The study has developed the scope and sequence of information literacy instruction's curriculum for integration strategies of traditional reading education, library use education and information literacy. For this purpose, this study compares and analyze the scope and sequence of reading education, library use education and information literacy instruction's curriculum in Korea, American and Japan. Basing on the comparative result, it proposed the scope and sequence of information literacy instruction's curriculum in Korea. The scope and sequence which it proposes based on the skill and process of information literacy model, it includes contents of traditional reading education, library use education. Also, supposed scope take in all format of information media, the process and strategies of information use, library and information system. the supposed sequence divided into elementary school(1-3), elementary school(1-4), middle school(1-3), high school(1-3)

Recently, the Ministry of Education is striving to move education and school libraries toward the information age and to create an atmosphere open education. School libraries need to be furnished with lots of useful materials for the curriculum of open education. School libraries need to be furnished with lots of useful materials for the curriculum of open education. Therefore, school libraries should adopt the concepts and techniques of marketing. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Nonprofit organizations such as school libraries should adopt the concepts and techniques of marketing to solve the problems for the rational management of the system. 2. Marketing techniques can be adopted in the areas such as collection development, service fee, selection of the place of library, advertising, better library user organization etc. 3. School libraries should be total educational information centers to realize educational goal and the curricular. 4. Procedures for marketing strategies for school libraries are embodied in mission statement, environmental analysis, marketing audit, marketing mix, marketing segmentation, evaluation methods etc. 5. The 4 "Ps", product, price, place, promotion make up the marketing mix for school libraries.libraries.

A school library manifesto means the policies and rules on school libraries and includes the direction which they should follow and the criteria which school libraries should keep. Compared the school library manifestos of IFLA/UNESCO, IASL with that of Japan, the school library manifestos of IFLA/UNESCO are constituted with mission of the school library, funding legislation and networks, goal of the school library, staff, operation and management, implementing manifesto etc. and underline funding legislation and networks. The IASL policy statement on school libraries includes functions, materials, facilities, personnel, lifelong education, skills, literacy development, government and public support etc. and emphasizes lifelong education, skills, literacy development. The school library manifesto of Japan includes philosophy, functions, staff, material, facilities and management etc. and highlights philosophy. As a result of comparison and analysis of the school library manifestos of IFLA/UNESCO, IASL and Japan with that of Korea, the school library manifesto of Korea needs to comprise mission, facilities, staff, lifelong education, skills, literacy development, funding legislation, operation and management, government responsibility for implementing the manifesto, etc. by accepting the components in the manifestos of advanced countries, stressing the educational roles of school libraries and by separating the educational area from others.

The 7th National Curriculum requires the part of a school library for supporting porformance evaluation, optional actives, and extracurricular activities. The school library which is very important part of school education needs support of necessary resources and adequate facilities for performing its functions effectively and efficiently. This reserch is based on the school library for present education to need. This short survey article examines the current curricula for library and information science education in the U. S. in order to implement them for our professional education in the field in Korea so as to produce qualified and competent graduates. Some of the prevailing trends in education and training for information professionals in the U. S. are as follows: 1. Library schools tend to incorporate information science into library school curricula to reflect their emphasis on this area, and attempt to develop close ties with all segments of the information industry; 2. Library schools actively participate in cooperative research with other agencies to explore ways of solving problems; 3. There is a diversity of education and training programs to meet the needs of a wide variety of information professionals, with library school faculty members being drawn from a wide range of scholarly disciplines; 4. New methods of teaching are being developed to support research and instructional activities; 5. There has been a significant change in the composition of the student body, now given a strong voice in the administration of the library school.

