This study started with the design methodology for externally installed metal sculptures. As the scope and meaning of design grows, the concept of design is also used for externally installed sculptures, and there is a demand for a sculpture design that contains the story of the installation environment while being suitable for the surrounding environment. This concept is defined as an environmental sculpture only among formative artists. The concept of environmental sculptures is not fully known and academic research is also insufficiently performed. Therefore, in order to define externally installed sculptures as environmental sculptures, this study elaborated the concept and conditions of good design and the concept and role of environmental sculptures as a theoretical background, and classified the concepts and conditions of good design and the concepts and roles of environmental sculptures. Based on the previous theoretical studies, by utilizing the conditions of good design and the role of environmental sculptures, this study suggested that design development elements were completed as metal environmental sculptures and research works were presented. In conclusion, the design methodology for metal environmental sculptures has been presented, and various environmental sculpture design studies will continue and various paradigms of convergence environmental sculptures will be studied.

It is clear that so called 1% law " in Korea has been established to enhance the quality of urban environment. However, after more than 10 years of its enforcement, environmental sculptures installed in accordance with the "1% law" are even being called as "sculptural pollution". This research was a part of a study on the environmental sculptures for the enhancement of the quality of urban environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate problems inherent in the outdoor space as places of environmental sculptures installed in accordance with "1% law". The following facts were found from the analysis of the relationship between 223 environmental sculptures and their surrounding environment from the viewpoint of spatial organization through field surveys. 1. 88.3% out of 223 environmental sculptures were located on ' 'public space' on study sites 2. 69.1% were placed on 'green' 3. 80.7% of 'green' were either 'point' types or 'line' types 4. 85.2% were under 5m in the longest dimension. The implication of this study is that "1% law" in Korea has been applied to only buildings in private sector where most outdoor space area in unadequate physical and spatial conditions to install diverse forms of environmental sculptures. Further studies must be carried out to install environmental sculptures in public open pace as an alternative by amending "1% law".
There are many Rupcumkyon: - Monasteries with sculptures in Magway Region. But some were ruined and some are preserved and maintained still today. Most of the monasteries are built in Radanapon Period. But some are built in early Colonial Period. Nobilities and wealthy persons donated these monasteries to their learned Sayadaws. The architect used a lot of log in construction. Some monasteries have six stairways but other has four stairways. At these monasteries, sculptures were put on blusters. These were illustrations of extract from 547 Jataka stories and Dhammapada. Illustrations admonish the people not to do excessive craving and passion. These sculptures depict the art of sculpture, costume and adornment, and socio-economy of that Period under survey. This paper is to reveal and to explore the significant features in building monasteries and to compare each of the monasteries with sculptures at Sale, Salin, Legaing and Sagu in Magway Region.
Environmental sculptures not only play a part as various cultural facilities but also symbolize local unique culture beyond the limit of functional role. Therefore subway environmental sculptures not only should be approached in terms of public installations and beauty but also should be designed to meet the needs of subway users appropriately. In order to find out what subway users think about environment sculptures installed in subway stations, the factors that can evaluate awareness and preference for environment sculptures and visual image of environment sculptures were examined and analyzed. Positive elements have been shown with regard to environment sculptures but it was judged that visual quality of subway environment can be improved more if environment sculptures keep in harmony with the characteristics of stations.
This research focused on the priotity decision for establishment sriteria on the effects which environmental sculptures in urban area. The analysis performed in this study used the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) that is recognized as a useful decision-making tool to select and evaluate alternatives through pairwise comparison in the context of hierarchical decision structure. The results obtained from the analysis drawn by collecting the professional opinions of 5 experts for environmental sculptures are as follows: 1. The orders of establish criteria priorities on environmental sculptures were harmony of environment> symbol> public> function. The harmony of environment was the most important priority because it showed the highest weight of criteria. 2. The alternative priorities of environmental sculptures were the meaning of work>setting place> social contribution> physical quality .The meaning of work showed the highest change in the weight of alternative. 3.The sensitivity analysis of environmental sculptures demonstrated that the rate of change in the alternative priorities of the public was stabilized although the criteria importance varied, while the harmony of environment, the symbol intimated and function of priorities has their rates of weight changed if the criteria priorities were high.

The aerial support air sculptures currently exhibited in indoor spaces are similar to simple ad balloons, using multiple rope strands. Users now want more advanced unfixed sculptures, and hope these will develop into buoyant sculptures that can maintain the attitudes that users want on their own. This study investigated an attitude control system for unfixed levitation sculptures that can levitate with no rope and continuously maintain a certain attitude at a height specified by the user. To facilitate levitation, the exterior part of the sculpture was made of lightweight fibers, and the interior part was filled with helium gas. The controller was composed of a microprocessor of the dsPIC30F line from microchip, gyro, acceleration, and earth magnetic field sensors, and a highly efficient brushless DC (BLDC) electric motor. The attitude and position control system requires scheduling considering the trajectories of the sculpture and the control system, because the roles of the overall components are more important than those of a single controller. Furthermore, the system was designed like a fusion system that is expanded and controlled as a total controller, because it is interconnected with various sensors. The attitude control system of buoyant sculptures was implemented in this study, such that it can actively cope with the position, direction, stopping, and time aspects. The system performance was then evaluated.

