자궁경부재발암 환자의 국소동맥 주입식 동위원소 검사 -방사성 동위원소의 치료시도를 위한 평가- (Intraarterial Scintigraphy in Recurrent Cervix Cancer - The Evaluation of Radionuclide Therapeutic Trials -)

  • We performed 17 intraarterial scintigraphies in six patients with recurrent cervix cancer. With Seldinger method, the agent (four different radiopharmaceuticals) was perfused at the same speed of infusion of anticancer drugs (25 cc/hour) through internal iliac artery. There were four different radiopharmaceuticals; I-131-Lipiodol, Tc (Technetium)-99m-HSa (Human Serum Albumin), $^{99m}Tc-Sucralfate$ and $^{99m}Tc-MAA$ (Macroaggraegated Albumin). We evaluate the distribution pattern of radioactivity by the use of ratio of Tumor/Extratumor uptake (T/ET ratio). Our results reveals that $^{99m}Tc-MAA$ scan showed the highest T/ET ratio and the other were not ideal agents for intraarterial therapy of recurrent cervix cancer. In conclusion, an ideal radioisotope and tracer which can block capillary, for example MAA, should be re-evaluated or produced in order to treat the patient with recurrent cervix cancer.

  • 유한한 기판 크기가 H-평면 마이크로스트립 선형 위상 배열 안테나의 방사 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 서로 다른 유전상수를 가지는 기판을 이용하여 여러 가지 안테나 소자 간 간격과 기판 크기를 가지는 5 소자 H-평면 선형 배열 안테나의 빔 주사각도에 따른 방사 특성을 살펴보았다. H-평면 선형 배열 안테나의 방사 특성이 향상되는 단위 안테나의 중심에서 E-평면 기판 가장자리까지의 거리를 도출하였다.

남성복 재킷의 Mass Customization을 위한 패턴 제작 방법 연구 (A Study of the Patternmaking Methods for Mass Customization of the Men's Jacket)

  • Three-dimensional body scanners were used for years in the clothing manufacturing fields. The 3D body surface provide essential data to draft patterns for mass customization, virtual fit model, and computerized patternmaking systems. This research proposed the methods of drafting patterns for men's jacket by using three dimensional body scan data. Eight male subjects were scanned, the surface data was flattened. The differentials of the flattened body surface and the jacket draft were measured, and analyzed the regressions. To verify the fit of the patterns, the jacket was constructed by the regression formulae and tested by experts. The fit of the jacket were significantly improved rather than a ready-made suit especially the shoulder areas. This means that the methods that we proposed were good to improve the fit of the garments and could be used effectively to implement mass customization strategies in the apparel retail industry.

Real-time Speed Limit Traffic Sign Detection System for Robust Automotive Environments

  • This paper describes a hardware-oriented algorithm and its conceptual implementation in a real-time speed limit traffic sign detection system on an automotive-oriented field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It solves the training and color dependence problems found in other research, which saw reduced recognition accuracy under unlearned conditions when color has changed. The algorithm is applicable to various platforms, such as color or grayscale cameras, high-resolution (4K) or low-resolution (VGA) cameras, and high-end or low-end FPGAs. It is also robust under various conditions, such as daytime, night time, and on rainy nights, and is adaptable to various countries' speed limit traffic sign systems. The speed limit traffic sign candidates on each grayscale video frame are detected through two simple computational stages using global luminosity and local pixel direction. Pipeline implementation using results-sharing on overlap, application of a RAM-based shift register, and optimization of scan window sizes results in a small but high-performance implementation. The proposed system matches the processing speed requirement for a 60 fps system. The speed limit traffic sign recognition system achieves better than 98% accuracy in detection and recognition, even under difficult conditions such as rainy nights, and is implementable on the low-end, low-cost Xilinx Zynq automotive Z7020 FPGA.

Endodontic management of a maxillary first molar with three roots and seven root canals with the aid of cone-beam computed tomography

  • Variation in root canal morphology, especially in maxillary first molar presents a constant challenge for a clinician in their detection and management. This case report describes the successful root canal treatment of a three rooted right maxillary first molar presenting with three canals each in the mesiobuccal and distobuccal roots and one canal in the palatal root. The clinical detection of this morphologic aberration was made using a dental operating microscope, and the canal configuration was established after correlating and computing the clinical, radiographic and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan findings. CBCT images confirmed the configuration of the canals in the mesiobuccal and distobuccal roots to be Al-Qudah and Awawdeh type (3-2) and type (3-2-1), respectively, whereas the palatal root had a Vertucci type I canal pattern. This report reaffirms the importance of careful examination of the floor of the pulp chamber with a dental operating microscope and the use of multiangled preoperative radiographs along with advanced diagnostic aids such as CBCT in identification and successful management of aberrant canal morphologies.

