Convergence Relationship between Clinical Practice Stress after Gerontological Nursing Practice, Clinical Practice Satisfaction and Nursing Image of Nursing College Students (간호대학생의 노인간호학 실습 후 임상실습 스트레스, 임상실습 만족도 및 간호이미지와의 융복합적 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clinical practice stress, practice satisfaction, and nursing image of nursing students with experience of Gerontological nursing practice and to identify factors affecting nursing image. Data were collected from 150 nursing students from September 1 to 23, 2016 and analyzed using SPSS / Win 23.0. Results showed, practise stress was 3.13, satisfaction, 3.14 and nursing image, 3.32. Correlation analysis revealed that there was negative correlation between practice stress and practicec satisfaction, practice stress and nursing image, and a positive correlation between nursing image and practice satisfaction. Meanwhile, the factor affecting nursing image was practice satisfaction (${\beta}=.602$) and the explanatory power was 40%. Therefore, effective nursing education and practical strategies are needed to improve the nursing image and practice satisfaction of Gerontological nursing practice of nursing students.

Impact of Academic Self-efficacy and Clinical Practice Satisfaction on Professional Identity among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 학업적 자기효능감 및 임상실습 만족도가 전문직 정체성에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: Establishing a professional identity is important for nurses in providing quality nursing care and adapting to changing roles in various clinical settings. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of nursing students' academic self-efficacy and clinical practice satisfaction on their professional identity. Methods: A total of 180 nursing students were recruited using convenience sampling from a university in G city in July, 2021. Results: The professional identity scores were higher than the average, and differed significantly according to nurses' academic grade, department satisfaction, interpersonal relations, and subjective health status. Professional identity showed a significant positive correlation with academic self-efficacy (r=.69, p<.001), major satisfaction (r=.72, p<.001), and clinical practice satisfaction (r=.71, p<.001). The factors affecting professional identity were clinical practice satisfaction (ß=.42, p<.001) and academic self-efficacy (ß=.38, p<.001). Conclusion: Our finding suggest that nursing students should be encouraged to develop their professional identity by improving clinical practice satisfaction and academic self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to provide nursing education programs that increase their pride as nurses and establish their professionalism in nursing.

The factors influencing the nursing practice readiness of new graduate nurses (신규간호사의 간호실무준비도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the nursing practice readiness of newly graduated nurses. Methods: The participants were 120 new nurses with 1 to 12 months of work experience at two tertiary hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The data were collected through an online questionnaire from February 6 to April 30, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25 program, and the independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: The participants' nursing practice readiness was found to be positively correlated with their confidence in core nursing skill performance, satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction concerning simulation education, satisfaction regarding preceptorship, length of preceptorship and length of current unit placement. The regression analysis showed that the significant variables affecting nursing practice readiness were confidence in core nursing skill performance and satisfaction with clinical practice, and the explanatory power of the variables on nursing practice readiness was 36.0%. Conclusion: In order for newly graduated nurses to achieve nursing practice readiness, it is necessary to develop a nursing education program that can improve their confidence in core nursing skills performance and satisfaction with clinical practice in the nursing college curriculum and further research on the factors affecting nursing practice readiness is needed.

Convergence Factors Influencing Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Nursing Students (간호학생의 임상실습만족도에 미치는 융복합적 영향요인)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the convergence factors contributing to clinical practice satisfaction in Korean nursing students. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from April 1 to May 15, 2015. The participants were 83 nursing students, and a mid-sized private university school of nursing in the Korea was selected. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 22.0 program. Satisfaction in major significantly differed by age. Clinical practice satisfaction was positively correlated with satisfaction in major and clinical competence. The factors that significantly influenced clinical practice satisfaction were clinical competence and satisfaction in major, which together explained 26% of the total variance. To improve satisfaction in major and clinical competence among Korean nursing students, it will be necessary to provide nursing students with clinical adaptation programs and preceptor education.

