비만 관리 프로그램이 여고생의 체중, 체질량지수 및 생리지표에 미치는 효과 (Effect of an Obesity Management Program on Body Weight, Body Mass Index and Physiological Index of High School Girl Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effect of an obesity management program on the body weight, body-mass index, and physiological index of obese female high school students. Method: Students from one school were selected as the experimental group, and students from another school as a control group so the latter group wasn't exposed to the experiment. The experimental group and the control group were each organized with 20 students. The experimental group received 60 minutes of behavior modification once a week, for eight weeks. Result: The Body weight, and Body mass-Index of the experimental group significantly decreased after the obesity management program. Total-cholesterol, T-G, and LDL-C significantly decreased and HDL-C increased in the experimental group. Total-cholesterol, T-G, LDL-C and HDL-C between the experimental group and control group showed significant differences. Conclusion: These results indicate that the obesity management program had a great effect on decreasing the body weight and body-mass index of the female obese high school students, normalizing their physiological index. In conclusion, this program turned out to be one of the safest and most effective obesity-management methods that could be applied to female high school students.

과학인식론의 일부 주제에 대한 고등학생들의 견해 (High School Students' Views about Some Topics of the Epistemology of Science)

  • As science programs emphasize an understanding of the nature of science, it is needed to assess students' views on a wide range of science-technology-society topics. The purpose of this study is to investigate the views of high school students about some selected topics of the epistemology of science. The selected topics include the meaning of science, scientific assumptions, values in science, conceptual inventions in science, scientific method, consensus making in science, and characteristics of the knowledge produced in science. Identified preconceptions in the study are as follows: Science was seen as improving the world(20%), and technology was defined as the application of science(35%). Almost half of the sample(49%) subscribed to a view consistent with a creationist posture and large group of students(46%) expressed a purely ontological view. Only minority of the students(5%) discounted the role played by private science values, but one half of the sample denied the fact that gender-related values can influence the knowledge that scientist construct(53%). Only a small potion of the sample(5%) held a view contrasting to contemporary epistemology of science, but the majority(67%) expressed a simplistic hierarchical relationship in which hypotheses become theories and theories become laws. One third of the students(33%) held a preconception that the scientific method composed of questioning, hypothesizing, collecting data, and concluding. Students did not appreciate the role of consensus making in science(33%). An out-dated epistemic perspective describes the progress of science as simply an accumulation of knowledge(4%). In general, it was concluded that most high school students did not hold efficient understanding on the nature of science. It can be said that no adequate and consistent instruction took place to provide students with an authentic view of the nature of science.

컴퓨터 전공 신입생의 성공적 적응 요인 분석 (Analysis of Successful Adaptation Factors of Computer Science Freshmen Students)

  • As other major, students have difficulties to be successfully adapted to computer science major without some interest and skill to computer programming. In this paper, we try to find successful factors for computer science major freshmen students to computer programming. The factors we focused are programming experience before college entrance, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, application motivations to computer major, existence of mentors, satisfaction to his/her computer department, student's holland job aptitude code. After analysis, taking liberal arts/natural science courses at high school, satisfaction to computer department, some holland job aptitude code are significant to their successful adaptation to computer major. Also, we found the holland job apptitude code is closely related to student's satisfaction to their major for engineering students including computer science students. Our analysis results will be a suggestion for designing computer science education program with students who enters college without some aptitude or preparation to his major.

