Path planning is an essential problem to make virtual characters navigate in many applications including computer games. In many cases, multiple characters move in a group and qualitative aspects of planned paths are emphasized rather than optimality unlike Robotics. In this paper, we propose a two-level path planning algorithm in which the global path is planned for a single character specified as a leader and then the local path is planned to avoid dynamic obstacles while the group following this path. The space for group movement is achieved in the form of square grid array called a grid window. Member characters are located relatively to the leader within a space and moved. The static environment is reduced to the configuration space of this grid window to generate a roadmap on which a grid window can move. In local path planning, only the leader avoids dynamic obstacles by using an artificial potential field and the rest of members are located relatively to the leader in the grid window, which reduces computational load. Efficient algorithms to implement the proposed planning methods are introduced. The simulation results show that a group can handle with dynamic obstacles effectively while moving along the planned path for a static environment.

This paper presents a new method to control swarm robots so that they can keep the formation while following a curved path. The main idea is to utilize the information on the instant center of gyration. For a given path, location of the instant center of the formation center is calculated, and individual robots follow the circular path around the calculated instant center. Performance of curvature-radius based method is compared with leader-follower referenced method via MATLAB simulation.

The rapid development and widespread application of Internet has provided a platform for people to participate and discuss social hotspot events. In the meantime, social events may be spread throughout the Internet more quickly and widely than they did ever before, and possibly lead to serious social problems due to opinion violence or seditious rumour. This paper analyzed the Internet spread of social events, and presented a five-stage model to describe the evolution process of that spread. Furthermore, the improved IBF algorithm was applied to extract a pruned connected graph aiming to find the key nodes and the shortest spread path for the control of that spread. After analyzing the different factors that may cause the netizens' attention, this paper concluded BBS type, the visit quantity and the opinion leader are key factors which affect the Internet spread. Based on those researches, a life-cycle emergency management methodology and the related strategies were proposed for the achievement of healthy spreading environment on Internet.
The purpose of this study is to examine the competitive positions of five coffee shop brands(i.e., Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Hollys, Angelinus, and Tom N Toms) in Korea. For this study, data were gathered from the residents of Seoul, Busan and Daegu from September 22 to October 11, 2009. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, MDS was utilized to investigate differences in customer's perception of the position of five coffee shop brands. The results of positioning analysis showed that there was competitive relationship between Hollys and Angelinus. Also, the positioning of Tom N Toms was close to Hollys and Angelinus. However, Starbucks, the market leader, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the market follower, were their own identity in their brands. According to the result of the study, it will be helpful for the marketers who need to establish a marketing strategy. Future studies could include other various variables and more thorough investigation into them.
This study was conducted to confirm the mediating effect of the teacher's trust in the relationship between the classroom teacher's transformative leadership and the students' emotional stability from the organizational perspective. For this, the data from 290 middle school students in Seoul were collected and analyzed. As a result of the study, the transformative leadership of the homeroom teacher had a positive (+) effect on the trust of the leader. In addition, the teacher's trust in the leader had a positive (+) effect on the learner's emotional stability. In addition, it was confirmed that the teacher's transformational leadership had a positive (+) effect on the learner's emotional stability. Finally, in the relationship between the homeroom teacher's transformative leadership and the learner's emotional stability, teacher trust has a partial mediating effect. This study is meaningful in that it has objectively verified what kind of leadership the homeroom teacher should aim for in order to operate the classroom as the peripheral unit of the school organization, and what emotional and psychological effects such leadership can have on students who are members of the organization.
