Purpose: The study aims to improve the quality of emergency medical services by surveying the user's satisfaction of 119 emergency medical services nationwide. Methods: From December 21 to December 27 each year from 2015 to 2017 a total of 5,889 people were surveyed by phone call in fire station. Results: The average degree of satisfaction with the emergency medical services was 4.17±0.70, with 85.1% respondents reporting being 'satisfied'. Factors like being a patient, injuries, residential area, and scene arrival time affected satisfaction. From 2015 to 2017, the satisfaction degree decreased every year, with factors affecting this results including "first aid guidance of phone call" and "rapidity of emergency medical services." The highest satisfaction factors were 'friendly acting of emergency medical services' and 'appropriate offer of emergency medical services', while the lowest satisfaction factors were 'first aid guidance of phone call' and 'adequacy of emergency medical team'. Conclusion: The quality of emergency medical services needs to be improved by managing the quality of phone call first aid guidance and the assignment of adequate emergency medical teams to increase user satisfaction.
This descriptive study investigates the need for, satisfaction with, and availability of local healthcare services for elderly individuals. The subjects included 210 individuals aged 65 years over, and data were analyzed using SPSS. The subjects reported the limited availability of local healthcare services but a high level of satisfaction with and a strong need for these services. The subjects used these services mainly for their vaccination and perceived cost-effectiveness as the most important factor motivating their decision to use these services and a lack of publicity as the most important factor discouraging their use. Spouses, jobs, and health conditions showed significant differences in the level of satisfaction and availability, and diseases showed significant differences only in the need. These results suggest that local healthcare centers should provide services that many elderly patients can use through outreach services, connections to local communities, and active publicity instead of expanding service types.
Objectives : This study was to determine how the perception and the satisfaction of outpatients who utilized clinics and hospitals are structurally related with their willingness to utilize the same institution in the future. Methods : Three hundred and ten responses (via convenient sampling) were collected from 5 hospitals and 20 clinics located in Seoul listed in the "Korea National Hospital Directory 2005". Service quality was utilized as the satisfaction measurement tool. For analysis, we used a structural equation modeling method. Results : The determining factors for general satisfaction with medical services are as follows: medical staff, reasonability of payment, comfort and accessibility. Such results may involve increased competition in the medical market and increased demands for quality medical services, which drive the patients to visit hospitals on their own on the basis of changed determining factors for satisfaction. Conclusions : The structural equation model showed that the satisfaction of outpatients with the quality of medical services is influenced by a few sub-dimensional satisfaction factors. Among these sub-dimensional satisfaction factors, the satisfaction with medical staff and payment were determined to exert a significant effect on overall satisfaction with the quality of medical services. The structural relationship in which overall satisfaction perceived by patients significantly influences their willingness to use the same institution in the future was also verified.
This research intends to explore two questions: 1) how the service qualities of trade exhibitions affect the participant's satisfaction, and 2) how participation motivation moderates the relationship's between the service quality and satisfaction. For this purpose, the service qualities were measured with respect to three components: 1) core services, 2) physical environments, and 3) personal services of trade exhibitions. The results showed that the core services had largest impact on the participant's satisfaction among three components. The influence of the personal services was next strong, and the impact of the physical environment was weakest. Participation motivation was shown to moderate the effects of core services and personal services on satisfaction, but its moderating impact on the relationship between physical environments and satisfaction was not observed.
Objective: This study conducted an empirical research on foreign patients who had visited the medical institutions of Daegu region in order to identify the effects of the factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services on their revisit intentions. Methods: This study reviewed the existing studies on medical services to foreign patients with a main focus on medical tourism, and conducted the empirical research through a survey on foreign patients from the Russian, Chinese and English-speaking regions based on the Daegu Medical Tourism Promotion Institute's DB of foreign patients. The empirical research conducted a multiple regression analysis on factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction regarding return visit intentions. Results: The multiple regression analysis results showed that both the factor satisfaction and the experience satisfaction with medical services of foreign patients had positive effects on their return visit intentions, especially, with a relatively greater effect from the factor satisfaction. Specifically, it was found that factor satisfaction elements of 'friendliness of employees', 'good communication', and 'expertise of medical workers'; and experience satisfaction elements of 'reliability of medical information', 'efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners', 'convenient access to medical information' and the like enhanced the return visit intentions. Conclusion: We discovered that, in the context of medical tourism activities, it is important to enhance factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services in order to promote return visits of the foreign patients who we once attracted. Especially, there are implications that reliability of medical information and efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners enhance return visits of foreign patients.
The main objective of this study is to investigate the factors affecting patient satisfaction, repeat-use intention, and inducement intention for providing the suggestion for patient-oriented management of dental services organizations. For this study, the patient satisfaction model including 14 facets of satisfaction factors such as distance(time/location), human services(dentist-hygienist), treatment results, and facilities(convenient facilities/parking lot) was examined. Data were collected from 196 patients who visiting the same dental services organization more than two times of ten dental clinics at Kyeongsangnam-do area using self-administered questionnaire. Major results of the empirical analysis are as follows: First, patient satisfaction, repeat-use intention, and inducement intention were significantly correlated with gender, age, economic conditions among patients of dental clinics. Second, kindness of hygienist, treatment results, kindness of receptionist, waiting time, emergency medical services, and right-fee for services were found to have significant influence on dental services organizations. These research findings suggest that improvement of service quality in dental care and advancement in treatment ability of dentist and hygienist are very important to improve patient satisfaction and patient-oriented service system in dental services organizations.