한식조리전공의 교육과정에 관한 조리전공 고등학생과 대학생의 인식 조사 (The Perceptions of Culinary Art High School and Undergraduate Students on the Curriculum for Korean Culinary Arts Majors)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the perceptions and opinions of culinary art high school and undergraduate students on the curriculum for Korean culinary arts education. The results of the research were as follows. High school students were found to be more satisfied regarding their culinary arts curriculum than college and university students (p<0.001). In addition, high school students gave a significantly higher score for the 'need for Korean culinary arts major' than college and university students' (p<0.001). University students placed more emphasis on the current policies and business projects of the government for globalization of Korean cuisine as compared to high school and college students (p<0.001). A high percentage of respondents perceived Korean cuisine to be 'old fashioned(44.6%), followed by 'difficulty in finding a good job(40.1%)'. Forty five% of the students responded that the important factor for Korean culinary arts education was the 'curriculum'. More than half of the students perceived 'ability to adapt traditional cuisine style to foreigners and modern customers' as a very important area. In terms of areas required to be included in Korean culinary arts curriculum, ‘basic cooking skills(4.49)' received the highest perceived need score, followed by 'languages(4.46)', 'traditional Korean food(4.33)' and ‘Korean food culture(4.21)'. The findings of the study can be used to develop a curriculum for Korean culinary arts major.

온실효과에 대한 학생들의 개념 분석 (The analysis of students' ideas about the greenhouse effect)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of Greenhouse Effect as understood by middle school high school university students using a closed-form questionnaire. Based on results of the questionnaire which was administered to 619, the extent to which alternative concepts were held was quantified and compared the difference of various group based on grade level. gender, text and major. Also, subjects were divided into two groups, one is middle school students and the other is high school university students and common themes within conceptual framework of each group were identified by factor analysis. The result showed that students confused Greenhouse Effect with ozone layer depletion in stratosphere and linked familiar contamination around everyday life. acid rain. radioactive contamination, nuclear arsenal to Greenhouse Effect. These trends were more appreciable in female than male, biology major than any other major and text did not make any significant difference. In addition, the result of factor analysis showed that two groups linked familiar contamination around everyday life to Greenhouse Effect and high school university students understand the consequences of an increase in the Greenhouse Effect more systematically than middle school student, perceived the relation between the origin of an increase in the Greenhouse Effect and human activity but confused Greenhouse Effect with ozone layer depletion in stratosphere.

사고양식과 학업성취의 관계에 대한 과학고생과 일반학생의 차이 (Difference of the science and the general high school for the relation of thinking style and academic achievement)

  • 본 연구는 과학고와 일반고의 사고양식의 차이를 학업성취와 관련하여 검증하였다. 과학고 122명, 일반고 93명 등 총 211명을 대상으로 연구를 한 결과, 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학고와 일반고 학생들의 사고 양식이 다른 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 과학고생이 일반학생보다 학업성취를 설명하는 다양한 사고양식이 존재하였다. 그리고, 과학고의 경우, 경로분석을 통해서 지능이 전체 성취에 직접적 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 사법적 사고 양식과 군주적 사고양식을 통해서도 간접적 영향을 미치고 있었다. 끝으로 과학영재의 사고양식의 특성을 통해서, 현 과학영재교육의 개선과 방향에 대하여 시사점을 제공하였다.

Exploratory study on effect of eco-friendly program in high school foodservice on adolescents' dietary behavior and satisfaction with foodservice

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of an eco-friendly foodservice program at a high school on dietary behaviors of students, awareness of importance of eco-friendly activities, and foodservice satisfaction. Methods: The survey was conducted with students at two schools in Gyeonggi, Korea. A total of 576 of 650 students were used for this study. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test, independent t-test, and factor analysis to test the two group's differences. Results: The practices of 'eat balanced meals' or 'finish all food on the plate' scored high (p < 0.001) in students that participated in the eco-friendly foodservice program than those who did not. Regarding awareness of the importance of eco-friendly activities, all attributes scored higher in students that participated in the eco-friendly foodservice program. All attributes for satisfaction except two scored higher (p < 0.05) in students that participated in the eco-friendly foodservice program. Principal Components Analysis (PCA) of the correlation showed that high subjective income status was positively associated with foodservice satisfaction. Conclusion: Students that participated in the eco-friendly foodservice program are highly aware of the importance of eco-friendly activities. They demonstrate more positive dietary behaviors and higher awareness of the importance of eco-friendly programs with greater foodservice satisfaction.