This study has been made under the purpose of revealing the real effectiveness of Library Application Education, Life and Career Education and Reading Education in order to seek for the activation of school library and right roles of librarian teachers and subject teachers through connected to school library educations according to the free-semester system. For that, the survey was made to 73 teachers and 112 students, who already experienced connected library educations. As a result, the most frequent educations made by teachers and students was Reading Education, the second one was Library Application Education and the least one was Life and Career Education. In the aspect of effectiveness in teachers and students, the result came out quite meaningful and for teachers, especially the manner in the field of expertism, the satisfaction level of teachers was high in Life and Career Education in format style and creativity in source materials. For the students, the meaningful effectiveness shows in interaction field. Based on the research: first, study about various models of Reading Education which will be applied in connected to school library education according to the free-semester system. Second, additional researches are necessary for the expansional aspect of Library Application Education, Life and Career Education and Reading. Third, continuous studies are essential for the elements which can contribute effectiveness. Fourth, offering many strategical methods are essential to demonstrate creativity for the increase in satisfaction level for teachers.

The purpose of this paper is to forecast the future of library education in Korea. Toward this purpose, first, the historical events of library education in the United States of America and in the United Kingdom are introduced along with the IFLA Standards for Library Schools and the Unesco's General Information Programme. Secondly, the theoretical foundations of library education are extracted from the events. Thirdly, the factors influencing library education as well as library developments are identified, and, finally, the prospects of library education are forecasted in the light of the various factors in the Korean society and the theoretical foundations. The prospects are forecasted as follows: 1. The education for information science will be incorporated in library education. 2. The number of courses related to library services and uses will be increased. 3. The students should be provided with enough hands-on experiences to be familiar with new information technology. 4. The cooperation between library schools and libraries will be reinforced. 5. The departments of library science will cooperate with other departments in the universities in order to utilize the expertise and facilities. 6. The education of graduate schools will be specialized to produce subject specialist librarians and the undergraduate education will produce public and school librarians. 7. Opportunities for continuing education will be provided more and librarians encouraged to participate in those activities. 8. Library association should actively be involved in library education as a provider of continuing education or as a liaison between library schools and libraries. 9. The courses of foundations including library history, library research and preservation of culture will never be neglected.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the literature on the effects of school libraries in US and use it as a base material for the study on effects of local school libraries. For this study, 37 documents were selected and these documents were analyzed based on the research contents and research results. And School library variables were extracted and synthesized. As a result of the study, The documents analyzed the effect of school library on various objects by various variables and analyzed teacher-librarians as the most important school library variable. And the documents indicated the teacher-librarian's role as information literacy education, reading education and collaboration with teachers for teaching. In Korea, it is necessary to study the effect of school library on students with disabilities, multicultural families and economically weak and to link school library standards with school library effect studies.

As school libraries increase quantitatively, the importance of volunteer activities in school library is highly emphasized. In that regard, this thesis approaches and discusses the concept of the school library and school library volunteers systematically through the literature review. Surveys and interviews were conducted to investigate and analyze school library volunteers. The survey was completed by school librarians and school library volunteers separately from the 12 elementary schools in the Seoul Dongjak District Office of Education. The current situation of school library volunteers has been analyzed through surveys and accompanied interviews and, based on the analysis, some suggestions were made to improve school library voluntary activities.

In this study it is surveyed how the educational objectives of orientation in Library & Information Science under current school system should be formed and presented as follows; First, there are many obstacles in overcoming problems and setting successfully education of Library & Information Science under the school system by Ministry of Education. To get over this clear objectives and goals of education must be presented. According to clarified goal of education curriculums must be formed systematically. As a result it is suggested that setting goal of education emphasizing on paralleling of fortifying of theory and conducting practical business rather than training of Information specialist. Second, in analysis of curriculum of library & Information Science it is divided into five categories; (1) 'information organization', (2) 'reference/bibliographical information', (3) 'management of library/ information center', (4) 'informatics' (5) 'library & Information science in general', then courses of each category are arranged and analyzed. As a result balanced development among categories and education is required. In short educational goal of library & Information Science must show basic philosophy, ideal, and direction of education. In addition it is ideal that educational goal of Library & Information Science be presented concretely and in feasible way. Thus in this context the goal and objectives of library & Information Science must be devised and amended, su n.0, pplement as circumstances change.
