In this paper, we proposed an automatic packing mechanism of one station concept for fastener objects where the continuous work is performed in a finite space. The proposed packing mechanism is composed of supporting frame, feeding supply, air shower device, clamping/opening device, batch charging device, sealing/cutting device and supply adjusting device. And, these mechanisms have been modularized through mechanical, dynamical, structural and fluid optimized design using the SMO(SimDesigner Motion) analysis module. Also, the virtual prototype was carried out using the 3-D CAD program. The packing process is consisted performed in the order of feeding, clamping, bottom sealing, cutting, opening, object charging, closing and the upper sealing. And the time of these cycles were designed to be completed in 15-20 seconds. This packing mechanism will be created as a prototype in the near future. In addition, it will be applied to the production scenes after going through a field test for the validation of performance.

A rubber seal for wheel bearing which has been mainly applied to car wheel supporting device is required to have both high sealing performance and drag torque. Because of severe operational conditions like infiltration of mud or splashed water, the importance of rubber seal which is aimed for leakage prevention of grease and effective blocking of foreign substances has been increasing continuously. The sealing performance of this seal depends on several factors such as materials of seal, friction conditions of contact regions and geometry of seals and so on. We have focused on the effects of geometric characteristics such as the angle of main lip, interference between lip edge and inner metallic ring. In this study, the optimization of geometric variables was performed using the finite element analysis. For the sake of finite element analysis, uniaxial tensile tests were conducted and several constants for Mooney-Rivlin's equation were obtained. According to the results of this study, mock-up bearing was made. To verify this study, drag torque and mud spray test were preformed.

In this study, we observed the mechanical properties, thermal stability, and low temperature sealing performance of fluorosilicone elastic composites. When the blend ratio of Phenyl vinyl methyl silicone (PVMQ) was increased, the tensile strength, modulus at 100%, and compression set were decreased. The thermal stability of fluorosilicone elastic composites showed a similar tendency. These were caused by poorer green strength of PVMQ than Fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ). The change in the tensile strength and elongation at -40℃ showed a decreasing tendency with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. By increasing the PVMQ blend ratio, low-temperature performance was improved. The Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) results showed that Tg was decreased and low-temperature performance was improved with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. However tanδ was decreased becaused of the poor green strength and elasticity of PVMQ. From a hysteresis loss at -40℃, the hysteresis loss value was increased and fluorosilicone elastic composites showed the decreasing tendency of elasticity with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. From the TR test, TR10 was decreased with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. FS-4 (45% PVMQ blended composites) showed a TR10 of -68.0℃ that was 5℃ lower than that of FS-1 (100% FVMQ). The gas leakage temperature was decreased with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. The gas leakage temperature of FS-4 was -69.2℃ that was 5℃ lower than that of FS-1. Caused by the polymer chain started to transfer from a glassy state to a rubbery state and had a mobility of chain under Tg, the gas leakage temperature showed a lower value than Tg. The sealing performance at low temperature was dominated by Tg that directly affected the mobility of the polymer chain.

