be able to forward data when a routing path is being broken. One reason of depleting energy is occurred by the path. The method for solving prior to addressed the problem is proposed. However, this method may deplete radio resource. The best path has advantage that network lifetime of sensor nodes is prolonged; on the contrary, in order to maintain the best path it have to share their information between the entire nodes. In this paper, we propose the best path searching algorithm in the distributed three dimensional sensor networks. Through the neighboring informations sharing in the proposed method, the proposed algorithm can decide the best k-path as well as the extension of network lifetime.

  • In this paper, we study a multicast transport technique for multimedia services of mobile hosts in wireless network environments. To reduce packet loss during hand-off, we propose a Pre-join scheme in overlapped area and a Buffering scheme in crossover routers. To support seamless service in real time multimedia application, these scheme use an optimal path routing which was provided in remote subscription scheme and a prediction scheme of host movements which was considered overlapped area. To evaluate the peformance of our scheme, we compare Bi-direction tunneling of mobile If, Remote subscription, and MoM by using NS-2. As a result, our scheme shows better performance in network overhead, packet loss and bandwidth's use than other schemes.

  • In an infrastructure-based wireless network, an access point is used for all communications among mobile devices. However, when a mobile device moves into a dead Bone, a connectivity disruption between the mobile device and the access point occurs. Such connectivity disruption consequently leads to another connectivity disruption between the mobile device moving toward the dead zone and other wireless-enabled devices located within the area of the infrastructure-based wireless network. To cope with the connectivity disruption in the infrastructure-based wireless network the ad hoc network that dynamically forms a network without any preexisting communication infrastructure needs to be set up to provide seamless connections among mobile devices. In this paper, we propose the DNSQ-MAC (Dynamic Network State aware QoS-Medium Access Control) technique that meets the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and guarantees the QoS performance of an ad hoc-based wireless network. Mobile devices incorporating the DNSQ-MAC technique are capable of adjusting to the new dynamic network status in order to enhance the QoS performance in the ad hoc-based wireless network. A case study which exploits the Qualnet simulator shows that the proposed DNSQ-MAC technique can guarantee the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and enhance the QoS performance of various routing protocols and packet schedulers running on the network layer above the MAC layer.

  • In this paper, we propose a new contention window control algorithm to increase TCP performance in wireless multi-hop networks. The new contention window control algorithm is suggested to reduce the hidden and exposed terminal problems of wireless multi-hop networks. Most of packet drops in wireless multi-hop networks results from hidden and exposed terminal problems, not from collisions. However, in normal DCF algorithm a failed user increases its contention window exponentially, thus it reduces the success probability of fined nodes. This phenomenon causes burst data transmissions in a particular node that already was successful in packet transmission, because the success probability increases due to short contention window. However, other nodes that fail to transmit packet data until maximum retransmission attempts try to set up new routing path configuration in network layer, which cause TCP performance degradation and restrain seamless data transmission. To solve these problems, the proposed algorithm increases the number of back-of retransmissions to increase the success probability of MAC transmission, and fixes the contention window at a predetermined value. By using ns-2 simulation for the chain and grid topology, we show that the proposed algorithm enhances the TCP performance.
