The purpose of this study was to provide a blouse pattern of high school girls' uniform for production of good silhouette and fitness blouse as well as functionality. In this study, we compared blouse patterns of high school girls' uniform made in the three brands of higher market share being compared. The blouse was the most common design of high school girls' uniforms being sold. In addition, we compared characteristics of appearance and functionality of blouse patterns by the wearing test. Based on the results of pattern comparison and wearing test of the blouses, the new blouse pattern for high school girls' uniform was developed. The results of the wearing test for appearance showed that the developed blouse obtained statistically higher ratings than the existing brands in almost items. The results of the wearing test for functionality of the developed blouse showed that items related with sleeve cap were evaluated a rating below 3. In order to improve functionality, the developed blouse pattern was changed that the sleeve cap was lowered by 0.5cm and the sleeve breadth increased by 1cm. The drafting of the new blouse pattern was developed.
This study was performed to find ways to improve the wearing comfort of high school boys' summer uniforms. The subjects were 640 boy students of high schools in Cheongju and Ansung city. The data was collected self-administered questionnaires to measure the actual wearing condition and the wearing satisfaction. Factor analysis, t-test, and F-test were used for data analysis. The results were as fellows: 1) Most students were wearing shirts made of polyester/rayon blended fabrics and pants made of wool/polyester blended fabrics. 2) Most students were wearing round neckline T-shirts or running shirts as underwears of the shirts, and trunks as pants. 3) About a half of respondents had altered their summer uniforms, and main alteration of their uniforms was focused on making their pants narrow. 4) The wearing satisfaction of uniforms were classifies into three factors: aesthetic, moving function, thermal comfort wearing sensation. 5) They evaluated the wearing sensation of school uniforms of shirts and pants with low satisfaction. 6) There were partially significant differences in three factors of the wearing satisfaction according to the uniform's fabrics, the wearing of underwear and the alteration of uniform.
This research attempts to analyze the physical characteristics of middle school girls and compare the product sizes and patterns of school uniform blouses by brand. And wearing tests were performed regarding the appearance of blouse by bland. The results are follows. The standard deviation for bust circumference and waist circumference of middle school girls measured in 2004 were showed extremely large difference among individuals compared to the previous results. While waist back length reached adult size by $2^{nd}$ grade high school, bishoulder length reached adult size by $2^{nd}$ grade middle school. And girls after $2^{nd}$ grade middle school had their depth and breadth of bust, underbust circumference and bust circumference growing proportionally. These results need to be reflected in producing a pattern drafting for middle schoolers. By comparing wearing test results on appearance, it was shown that in terms of ease of bust circumference, the expert group evaluated brand with less ease as not having adequate ease compared to brand, while the middle schooler group evaluated as having sufficient ease. The front silhouette also showed same results. This reflects the preference for appearance by the middle schooler group, which is a factor to be considered during pattern drafting of school uniform blouse.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the wearing sensation and satisfaction of high school girls winter uniform' jacket. The subject participated in the study were 599 high school girls attending four different schools. The fabrics were divided into two parts of stretch and non-stretch woven fabrics. The results were as follows: 1. The high school girls showed body image distortion that she recognized herself as fatter than her real body type. Especially, this was severe in the slim body type. 2. In the aspect of the satisfaction for uniforms' jacket made with stretch fabric and non-stretch woven fabric. the elastic fabric was more satisfied than the non-stretch one because its width and length was shorter and fitter than non-stretch one. 3. When they wore the school uniform jacket, the wearing sensation of one made with stretch and non-stretch woven fabrics showed significant differences in arms hole when raising hands, front bust when carrying backpack on their back, backs while studying at desks, the upper arms and the elbows. 4. As for the alteration of school uniform jacket, the non-stretch woven fabric was appeared to be altered more than the stretch one.
We researched the comfort degree of 8 bodily parts while high school students carry out 9 different motions common to them. We observed high school students to study active effection when they are wearing Saenghwal Hanboks as a school uniform. As a result of this study, the highest degrees of comfort were recorded at standing position, walking, and upright sitting position with one's waist keeping 90 degree. On the other hand, the lowest degrees of comfort were experienced when they bend forward 45 degree and 90 degree each, and also when arms were folded across the chest. Furthermore, students reported that their buttocks, waist, and knees were comfortable during observation period, but that their backs, shoulders, and arm hole were uncomfortable throughout. In general, girls felt more comfortable than boys did, while they were wearing Saenghwal Hanbok as a school uniform.

