A 14-year-old, castrated male mixed-breed dog weighing 9 kg was presented for hematuria and dysuria. Abdominal ultrasound showed unilateral hydronephrosis and hydroureter with focal thickening of the ureteral wall. Surgical exploration revealed an intraluminal mass arising from the proximal left ureter. Mass resection was performed. Histopathology of the ureteral mass was consistent with a papillary transitional cell carcinoma. The patient recovered well post-operatively, but was diagnosed with another tumor three months later, this time in the right kidney. Fine-needle aspiration cytology of the renal mass revealed an epithelial cell tumor with mesenchymal features.

This study analyzed the trends and causes of the decline in Korean students' positive experiences about science (PES). To do this, 4th to 10th grade students were sampled by grade at general elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul, and then a questionnaire was administered to ask the students about their PES and the causes for their decline. The results of one-way ANOVA for Test for Indicators of Positive Experiences about Science (TIPES) revealed that there were no statistically significant differences according to grade and school level in the overall mean of TIPES scores. However, the results were slightly different for each sub-component. That is, in 'science academic emotion,' the mean of elementary school students was statistically significantly higher than that of middle school students. In addition, the mean of 4th graders was significantly higher than the mean of middle school 1st graders, middle school 3rd graders, and high school 1st graders, respectively. The mean of high school students was statistically significantly higher than that of middle school students in 'science-related career aspiration.' In the 'science-related self-concept', 'science learning motivation,' and 'science-related attitude,' the differences in scores according to grade and school level were not statistically significant. The main causes of the decline in each sub-components of PES were somewhat different depending on the school level. Based on these results, the ways to improve students' PES were sought according to grade and school level.
This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of early pregnant cow as donor for Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) derived oocyte aspiration and embryo production in Holstein heifers. Four non-pregnant and 2 pregnant Holstein heifers were used as donor and then carried out total 17 OPU session for 10 weeks (2 times per week). Recovered cumulus-oocyte-complexes (COCs) were classified into 4 grade by oocyte cytoplasm and cumulus cells and matured in vitro in TCM-199 supplemented with 10% FBS, 10 mg/ml FSH and 1 mg/ml estradiol in 5% $CO_2$ and over 99% humidity for 24 h. After 24 h co-incubation with post-thaw sperm, the presumed zygotes were cultured in CR1aa medium with 4 mg/ml BSA for 3 days and then changed CR1aa medium with 10% of FBS for another 3~4 days. The Mean number of aspirated follicles and collected oocytes in the early stage pregnant and non-pregnant heifers were $13.0{\pm}4.3$ and $10.6{\pm}3.9$, $5.4{\pm}3.4$ and $7.7{\pm}3.6$ per session, respectively. Rate of collected oocyte from aspirated follicles were 59.2% and 50.5%, respectively. The average number of good quality oocytes (Grade I and II) in the early stage pregnant and non-pregnant heifers was $3.7{\pm}2.7$ and $4.9{\pm}2.6$ (Mean${\pm}$SD). Cleavage and blastocyst developmental rates in Grade I and II were 22.2% and 25.5%, and then $1.7{\pm}0.9$ and $1.4{\pm}1.1$ blastocyst per session, respectively. In conclusion, OPU technology can be used in early stage pregnant and non-pregnant heifers without any problem and so applied OPU derived embryo production to maximize the ability of genetically valuable females.
The purpose of this study is to identify disciplinary professors' core competencies in Div. Military Science student. To best accomplish the study, I select core competencies in the precedent study about Disciplinary Professors' Core Competencies studies. The 5 factors of core competencies are as follow ; teaching core competency, evaluation core competency, guidance core competency, class management core competency, speciality development core competency. Through this study I developed disciplinary process model. This model is conducted to fit the structural relationship among the disciplinary professors' core competencies and students' life satisfaction and aspiration for military occupation. But this study has some restriction, so we should study actual proof the more.