점진적인 속도증진 트레드밀 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 보행패턴에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Gait Pattern in Hemiplegia Patients through Progressive Speed Increase Treadmill Training)

  • 연구목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 8주간의 점진적인 속도증진 훈련이 뇌졸중환자의 족저압, 보행주기, 보행대칭성에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보는 것이다. 연구방법 : 연구에 참여한 대상자들은 뇌졸중으로 진단 받고 N병원에 입원한 편마비환자 20명(실험군 10명, 대조군 10명)을 대상으로 하였다. 이들은 모두 물리치료와 작업치료를 받았고, 실험군은 주3회, 8주간의 트레드밀 보행훈련를 받았고, 대조군은 받지 않았다. 실험전, 후에 F-scan을 이용하여 보행주기, 보행대칭성을 검사하였다. 연구결과 : 8주 후, 보행주기는 실험군의 양하지지지기 I II, 단하지지지기에서 모두 유의하게 증가하였으나, 대조군에서는 양하지지지기 II, 단하지지지기에서 유의하게 증가하였다. 유각기는 실험군과 대조군 모두 유의하지는 않았다. 보행대칭성은 입각기 대칭성에서 대조군과 비교하여 실험군에서 유의하게 증가하였으나, 유각기 대칭성은 실험군과 대조군 모두 유의하지 않았다. 결론 : 뇌졸중 환자에 있어 보행훈련은 보행주기과 보행대칭성과 를 개선시키며, 특히 점진적인 속도 증진훈련은 양하지지지기, 단하지지지기, 입각기 보행대칭성에 효과적인 방법으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Computed tomographic anatomy of hepatic artery in normal beagle dogs

  • This study was performed to examine the visualization and anatomical variants of the hepatic artery with dual-phase computed tomography (CT) angiography and three-dimensional volume rendering imaging analysis in clinically normal dogs. Seven healthy beagle dogs were enrolled and underwent dual CT angiography. Arterial phase images could be obtained with multi-detector CT angiography using the fixed-scan method in these dogs. Contrast enhancement of the hepatic parenchyma was quite minimal because of the unique blood supply system of the liver. In most dogs, the main hepatic arterial branches were the right lateral branch, left branch, and right medial branch. Although hepatic arterial variation appears to be common in dogs, only one dog in this study had the caudate lobar branch as the first branch of the hepatic artery. Further study on a larger number of dogs with CT images will be needed to identify and classify the pattern of hepatic arterial variations.

  • Standard Digital Volume Correlation (DVC) approaches are based on pattern matching between two reconstructed volumes acquired at different stages. Such frameworks are limited by the number of scans (due to acquisition duration), and time-dependent phenomena can generally not be captured. Projection-based Digital Volume Correlation (P-DVC) measures displacement fields from series of 2D radiographs acquired at different angles and loadings, thus resulting in richer temporal sampling (compared to standard DVC). The sought displacement field is decomposed over a basis of separated variables, namely, temporal and spatial modes. This study utilizes an alternative route in which spatial modes are con-structed via scan-wise DVC, and thus only the temporal amplitudes are sought via P-DVC. This meth-od is applied to a glass fiber mat reinforced polymer specimen containing a machined notch, subjected to in-situ cyclic tension, and imaged via X-Ray Computed Tomography. Different temporal interpolations are exploited. It is shown that utilizing only one DVC displacement field (as spatial mode) was sufficient to properly capture the complex kinematics up to specimen failure.

Early CT Findings of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Asymptomatic Children: A Single-Center Experience

  • Objective: The current study reported a case series to illustrate the early computed tomography (CT) findings of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in pediatric patients. Materials and Methods: All pediatric patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and who underwent CT scan in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from January 20, 2020 to February 28, 2020 were included in the current study. Data on clinical and CT features were collected and analyzed. Results: Four children were included in the current study. All of them were asymptomatic throughout the disease course (ranging from 7 days to 15 days), and none of them showed abnormalities in blood cell counts. Familial cluster was the main transmission pattern. Thin-section CT revealed abnormalities in three patients, and one patient did not present with any abnormal CT findings. Unilateral lung involvement was observed in two patients, and one patient showed bilateral lung involvement. In total, five small lesions were identified, including ground-glass opacity (n = 4) and consolidation (n = 1). All lesions had ill-defined margins with peripheral distribution and predilection of lower lobe. Conclusion: Small patches of ground-glass opacity with subpleural distribution and unilateral lung involvement were common findings on CT scans of pediatric patients in the early stage of the disease.