Purpose - This study examines the relationships between leader-member exchange (LMX), perceived fit, organization-based self-esteem (OBSE), corporate citizenship, work engagement, and employees' negative word-of-mouth (NWOM). In particular, it analyzes the effect of the interaction between LMX and corporate citizenship on OBSE, and the effect of the interaction between perceived fit and corporate citizenship on OBSE. Finally, this study analyzes moderated mediation by legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship, and work engagement in the LMX-NWOM relationship and the perceived fit-NWOM relationship, respectively. Design/methodology - The research data were collected through a questionnaire from 293 employees working at 117 restaurant companies in Korea. Findings - The results were as follows. First, both LMX and perceived fit were negatively related to employees' NWOM. Second, both LMX and perceived fit were positively related to OBSE. Third, OBSE was negatively related to employees' NWOM. Fourth, legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship were found to attenuate the positive (+) relationship between perceived fit and OBSE, respectively. Fifth, it was found that work engagement weakened the negative (-) relationship between OBSE and NWOM. Finally, OBSE was found to have a partial mediating effect moderated by corporate citizenship (legal/ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship) and work engagement in the relationship between perceived fit and NWOM. Originality/value - This study makes a theoretical contribution by expanding the mechanisms associated with LMX and NWOM by revealing the mediating effect of OBSE in their relationship. Additionally, this study makes a theoretical contribution in that it demonstrates the importance of enhancing legal and ethical citizenship and philanthropic citizenship by revealing the moderating effect of corporate citizenship in the relationship between perceived fit and OBSEE. Finally, it makes a theoretical contribution by suggesting that the interaction between work engagement and OBSE is important in reducing employees' NWOM by revealing the moderating effect of work engagement.
The study conducted Comparative Analysis on the difference of College Scholastic Ability Data divided by type of admission process through the mileage program. Analysis result in following sequence. Leadership and relationships : CSAT(CSAT) > TOSR(subject), CSAT(CSAT+TOSR) is lower than each types ; mainly TOSR(total), TOSR(subject), CSAT(CSAT). Global : CSAT(CSAT+TOSR) & CSAT(CSAT) is higher than mainly TOSR(total) & TOSR(subject). Career and job search : TOSR(total) & TOSR(subject) is higher than mainly CSAT(CSAT+TOSR). Sum of mileage score : CSAT(CSAT) is higher than TOSR(subject) & CSAT(CSAT). Given this as a result, If you look simply at the activities of joint participation of leadership and relationships, student of mainly TOSR(total) admission do well college life with existing research. But with analysis results of K-Leader mileage this research shows that students of mainly CSAT(CSAT) admission do well college life. * CSAT(College Scholastic Ability Test), TOSR(a transcript of school records)
The dental accidents and disputes among Korean dentists have been on the increase with time. The main purpose of this study is to figure out the actual status of the dental accidents and malpractice disputes based on a questionnaire survey. The findings showed that 64.8% of respondents had been experienced the dental accidents, and 52.9% of respondents had been locked into the disputes. Within 5 years from the start of dental practice, the nearly half of the dentists responded the experience of the dental accidents and disputes. The amount of compensation for dental accidents and disputes wereindentalimplant, prosthodontics, and oral surgery treatments in descending order. The highest incident type was wrong process/treatment/procedure problem in clinical process/procedure.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine risk factors for sexual behaviors in Korean female high school students. Methods: Data was collected by a written questionnaire from June 22 to July 18, 2002 from 522 girls, who were stratified samples from a target population of 63,375 11th grade students from 200 regular high schools and 70 vocational high schools in Seoul, Korea. We conducted multiple regression analysis using the SAS pc+ program. Results: Risk factors for intimate behaviors were association with boy friends, differential association, family attachment, and family abuse experience. These variables cause 68% of intimate behaviors. Risk factors for sexual experiences were differential association, association with boy friend, and family attachment. These variables cause 14% of sexual experiences. Conclusion: Efforts to reduce sexual behaviors in girls should include the possible role of peers and develop peer leader programs.
Allergic disorders such as atopic dermatitis and asthma are common hyper-immune disorders in industrialized countries. Along with genetic association, environmental factors and gut microbiota have been suggested as major triggering factors for the development of atopic dermatitis. Numerous studies support the association of hygiene hypothesis in allergic immune disorders that a lack of early childhood exposure to diverse microorganism increases susceptibility to allergic diseases. Among the symbiotic microorganisms (e.g. gut flora or probiotics), probiotics confer health benefits through multiple action mechanisms including modification of immune response in gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). Although many human clinical trials and mouse studies demonstrated the beneficial effects of probiotics in diverse immune disorders, this effect is strain specific and needs to apply specific probiotics for specific allergic diseases. Herein, we briefly review the diverse functions and regulation mechanisms of probiotics in diverse disorders.