This study examines the consumer behavior towards service satisfaction and loyalty in the wedding service market when differentiated services were provided through a market segmentation that includes products, prices, and channels for service choices. This study uses the questionnaire research method to compare the wedding service consumer satisfaction between Korea and Japan. As for married couples, the convenience of transportation and name-recognition were the most important considerations among Koreans when it comes to choosing a place for wedding ceremonies. Meanwhile, Japanese counterparts considered reasonable prices and wedding services quality as the most important factors. In terms of the level of satisfaction in services provided by wedding halls, Korean married couples were found to be more satisfied than Japanese counterparts. Second, the impact of the level of satisfaction with wedding services on consumer loyalty was analyzed. It was found that name-recognition was an important influencing factor among both Koreans and Japanese. An increased satisfaction with name-recognition, resulted in higher loyalty by individuals to wedding halls. In terms of showing loyalty to wedding halls, Koreans were found to be more influenced by name-recognition than the Japanese. Third, there was no significant difference found in japan in terms of the impact of the level of satisfaction with wedding services loyalty.
Background : In these days, the health care organizations have concerned about customer-centered care in order to empower the competitiveness on the health care markets. The departments working for quality management of the hospitals have used health care quality indicators in terms of medical areas as well as service areas of the hospitals. However, there were insufficient efforts to develop the credible measurement to seek the customers' needs, their expectations and their satisfaction levels related to health care services because various kinds of challenges were in the process of scale development to measure customers' satisfaction in health care. The purpose of this study was to develop the satisfaction scale to health care services in a Korea health care organization and to test its tool with validity and reliability. Method : The concept of this tool was acceptability that one of the components of health care quality defined by Donabedian. Acceptability has the five dimensions of concept: Accessibility; Patient-Practitioner Relations; Amenities; Patient Preferences as to the effects of care; and Patient Preferences as to the costs of care. The Satisfaction Tool to Health Care Services was reviewed by expert panel with five researchers, including hospital managers and a professor related to quality management of the hospitals. As a result, the content validity index was .84 in the outpatient satisfaction tool. The inpatient satisfaction tool had .87 of the content validity index. The Satisfaction Tools to Health Care Services finally consisted of 44 items for outpatients/their families and of 60 items for inpatients/their families. Study subjects of the construct validity test were 479 outpatients/their families and 561 inpatients/their families who visited or admitted at a University hospital from July 1, 1996 through August 10, 1996. The data were examined by Factor Analysis with SPSS. Result : The items of Satisfaction tools for outpatients/their families were categorized by eleven factors with eigenvalue greater than 1.0 accounting for 64.2 percent of the variation in item scores. Also, the items of inpatient tool had eleven factors with eigenvalue greater than 1.0 accounting for 60.3 percent of the variation in item scores. The reliability of overall scale were .95 and .96 for the outpatients/their families satisfaction scores and inpatient/their families satisfaction scores. The internal consistency reliability with eleven factors was ranged from .30 to .94 for inpatients/their families. The Satisfaction Tool with eleven factors for inpatients/their families had internal consistency reliability ranged from .53 to .89. Conclusion : The Satisfaction Tools to Health Care Services focused on outpatients/their families and inpatients/their families developed in this study had a high reliability and the strong evidence of content validity and construct validity based on quality concept. Therefore, this tool would be utilized as a credible quality indicator of health care services to assess the quality problems and to monitor the quality improvement activities in Korean Health Care Organizations.
Purpose: Motivated by an expedited growth and distribution of Online Food-Delivery (OFD) services, especially during the recent Covid-19 pandemic, this research aims to explore 1) how consumers' sustainability considerations are associated with satisfaction with the services via opt-out cutlery options and 2) the role of the pandemic in the relationships between sustainability considerations, attitudes toward opt-out cutlery options, and satisfaction with the OFD services. Data and Methodology: An analysis of survey data using 434 consumers in the United States recruited from Amazon M-Turk was conducted using structural equation modeling. Results: Findings suggest that consumers' environmental, health, and ethical considerations are positively related to their attitudes toward opt-out cutlery options. Furthermore, attitudes toward opt-out cutlery options are positively related to satisfaction with the OFD services only when they feel connected with the environment, driven by perceived threats of an infectious disease (i.e. Covid-19). Conclusion: The study findings provide new insights to managers in the OFD service industry on how to promote sustainable consumption during the pandemic.
In order to obtain baseline data for quality improvement of the catering services, a survey was carried out to investigate the consumer use and satisfaction with catering services. Subjects were 171 women who had used catering services within a year previously, and were replied to a questionnaire. The results were as follows: With respect to the use of the catering service, most reasons for using the catering service were no time and no cooking skills, and most events using catering services were the first birthday party and 100th day party for baby. The preferred meal cost was 8,000-10,000 won per person. With respect to customer satisfaction, over 60% of the people were satisfied with catering service which they had used ; they were satisfied with service quality and quantity of the dishes provided whereas they showed a little bit dissatisfaction in desserts and seasonal foods. It is recommended that supplying of sufficient desserts, and development of new and various menus according to seasons should be required to improve the consumer satisfaction with catering services.