This study, as part of a study on the visual impact and evaluation of the symbolic sculptures currently installed in counties in Jeollanam-do on the formation of Landscapes by local governments, investigated and analyzed the installation characteristics of symbolic sculptures by local governments. As a result, many local governments have installed local specialties and landmarks as symbolic sculptures, and the installation location is often installed in open spaces and in the center of roundabouts. It was investigated that the use of color or the color of the material as it is was preferred. It was found that more symbolic sculptures installed on the roadside were installed in the center of the roundabout or along the side of the street than installation at the gateway. It is considered that it is more effective to recognize the symbolism of the area to the tourists through the installation of the symbolic sculpture at the entrance of the area, the center of the roundabout, or the side of the road rather than the gate, because the size of the symbol is bigger in order to recognize the symbolism of the area due to the width of the large road when installing the symbolic sculpture at the gateway, It is considered.

The floating sculptures in the form of ad-ballon commonly used ropes in order to hold on. Relatively air flow is much less indoor than outdoor. Users of buoyancy sculptures hope to be able to maintain their desired posture without being fixed. This study applied drone technology to buoyancy sculptures. The drones can be moved vertically and horizontally, and the posture can be maintained, so buoyancy sculptures are easy to apply. Therefore, we have studied the control system of buoyancy sculpture using drone technology. Also, a control system that can maintain the desired posture at a constant height was studied. The overall shape was a light fiber material and helium gas for zero buoyancy to support the sculpture. The system configuration was STM32F103CB from ARM. In addition, the gyro and acceleration, geomagnetic sensors and motors are composed of small and medium size BLDC motors. The scheduling of the control system in the configuration of the control device was carefully considered. Because the role of the whole component becomes very important. The communication between the components is divided into the sensor fusion and the interface communication with the whole controller. Each communication technology is designed to expand. This study was implemented to actively respond from the viewpoint of posture control using the drone technology.
Donggwanwangmyo[East Shrine of King Guan Yu] is the shrine for General Guan Yu from the Shu Dynasty, China. This type of shrine was begun to be built from the Tang Dynasty in China and from 1598 in Korea when the Japanese invaded Korea for the $2^{nd}$ time. Donggwanwangmyo is historically significant because it was jointly constructed by China and Korea in the spring of 1602 after the end of Japanese invasion of Korea. However, almost no research has been conducted about the sculptures standing at Donggwanwangmyo and there are many mistakes concerning the names and materials of these sculptures. This study is conducted to resolve these issues as follows: First of all, it was found that the main building of Donggwanwangmyo enshrines those which were moved from the North Shrine of Guan Yu and the West Shrine of Guan Yu during the Japanese colonial rule of Korea in addition to what was initially placed in Donggwanwangmyo during construction. These relics are assorted and each line of them is displayed in the center and to the east or west of the building. Among the relics, seven sculptures are standing at the center of the main building, among which one sculpture of Guan Yu is made of gold and two sculptures of maids and four sculptures of guards are made of clay. It is particularly noted that the sculptures of Guan Yu and his guards, Guan Ping, Zhou Cang, Wang Fu, and Zhao Lei, represent the portraits of historical characters that actually existed. Moreover, the sculptures of guards are characterized by the fact that they are unlike those in China, but have two pairs of literary men and warriors that stand facing each other as is the case in the royal mausoleums constructed during the Joseon Dynasty. Second of all, the sculptures from Donggwanwangmyo were carved in 1602, but their costumes and equipment were derived from the paintings from the Tang and Song Dynasties. Some decorations from the Ming Dynasty are also reflected in the sculptures. It implies that Donggwanwangmyo was partially modeled after the Shrine of Emperor Guan Yu[Gwanjemyo] in Jiezhou which was rebuilt in 1593 by Emperor Sinjong of the Ming Dynasty and that the secular and dramatic patterns of the Qing Dynasty are prevalent in the said sculptures based on the patterns of the Ming Dynasty because all the sculptures at the Shrine in Jiezhou were constructed when the Qing Dynasty ruled between the $18^{th}$ and the $19^{th}$ Centuries. In conclusion, it was found that sculptures from Donggwanwangmyo were created in 1602, that they follow the ancient traditions attested by the paintings of Korean and Chinese sculptures, and that they are very valuable in art history since they retain the original forms of the Shrine of Guan Yu built during the Joseon and Ming Dynasties.
This study is to analyze the current state, trend, and preference of the three chrysanthemum festivals representing South Korea that are hosted by local governments, and it is to be used as the basic data for preparing effective plans for the chrysanthemum festivals. The study was conducted from April 20, 2013 to November 25, 2017, and literature review, online search, interviews with persons in charge, field survey, and questionnaire survey were performed. As a result of the field survey, all three festivals had their space structures divided, themes decided and space images depicted based on chrysanthemum sculptures. The landmarks of the city, cultural assets, or great figures were selected to the main theme of the major chrysanthemum sculptures. The sculptures were decorated realistically for users to easily recognize the image. The main chrysanthemum sculptures tended to be introduced repeatedly. As results of the current state of visit and preference, it was found that the number of visitors has increased every year, along with revisits. The satisfaction and the preference for the festival were evaluated positively, and the chrysanthemum festival has become a local festival representing autumn, and a resource for vitalization of the regional economy. However, as a result of the survey, insufficient parking space and resting place, change of image of the sculptures, experience programs, and food shall be improved in order to increase the users satisfaction.