Objectives: Endosequence Bioceramic Root Repair Material (BC-RRM) is used in endodontic microsurgery. It is available as a paste and a putty. However, no studies to date have examined the sealing ability of these forms alone or in combination as root-end filling materials. Hence, this study aimed to compare the sealing properties of these 2 forms of BC-RRM. Materials and Methods: Forty-two extracted upper anterior teeth were divided into 3 experimental groups, a positive and negative control. After the root canal treatment, the root ends were resected, retroprepared and retrofilled with either putty, paste + putty or mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). The teeth were mounted in tubes so the apical 3 mm was submerged in Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) broth. The coronal portions of the canals were inoculated with Enterococcus faecalis and BHI broth and incubated for 30 days. The broth in the tubes was analyzed for colony forming units to check for leakage of bacteria from the canal. The teeth from the groups were sectioned and analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Kruskal-Wallis test and analysis of variance were used to analyze the data with a significance level p < 0.05. Results: The BC-RRM and MTA groups showed similar sealing ability. The positive control showed leakage in all samples. The SEM imaging showed the presence of bacteria in all experimental groups at the material-tooth interface. Conclusions: No significant differences were noted in the experimental groups, providing sufficient evidence that any combination could be effectively used during endodontic microsurgery.
Cracking is an inevitable fact of asphalt concrete pavements and plays a major role in pavement deterioration. Pavement cracking is one of the main factors determining the frequency and method of repair. Cracks can be treated with a number of preventative maintenance actions, including overlay surface treatments such as slurry sealing, crack sealing, or crack filling. Pavement cracks can show up as one or all of the following types: transverse, longitudinal, fatigue, block, reflective, edge, and slippage. Crack sealing is a frequently used pavement maintenance treatment because it significantly extends the pavement service life. However, crack sealant often fails prematurely due to a loss of adhesion. Because current test methods are mostly empirical and only provide a qualitative measure of the bond strength, they cannot accurately predict the adhesive failure of the sealant. This study introduces a laboratory test aimed at assessing the bonding of hot-poured crack sealant to the walls of pavement cracks. A pneumatic adhesion tensile testing instrument (PATTI) was adopted to measure the bonding strength of the hot-poured crack sealant as a function of the curing time and temperature. Based on a limited number of test results, the hot-poured crack sealants have very different bonding performances. Therefore, this test method can be proposed as part of a newly developed performance-based standard specification for hot-poured crack sealants for use in the future. PURPOSES : The purpose of this study was to evaluate both the adhesion and failure performance of a crack sealant as a function of its curing time and curing temperature. METHODS: A pneumatic adhesion tensile testing instrument (PATTI) was adopted to measure the adhesion performance of a crack sealant as a function of the curing time and curing temperature. RESULTS: With changes in the curing time, curing temperature, and sealant type, the bond strengths were found to be significantly different. Also, higher bond strengths were measured at lower temperatures. Different sealant types produced completely different bond strengths and failure behaviors. CONCLUSIONS: The bonding strength of an evaluated crack sealant was shown to differ depending on various factors. Two sealant types, which were composed of different raw materials, were shown to perform differently. The newly proposed test offers the possibility of evaluating and differentiating between different crack sealants. Based on alimited number of test results, this test method can be proposed as part of a newly developed performance-based standard specification for crack sealants or as part of a guideline for the selection of hot-poured crack sealant in the future.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sealing effect of several root-end filling materials using spectrophotometric analysis. 180 single root teeth with one canal were instrumented and canal filled. Root resected and root end preparation was made. Teeth were randomly classified to S experimental group(MTA, EBA, IRM, TCP, ZOE) and 1 control group according to root-end filling material MTA group used PRO ROOT MT A, EBA group used Super EBA. TCP group used NEW APATITE LINER TYPE II main component of which is ${\alpha}-tricalcium$ phosphate (TCP). According to manufacture's instruction experimental material was mixed and retrfilled. After 2% methylene blue solution penetration absorbance for each test sample was measured with spectrophotometer (JASCO UV-530, Japan). The mean absorbance of control and experimental group was as follows; MTA: 0.092, IRM: 0.226, Super EBA: 0.255, ZOE: 0.374, Control: 0.425, TCP: 0.501 and the result analyzed by Turkey test at P=0.05 level. Conclusions of this study are as follows; 1. The absorbance increase in following sequence MTA, IRM, Super EBA, ZOE, Control. TCP. 2. MTA showed the least leakage but was not significant with IRM or Super EBA and was significant with control or TCP(p<0.05). 3. TCP had the most leakage and was not significant with control group.
In this study, a numerical model of a shield tunnel with an assembled segmental lining was built. The seismic response of the segmental lining of the section of the shield tunnel in Line 1 of the Chengdu Metro is analyzed as it passes through the interface of sand-cobble and mudstone layers. To do so, the node-stress seismic-motion input method was used to input the seismic motion measured during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, and the joint openings and dislocations associated with the earthquake action were obtained. With reference to the Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer (EPDM) sealing gaskets used in the shield tunnels in the Chengdu Metro, numerical simulation was applied to analyze the contact pressure along the seepage paths and the waterproof property under different joint openings and dislocations. A laboratory test on the elastic sealing gasket was also conducted to study its waterproof property. The test results accord well with the numerical results and the occurrence of water seepage in the section of the shield tunnel in Line 1 of the Chengdu Metro during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake was verified. These research results demonstrate the deformation of segmental joint under earthquake, also demonstrate the relationship between segmental joint deformation and waterproof property.
Many issues arose to use the Pb-free solder as adhesive materials in MEMS ICs and packaging. Then this study for easy and simple sealing method using adhesive materials was carried out to maintain hermetic characteristic in MEMS Package. In this study, Hermetic characteristic using negative PR (XP SU-8 3050 NO-2) as adhesive at the interface of Si test coupon/glass substrate and Si test coupon/LTCC substrate was examined. For experiment, the dispenser pressure was 4 MPa and the $200\;{\mu}m{\Phi}$ syringe nozzle was used. 3.0 mm/sec as speed of dispensing and 0.13 mm as the gap between Si test coupon and nozzle was selected to machine condition. 1 min at $65^{\circ}C$ and 15 min at $95^{\circ}C$ as Soft bake, $200\;mj/cm^2$ expose in 365 nm wavelength as UV expose, 1 min at $65^{\circ}C$ and 6 min at $95^{\circ}C$ as Post expose bake, 60 min at $150^{\circ}C$ as hard bake were selected to activation condition of negative PR. Hermetic sealing was achieved at the Si test coupon/ glass substrate and Si test coupon/LTCC substrate. The leak rate of Si test coupon/glass substrate was $5.9{\times}10^{-8}mbar-l/sec$, and there was no effect by adhesive method. The leak rate of Si test coupon/LTCC substrate was $4.9{\times}10^{-8}mbar-l/sec$, and there was no effect by dispensing cycle. Better leak rate value could be achieved to use modified substrate which prevent PR flow, to increase UV expose energy and to use system that controls gap automatically with vision.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal sealing ability of 'Hi-Pol' Enamel Bond system. Using freshly extracted human teeth and 2% acquous methylene blue, the marginal leakage of dye in restorative materials such as 'Hi-Pol' Enamel Bond system, Hi-Pol, Adaptic, Nuva system, Epolite and Amalgam were investigated at 37℃ and under temperature cycling in range of 4℃-60℃. the results as follows; 1. All filling materials showed some degree of marginal penetration by 2% methylene blue dye. 2. 'Hi-Pol' Enamel Bond system revealed the least marginal penetration by 2% methylene blue as Nuva did at 37℃, but under temperature cycling in range of 4℃-60℃ it showed the greatest marginal penetration. 3. Hi-Pol restoration showed a tendency the similar to the other composite restoration. 4. Nuva system had the most effective marginal sealing ability either at 37℃ and under temperature cycling.

In this paper, the mechanical movement of lip seal-ring which plays the most important function in stern-tube sealing system and the possibility of leakage caused by pressure fluctuation are studied by theory and experiment. By the finite element method for axial symmetry object which receives the torsional bending load, the displacement and stress analysis of the seal-rings are executed for products of several representative manufacturers of seal-rings, and also the possibility of crack occurance are checked by theoretical analysis. A sample seal-ring id designed and manufactured using the program of displacement and stress analysis developed in this study and made an experimental apparatus to test the sampling seal-ring. The sampling seal-ring functioned excellently, but it had its durability and this problem may be solved by using the Viton instead of NBR.
