This study utilizes raw data from the first-ever Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) conducted in 2017 and its purpose is to identify factors that influences Daily toothbrushing frequency and use of oral health care products for adolescents aged 13 to 18 years in conjunction with their mothers. Factors affecting Daily toothbrushing frequency of adolescents are: Whether the mother smokes or not, and Daily toothbrushing frequency for the mother. The more the mother younger and smoked and brushed her teeth, the higher the number of sessions increased for the adolescent child. The higher the mothers' level of education and use of oral care products were the greater the adolescent child's use of oral care products became. As a result, the study determined that the oral health of adolescents and of their mothers are closely related. A program to educate adolescents and mothers to promote the oral health of adolescents should be developed, and continuously and systematically implemented at home and school.

Purpose: This descriptive research study aimed to identify and strengthen the knowledge, attitudes, and performances related to first aid for patients with oral and maxillofacial trauma among 119 EMTs working at 119 safety centers and local stations in Jeollanam-do, South Korea. Methods: An online questionnaire was distributed among 144 119 EMTs working at fire stations in Jeollanam-do from August 1 to August 15, 2022. Results: The factors that influenced the knowledge of oral and maxillofacial trauma among the 119 EMTs included qualification (β=.113, p=.005) and performance (β=.837, p=.005), and those influential to attitudes were qualification (β=0.194, p=.005), ordinary interest (β=0.242, p=.005), and the need for education (β=.285, p=.005). The only factor that influenced the performance of first aid for patients with oral and maxillofacial trauma was knowledge (β=.900, p=.005). Conclusion: Considering the nature of first aid for patients with oral and maxillofacial trauma, it is necessary to organize practical knowledge and educational content tailored to the characteristics of each task. This should be simultaneously conducted with practice-oriented simulation education.

This practice was mainly progressed based on average 4 students as one team per each one school for 7-8 hours a day during the period of more than 5 weeks(p<0.05). However, in case of both school and community health center, almost half of feedback after practice was not achieved and there was a difference in needs for practice education between schools and community health center. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics and prevalence of periodontal disease in a representative sample of Korean adults older than age 20. Methods: Data of 3,837 adults were collected by the six Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which was conducted in 2015. Socioeconomic, demographic, and oral health-related behavior data were collected as independent variables. We determined frequencies, percentage, and determining statistical significance using multiple regression analysis. Results: Prevalence of periodontal diseases showed statistically significant difference in accordance with sex, age, socioeconomic and demographical characteristics and oral health-related behavior. It was confirmed that the prevalence of periodontal diseases was increased in the lower educational level and income (OR, 1.478 and 1.520) after adjusting for conditions such as age, sex, recent dental check-ups, visiting dental clinic, tooth brushing frequency, use of self-care devices. Conclusions: The prevalence of periodontal disease was related with socioeconomic factors in Korean adults. Therefore, differentiated oral health service policies and dental health education among adults with lower education and income is required in order to reduce the prevalence of periodontal disease.
The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation of oral health behavior, oral health state and PHP in an effort to facilitate the promotion of oral health and improve oral health care. The subjects in this study were patients who got a scaling at the oral hygiene practice lab in the department of dental hygiene in S college dental clinic from September 5 to December 1, 2007. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The younger patients had a smaller number of FT index, and the older patients excelled the younger ones in oral health behavior involving the use of oral hygiene supplies, regular visit to dental clinics and dietary control. 2. The patients got 2.62 out of possible five points on oral health behavior, which indicated that their oral health behavior wasn't good enough. Those whose oral health behavior was better had a smaller number of DT index and a larger number of FT index. A better oral health behavior led to a lower PHP index. 3. There was a negative(-) interrelationship between oral health behavior and DT index, and oral health behavior had a positive(+) correlation with FT index. The oral health behavior had a negative(-) correlation to PHP index, which showed that a better oral health behavior led to a lower PHP index. The above-mentioned findings seem to suggest that oral health behavior is one of integral factors to affect oral health status and PHP index, and the kind of oral health education that could change oral health care attitude should be provided during scaling practice after grasping the actual oral health behavior of patients.