The study compared the cytological features of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in liquid-based preparations (LBPs) and conventional Pap (CP) smears from fine needle aspiration (FNA), and assessed the feasibility of LBP using the Cell Scan $1500^{TM}$ processor on thyroid FNA samples. Thyroid FNA samples were obtained from 883 consecutive patients. Each sample was divided into two and used for LBPs and CP smears. All were screened independently in a double-blind manner. From the 883 cases, 95 cases were diagnosed as PTC in one or both types of preparation (10.8%). PTC was diagnosed via CP smears in 83 cases (87.4%) and via LBPs in 70 cases (73.7%). However, there were differences in categorization between the paired preparations: Twelve (12) PTCs were misinterpreted in CP smears and 25 PTCs in LBPs. There was a significant discrepancy in the rate of detection of the diagnostic features, with LBPs having a lower detection rate. One (1) case (1.2%) of CP smears and 16 cases (22.9%) of LBPs were categorized as unsatisfactory/nondiagnostic in a total of the 95 PTCs. To conclude, the detection rate of the diagnostic features of PTC is lower in Cell Scan 1500TM samples than in CP smears. However, there are some cases in which a diagnosis of PTC is made in LBPs, but not in CP smears. Therefore, definitive cancer diagnosis in thyroid FNA preparations is likely to result from agreement between direct smears and Cell Scan 1500TM preparations.
A fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is the primary means of distinguishing benign from malignant in thyroid nodules. However, between 10 and 30% of the FNABs of thyroid nodules are diagnosed as 'indeterminate'. A molecular method is needed to reduce unnecessary surgery in this group. In Korea, most thyroid cancer is classic papillary type and BRAFV600E mutation is highly prevalent. Thus, this study compared the pyrosequencing method with the conventional direct DNA sequencing and PCR-RFLP analysis and investigated the evaluation of preoperative BRAFV600E mutation analysis as an adjunct diagnostic method with routine FNABs. Sixty-five (78.3%) of 83 histopathologically diagnosed malignant nodule revealed positive BRAFV600E mutation on pyrosequencing analysis. In detail, 65 (83.8%) of 78 papillary thyroid carcinomas sample showed positive BRAFV600E mutation. None of 29 benign nodules had in pyrodequencing, direct DNA sequencing and PCR-RFLP. Out of 31 thyroid nodules classified as 'indeterminate' on cytological examination preoperatively, 28 cases turned out to be malignant: 24 papillary thyroid carcinomas. Among that, 16 (66.7%) classic papillary thyroid carcinomas had BRAFV600E mutation. Among 65 papillary thyroid carcinomas with positive BRAFV600E mutation detected by pyrosequencing analysis, each 3 cases and 5 cases did not show BRAFV600E mutation by direct DNA sequencing and PCR-RFLP analysis. Therefore, pyrosequencing was superior to direct DNA sequencing and PCR-RFLP in detecting the BRAFV600E mutation of thyroid nodules (p =0.027). Detecting BRAFV600E mutation by pyrosequencing was more sensitivity, faster than direct DNA sequencing or PCR-RFLP.
This research how self-esteem and consumption behavior for adolescent consumers are differentiated different psychological home environment and how the psychological home environment during adolescence self-esteem and consumption behavior. The result of the research as follows. First, when the psychological home environment categorized in 4 subgroups, accomplishment-non-accomplishment zone had average 3 points sense of non-accomplishment. Setting the aspiration level and striving to achieve such level were reviewed to be low. In autonomous-heteronomous, it is thought that with more allowance more responsible for actions and autonomous actions such as respecting personal opinions. Secondly, all 5 sub-groups of the self-esteem level for adolescent consumers showed average of approximately 3 points, a normal standard self-esteem When the overall school score is high self-esteem was also given high points. It can be thought that the school scores provide positive or negative effect on pride, future and surrounding situations. When psychological home environment was deemed positive in the relationship between psychological home environment and self-esteem, evaluation and the faith how other people recognize one were also thought positively. Thirdly, 4 subgroups of the consuming behavior for adolescent consumers had under 3 points for trend pursuit, showing a less severe trend pursuit by adolescents then expected. Consumer behavior for different psychological home environment and self-esteem showed that consumers selected a utility, while trendy and unique consumer behavior was found with middle level of open-closeness when a sense of accomplishment was significant among the psychological home environment.

Because of the lack of resources on the importance of cell block, the diagnosis of cytologic specimen has been overlooked. Out of 1,243 cases of non-gynecologic cytology specimen, about 87.1% has been proven to be diagnostically useful. About 0.9% of those were rendered diagnostic by cell block alone. If cell block was not made it could have resulted in misdiagnosis. The effect on making cell block might not be directly linked to the patient but to the pathologist, it can be a helpful secondary tool in lowering the chance of giving false negative results hence. Giving the patient the opportunity of an adequate treatment. This study has proven that cell block has diagnostic value in non-gynecologic cytology. We are doing our best to increase the production rate of cell block and to improve the quality of cytology smears and cell block, so that we can increase the accuracy of diagnosis.

A novel method was developed for the speciation of chromium in natural water samples based on homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction and determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). In this method, Cr(III) reacts with a new Schiff's base ligand to form the hydrophobic complex, which is subsequently entrapped in the sediment phase, whereas Cr(VI) remained in aqueous phase. The Cr(VI) assay is based on its reduction to Cr(III) by the addition of sodium sulfite to the sample solution. Thus, separation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) could be realized. Homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction based on the pH-independent phase-separation process was investigated using a ternary solvent system (water-tetrabutylammonium ion ($TBA^+$)-chloroform) for the preconcentration of chromium. The phase separation phenomenon occurred by an ion-pair formation of TBA and perchlorate ion. Then sedimented phase was separated using a $100\;{\mu}L$ micro-syringe and diluted to 1.0 mL with ethanol. The sample was introduced into the flame by conventional aspiration. After the optimization of complexation and extraction conditions such as pH = 9.5, [ligand] = $1.0{\times}10^{-4}\;M$, [$TBA^+$] = $2.0{\times}10^{-2}\;M$, [$CHCl_3$] = $100.0\;{\mu}L$ and [$ClO_4$] = $2.0{\times}10{-2}\;M$, a preconcentration factor (Va/Vs) of 100 was obtained for only 10 mL of the sample. The relative standard deviation was 2.8% (n = 10). The limit of detection was sufficiently low and lie at ppb level. The proposed method was applied for the extraction and determination of chromium in natural water samples with satisfactory results.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the experience process of nursing students who have participated in a major converged short-term study abroad program and to present the future direction of short-term study abroad. Methods: This study is a qualitative study based on the grounded theory and method in nursing students' experience of major in a major converged short-term study abroad program. Results: The core category emerged as 'finding myself in another me'. 'as experience the difference' emerged as a causal condition. Action/interaction strategies were found to provide students with these effects: 'a change of attitude on life', 'find continued support resources', 'due to hard reality, putting down the aspiration'. Shown in these results of this study, nursing students were seen to have the simultaneous effect of 'to live as the organizers of life', and 'return to the old life'. Conclusions: The nursing students experience a positive impact on their attitude towards life.
