  • Modern society is operated based on the internet, wireless networks, and digital devices to the extent that it is called a digital society. In particular, as most of financial transactions, information movement, and commercial activities are based online, various social problems and side effects related to this are increasing rapidly. Representative examples include industrial espionage activities and leakage of industrial technology, and social problems such as illegal goods trade such as drugs using online and online gambling are increasing to a serious level. These digital-based social problems cannot be solved only by the activities and capabilities of judicial institutions such as police and prosecutors. Now that the private investigation market is open, active intervention using them is necessary. To this end, it is necessary to actively cultivate private investigator's ability to investigate and collect evidence in relation to digital social and criminal problems. In addition, each private investigation education institution or association should actively invest and research this.

  • Purpose - This study examines previous research on organizational silence for several decades since the concept of organizational silence was firstly suggested in 2000. In this study, based on previous studies on organizational silence published in domestic and international journals from 2010 to 2022, research trends were analyzed, issues were derived, and future research was suggested. Design/methodolgy/approach - The authors searched relevant keywords such as organizational silence, employee silence, employee voice and so on in the domestic as well as international academic database. 63 domestic papers were found, and based on these articles, we analyzed the research trends. Findings - Similar variables were proven with only different contextual samples without any originality in the theoretical perspective. Moreover, studies on the causal relationship between each type of organizational silence and the occurrence of organizational silence over time were also insufficient. In addition, because research on public organizations was limited to police officers and public officials, future research is needed to investigate more different organizational situations. Furthermore, other variables such as personal characteristics and leadership factors were also relatively unexplored. Based on these limitations, future research is needed to consider more diverse demographics, Korean cultural factors, organizational characteristics, and the patterns changes in time. Research implications or Originality - This study suggests limitations as well as future directions by summarizing the previous research on organizational silence which is an emerging issue in global societies and the organizational management filed.

  • Due to COVID-19, much research has been conducted on learning loss and educational gaps due to the postponement of the start of school and prolonged online distance learning, and most of the research has focused on the phenomenon of educational gaps. If a pandemic situation like this occurs in the future, fundamental policies are needed to resolve the educational gap. A fundamental solution requires not only an understanding of the educational gap phenomenon, but also the structure behind the phenomenon. Therefore, from a structuralist perspective, this study sought to model the educational gap caused by COVID-19 as a prototype of systems thinking and identify its structure. In addition, we looked at the unintended consequences resulting from policies aimed at resolving existing educational gaps. In order to respond to similar disaster situations in the future, policies for resolving the digital gap, support for basic academic skills, quality improvement for distance learning, and self-directed learning were discussed based on the structure of this study.

  • Police agency is indicated that the number of children's traffic accident is tending downwards, however about one child is dead every day due to traffic accident. Major parts of the accidents happen during walking; among the rest, jaywalking is the biggest reason. Many accidents take plate on the road to school or near the home so government legislate children safeguard zone at 1995. According to the legislation, drivers have to reduce speed and there are safety facilities for children at children safeguard zone. This study finds the problems of children safeguard zone and suggest more effective and quantitative method for children safeguard zone. Firstly this study grasps the characters of children's pattern movement and children's traffic accident at children safeguard zone and then divides specific danger factors of children's traffic accident at children safeguard zone. Secondly, each factor is given danger level depending on danger degree and suggests effective method for assignment standard of children safeguard zone using all of these things.

  • [ $SnO_2$ ] and ZnO nanostructures were grown on the surface of thin film by heat treatment of metal Sn, Zn under Ar gas flow and $O_2$ at atmospheric pressure, respectively. The sensitivity of the $SnO_2$ thin film device on which grown nanowires to CO gas(5,000 ppm) was 50 % at the operating temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. In case of using Pt as catalysts, the sensitivity was enhanced and operating temperature was reduced(73 % at $150^{\circ}C$ ). The sensitivity of the ZnO nanorods device using Cu as catalysts to NOx gas was 90 % at the operating temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. It was found that the sensitivity to CO and NOx gases for the device on which grown nanostructures was much higher than those for general thin film device.

  • Now we are facing with a possibility of having crimes, which have been only possible offline, in cyber spaces as well.Especially, a recent growth in the use of SNS, promoted by popularization of smart phones, also has led an abrupt increase in cyber crime. It would be important to have a understanding of cyber crime and its characteristics by type as well as factors associated with each type of cyber crime in order to devise appropriate preventive measures against cyber crime. However, most of the previous studies on cyber crimesolely made through literature review or indirect approaches. Therefore, this study has been designed to conduct the interview with actual suspects(criminals) of cyber crime to address factors of cyber crime and to devise specific preventive measures and countermeasures against cyber crime. Especially, among various types of cyber crime, this study aims at addressing the 'trades' and 'financial transaction' of crimes committed using the information and communication network and the 'cyber libel/insult'of crimes committed using unlicensed contents, which have been soared recently and become significant issues. The findings of this study could be beneficial for the society since it has managed to conduct the interview and reveal relationships among major factors of cyber crime. The findings of this study could be used for devising and developing proper preventive and countermeasures against cyber crime, in turn reducing and preventing its damage.