초등 예비 교사들의 일반 교수 효능감과 과학 교수 효능감 비교 (Comparison of General Teaching Efficacy and Science Teaching Efficacy of Preservice Elementary Teachers)

  • This study investigated whether there was a difference between general teaching efficacy and science teaching efficacy of preservice elementary teachers. And, the difference was also examined in the area of several variables of the preservice teachers, such as gender, the university majors, the high school majors, and grades. The results showed that a significant difference was not found between general teaching efficacy and science teaching efficacy. Teacher variables were found as the major factors to explain the difference. In case of male students who are majoring in science/math at university, and the students who majored in science/math at high school, science teaching efficacy was higher than general teaching efficacy. Whereas, in case of female students and nonscience majors at university and high school, science teaching efficacy was lower than their general teaching efficacy. Educational implications for preservice elementary teachers were discussed.

초·중·고등학생의 인공지능 윤리의식의 성차 분석 (An Analysis of Gender Differences in Primary, Middle and High School Students' Artificial Intelligence Ethics Awareness)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 인공지능 윤리의식에 대한 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교 학생들의 성차를 분석하는 것이다. 과연 인공지능 윤리의식에 성차가 존재하는지, 존재한다면 언제부터 성차가 발생하는지를 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 본 연구는 I 광역시 초등학생 198명(여학생 98명, 남학생 100명), 중학생 265명(여학생 166명, 남학생 99명), 고등학생 114명(여학생 58명, 남학생 56명)을 대상으로 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체 남학생과 여학생 사이의 인공지능 윤리의식의 성차가 확인되었다. 둘째, 인공지능 윤리의식의 성차는 초등학교에서 중학교, 고등학교로 학령이 높아질수록 확고해지는 경향이 있었다. 셋째, 초등학생, 중학생, 고등학생 모든 단계에서 여학생은 아직 인공지능에 대한 신뢰성이 그리 높지 않고, 차별 금지에 대한 우려가 남학생에 비해 크며, 예술 등의 분야에서 인공지능의 인간 영역에의 진입 허용에 대해 부정적인 입장을 가지고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 넷째, 학령과 성별의 상호 작용 효과는 안정성 및 신뢰성, 그리고 허용과 한계 범주에서 확인되었다. 이러한 결과들을 종합해 볼 때, 인공지능 교육 활동시 인공지능 윤리의식에 성차가 생기지 않도록 교육 프로그램을 양성 평등적으로 접근하는 교육적 방안이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

고등학교 과학 교과의 효과적인 수업 방법에 대한 고등학생과 과학교사들의 인지프레임 특성 (Characteristics of High School Students' and Science Teachers' Cognitive Frame about Effective Teaching Method for High School Science Subject)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고등학교 과학 교과의 효과적인 수업방법에 대해 고등학교 과학교사들과 고등학생들이 가지고 있는 인지프레임을 조사하고, 그들이 2009 개정 과학과 교육과정의 고등학교 과학에서 제시하고 있는 교수학습 방법을 어떻게 이해하고 있는지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 275명의 고등학교 과학 교사와 275명의 고등학생으로부터 데이터를 수집하였고, 수집된 데이터는 언어네트워크 분석법을 통하여 단어 분석과 프레임 분석을 하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학교 과학 교사들은 문제해결능력과 탐구능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 학생 중심의 수업이 효과적이라고 인식하고 있다. 반면 고등학생들은 교사들이 충분한 자료를 제시하여야 하고 대학 진학에 도움이 될 수 있는 수업이 효과적이라고 인식하고 있다. 둘째, 두 집단은 모두 2009 개정 과학과 교육과정을 충분히 반영하지 못한 인지프레임을 가지고 있다. 특히 두 집단은 융합 또는 통합이라는 요소를 그들의 인지프레임에 연결시키지 못하고 있고, 여러 과학 분야의 내용들이 서로 밀접하게 관련되어 있다는 사실을 인식하지 못하고 있다. 그러므로 교사들이 고등학교 과학 교육과정에 대해 명확하게 이해하고 이를 실행할 수 있도록 현직 연수를 강화시킬 필요가 있다.