This study intends to provide sources which enable students to satisfy uniform design as I surveyed preferable uniform design and degree of satisfaction of uniform design to students. The subjects were gathered into 91 middle-high schools and surveys were done among 400 school girls. The results are as follows; 1)The survey of uniform which students wear. For jacket, tailored collar which is single breasted is most common and for blouse, puff sleeve, soutein collar, shirt collar is common. For skirt, lastly, they usually wear side pleats skirt. 2) Thoughts of uniform students preferred uniform to casual. The merit of wearing uniform can represent themselves as the ‘students’on the other hand, the demerit is shown that uniform is inconvenient enough to move. 3)Preference of uniform design. Students prefer tailored jacket, shirt blouse, flare skirt. Basing on these results above, I’d like to suggest something about uniform. The demerit of wearing uniform lies in inconvenience. It would weaken the degree of satisfaction of uniform and have a negative influence on students in physical and mental side. So we have to find out the concrete problems, at the same time, develop measurable study which fit for body. Adolescence is period of developing and establishing self. So they really need rather creative educational atmosphere than stereo typed-control. Reflecting this opinion, Clothing habits can play an important role and in future it is desirable to have students wear not uniform but casual.

The purpose of the research is to investigate the payment for clothing and clothing management behavior of the elementary school student children, and to study if there is any specific preference toward clothing according to whether or not they wear school uniform. 403 mothers of two elementary school students in Taegu were selected for this study. 1. There is no difference in the times of purchasing clothing between uniform group and nonuniform group. 2. Compared with their money earning, uniform wearing group more money in their clothing purchasing nonuniform group paid less money regardless of their earning. 3. There is a significant of laundry practices in nonuniform group compared with uniform group. 4. According to the inquiry of the clothing concept between uniform group and nonuniform group, uniform group showed higher satisfaction with their uniform than nonuniform group with their nonuniform. 5. Uniform group showed high positive view on the uniform, and both groups showed partial positive view on the nonuniform. There was a positive correlation among clothing payment, clothing management behavior, and clothing dynamics of both groups.

The purpose of this study is to satisfy students in adolescent trends of school uniforms and to provide them with useful material with matching current fashions by analyzing the attitude of students toward uniform transformation in female highschool students and investigating factors influencing on behaviors of uniform transformation. The subjects of this study are 30 students in Daegu with the basic ways of investigating such as depth interview and survey. The results are as follows; First, students agree to wearing school uniforms. As the main reason for wearing school uniforms, students put emphasis on peer pressure. It is also analyzed that the figure of students' body have some influence on the attitude of students toward wearing uniform while students' appearance have no influence on the attitude of students toward wearing uniform. Second, students showed high satisfaction in school uniforms. While students are satisfied with design and color of school uniform, they are not satisfied with practicality, economic efficiency and the quality of textile. Third, the study shows most students have experience of uniform transformation as a result of depth interview about actual condition of uniform transformation. Whereas students usually wear the jacket with its width and length shortened, they tend to lengthen skirt and unstitch pleat of skirt. Fourth, there are many reasons for uniform transformation as a result of depth interview with students. Transformation for satisfying aesthetic desire tops the list, followed by transformation for matching, transformation for peer pressure. As shown by the results above, every school needs to make various efforts to satisfy students, teachers and parents by considering and using students' opinion in order to choose the better school uniforms. In addition, the study related to school uniform transformation need to have more various investigating ways to acquire more authentic results such as expanding the subjects to not only students but also teachers and parents and in-depth comparison between subjects.
The purpose of this study is to research the difference between the size suggested by brand uniforms and the size suitable for high school girls. We compared and analyzed the size system of brand uniforms after researching the wearing conditions of uniforms of 4 brands (A, B, C, D) in order to establish a size system of brand uniforms that fits different body types of teenagers. First, we conduct research on the actual condition of brand uniforms worn by high school girls, and investigate unsatisfactory factors and problems. Second, we actually measure the uniform size of each brand and analyze measurement differences between each brand. Our results show each brand uniform has different size specifications and the importance of appropriate size specification is greater as students select uniform based on design and brand awareness rather than body size. Compared with the average body size the skirt and especially the blouse is much smaller with no extra room compared with standard size 85 blouses and size 71 skirts. Therefore, the adjustment of size specification is needed in brand school uniforms. However, a larger scale investigation is needed as this study was conducted with a limited sample size.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the wearing sensation and satisfaction of high school girls' winter uniform jackets according to the fabrics and the shapes. The fabrics were divided into four parts of stretch and non-stretch woven fabrics. The shapes were divided into two parts of tight and general types. The results were as followings: 1. In the aspect of the appearance evaluation for the uniform jackets, silhouette and length item showed significant differences in fabric and shape. The non-stretch woven fabric and tight type was more satisfying than the stretch fabric and general type because its silhouette and length were shorter and fitter than the stretch one and general type. The jackets of non-stretch woven fabric of tight type were evaluated as the thinnest in the silhouette and were evaluated as the shortest in the length. Conversely, the jackets of stretch woven fabric of general type were evaluated as the thickest and longest. 2. As for the wearing sensation of school uniform jacket, all test items showed significant differences in fabric and shape. The stretch fabric and general type was more satisfying than the non-stretch woven fabric and tight type because the jacket of stretch fabric and general type was felt more comfortable in activities, and wearing. Accordingly, the appearance evaluation for uniforms' jacket is in sharp contrast with that of wearing sensation.