  • During the period from 2001 to 2005, 29,892 burglaries took place in Korea with the approximate average annual number - 5,978 cases. This study was conducted to analyze the reported burglaries and the result was summarized as follows. There were 8,605 residential invasion burglaries (28.8%) as the most frequent characteristic pattern. The exit was used as the most frequent invasion route for 4,031 invasion burglaries (64.3%), and an unlocked exit door or window was used as the most frequent invasion method for 2,462 invasion burglaries (28.6%). The hours just after midnight (between 00:00 and 04:00) were the most frequent time for invasion burglary to occur. Also, 5,652 burglaries occurred on Wednesday which was twice higher than on Sunday (2,988 burglaries). It was shown that the number of persons injured during burglaries were 260 deaths and 10,610 injuries. The places of the highest occurrence were the street with 10,183 burglaries (34%) and then residential place with 7,527 burglaries (approximately 25%). One-man burglary was the highest complicity: 15,012 offenders (56.1%). The knife was used as the most frequent instrument for 6,498 burglaries (24,3%) what is rare, while no criminal tool or instrument was used for 15,631 burglaries (58.4). During the period from 2001 to 2006, 1,506 burglaries occurred in Daegu and the average annual number was 251 burglaries. Among those,515 residential invasion burglaries (34.2%) took place and the average annual number was approximately 86 cases. The hours just after midnight (between 00:00 and 04:00) were the most frequent time for invasion burglary to occur (194 cases, 37.7%), the place of the highest invasion occurrence was the residential place (259 cases, 50.3%), and the exit was used as the most frequent invasion route (87 cases, 37.7%). An unlocked exit door or window was the most frequent invasion method (65 cases, 25.1%). In addition, pretending to be a delivery man, visitor or following the victim methods were used for 26 burglaries (10%). It is apparent that personal preventive measures against crimes, as well as governmental and social measures, play an important role in preventing burglaries. In particular, based on the analyzed result that an unlocked window or exit door was most frequently used for reported burglaries, it seems that there is a lack of understanding of crime prevention while little effort has been made to prevent crimes. Although everyone knows that locking a door is one of the basic measures to prevent crimes, many people tend to pay little attention to lock a door properly so burglary takes place. This study, therefore, is intended to encourage people to pay more careful attention to crime prevention, in order to help reduce the probability of burglary. With the recent improvement in social understanding of scientific crime investigation, a wide variety of police professions, including crime analysts, crime victim police counselors and coroners, have been prepared to develop the scientific crime investigation and crime analysis. In addition, it is hoped that further this study will contribute to encourage studies on crime prevention to be carried out in the future.

  • Objective: Hyperstimulation methods are broadly used for in vitro fertilization (IVF) in patients with infertility; however, the side effects associated with these therapies, such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), have not been well studied. N-glycoproteomes are subproteomes used for the remote sensing of ovarian stimulation in follicular growth. Glycoproteomic variation in human follicular fluid (hFF) has not been evaluated. In this study, we aimed to identify and quantify the glycoproteomes and N-glycoproteins (N-GPs) in natural and stimulated hFF using label-free nano-liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization-quad time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Methods: For profiling of the total proteome and glycoproteome, pooled protein samples from natural and stimulated hFF samples were selectively isolated using hydrazide chemistry to obtain the total proteomes and glycoproteomes. N-GPs were validated by the consensus sequence N-X-S/T (92.2% specificity for the N-glycomotif at p<0.05). All data were compared between natural versus hyperstimulated hFF samples. Results: We detected 41 and 44 N-GPs in the natural and stimulated hFF samples, respectively. Importantly, we identified 11 N-GPs with greater than two-fold upregulation in stimulated hFF samples compared to natural hFF samples. We also validated the novel N-GPs thyroxine-binding globulin, vitamin D-binding protein, and complement proteins C3 and C9. Conclusion: We identified and classified N-GPs in hFF to improve our understanding of follicular physiology in patients requiring assisted reproduction. Our results provided important insights into the prevention of hyperstimulation side effects, such as OHSS.

  • Purpose : This study evaluated the impact of the presence and aspect of mandibular third molars to the mandible angle fracture or condyle fractures in Korean. Materials and Methods : A retrospective study was designed for patients attending the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Kang-dong sacred heart hospital for treatment of mandibular fracture from January 2006 to September 2010. The primary variable was the presence of mandibular third molar and the secondary variable was the aspects of third molar impaction. Mandibular third molars were classified by the impaction depth and the available space as Pell & Gregory system. Outcome variables were the presence of mandibular angle fracture or condyle fracture. Also the source of trauma, age, sex were studied. Hospital charts, radiographs were used for study. Statistic analysis was done with descriptive statistics, the X2-test, linear-by-linear association. P value under 0.05 was considered significant statistically. Results : The number of involved patients was 86. The ratio of male to female patients was about 9:1 for angle fracture and 7:3 for condyle fracture. The most common source of trauma was assault for angle fracture and fall down for condyle fracture. The presence of mandibular third molar increased frequency of angle fracture and decreased condyle fracture with larger impaction depth. But available space of mandibular third molar did not show high association with angle or condyle fractures. Conclusion: Preventive extraction of mandibular third molar is recommended for patients with high risk of angle fracture. Male patients at their third decade or martial artists, police officer could be the case. But it is not recommended for patients with low risk of angle fracture and high risk of condyle fracture relatively. Elder female patients without any symptom on their third molar could be the case.

  • RUVIS(Reflective Ultraviolet Imaging System) is an effective equipment that detects the location of latent fingerprint at crime scene using short wavelength ultraviolet of 254 nm. In this study, the degree of DNA damage in biological samples was compared depending on the distance and time of processing using four commonly used RUVIS. 50% of DNA was damaged by treating 10 seconds at 10 cm distance in 3 types of RUVIS such as Police RUVIS, SIRCHIE mini light and SIRCHIE RUVIS. In addition, the degree of DNA damage was increased as the distance was closer and the treatment time was longer. It showed that short wavelength UV could cause DNA damage when used close to the samples at crime scene. Therefore, it was suggested to use RUVIS at a distance of at least 1 m. The degree of DNA damage was not significant by Polilight which used long wavelength ultraviolet of 350 nm. As a result, the choice and usage of which UV light and RUVIS were critical for detection of fingerprint and successful DNA typing.