Affect of Emotional intelligence Caring efficacy and Resilience on Satisfaction on Clinical Practice in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 감성지능, 돌봄효능감, 회복탄력성이 임상실습만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the satisfaction with clinical practice, the emotional intelligence, the caring efficacy and the resilience of nursing students, and also to identify the factors affecting their satisfaction with clinical practice. The subjects of this study were 253 third and fourth year nursing students who had experience with clinical practice at 5 colleges in D and K cities and G do. The data was collected by using self-reported questionnaires from October 1 to November 23, 2018. The data was then analyzed using an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the PASW/WIN 20.0 program. Satisfaction with clinical practice was significantly different according to satisfaction with nursing as a major. Satisfaction with clinical practice had significant correlations with emotional intelligence, caring efficacy and resilience. The factors affecting the satisfaction with clinical practice were caring efficacy, resilience and emotional intelligence, and the explanatory power of these models was 43.4%. Therefore, these results imply the need to develop education programs to improve caring efficacy, resilience and emotional intelligence, because all of these factors will contribute to the nursing students' satisfaction of clinical practice.

Impacts of alternative clinical practice on nursing professionalism in nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic (코로나19 팬데믹 동안 간호대학생의 대체실습경험이 간호전문직관에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the impacts of alternative clinical practice on nursing professionalism in nursing students during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional study was used for this study. Data were collected from 178 junior and senior nursing students from December 28, 2022 to January 6, 2023. The nursing students' characteristics, nursing professionalism, clinical competence, extent of alternative clinical practice, and satisfaction with alternative clinical practice were self-reported through an on-line survey. Multiple linear regressions were conducted to examine the impacts of alternative clinical practice on nursing professionalism along with the confounding variables. Results: The nursing students reported that they performed alternative clinical practice for more than half of their clinical practice throughout 2022. The extent of alternative clinical practice (β=-.11, p=.028), satisfaction with content (β=.14, p=.045), and evaluation of the alternative clinical practice (β=.17, p=.007) were found to have impacted nursing professionalism. These variables explained 55.6% of the variance in nursing professionalism. Conclusion: The study results suggest that the alternative nursing practice could impact nursing students' professionalism. However, it would be possible to develop nursing professionalism if the students' satisfaction with the alternative clinical practice were increased. Nurse educators need to improve the content and evaluation methods of alternative clinical practice to promote nursing professionalism during the implementation of such alternative clinical practice.

On Convergence Impact Influencing of Satisfaction Clinical Practice of Dental Hygienist students (치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미치는 융합 요인)

  • This study was to identify factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygienist students located in G, J region. The data was analyzed by t-test, Anova, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS 21.0 program. There were significant in satisfaction of score(F=2.925, p<.05), perceive heath status(F=8.108, p<.001), satisfaction on department(F=8.198, p<.001). The relationship on peers with score(r=.277, p=.01) and perceive health status correlations with relationships on peers(r=.327, p=.01), The satisfaction on clinical practice had positive correlations with score(r=.127, p=.05), perceive health status(r=.226, p=.01), relationship on peers(r=.240, p=.01). The factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice were satisfaction of relationship on peers, satisfaction of department, perceive health status. The results suggest that development of program to improve satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygiene students.

The Effect of Ego-resilience, Stress Coping Styles, Teaching, Effectiveness, and Family Support on Satisfaction of Clinical Practice in Nursing Students by AMOS Structural Equation Model (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 스트레스 대처방식, 교수효율성, 가족지지가 임상실습만족도에 미치는 효과: 구조방정식 모형구축)

  • Purpose: This study aimedto develop a structural equation model on the relationship among ego-resilience, and teaching effectiveness on clinical education, stress coping style, perceived family support, and satisfaction of clinical practice in nursing students in order to increase the satisfaction of clinical practice. Methods: The subjects were 399 undergraduate nursing students enrolled in 7 universities and participating in 10 clinical practice setting areas in 5 cities in South Korea. The research was conducted from December 5th, 2009 to February 20th, 2010. The structural equation model was used to perform the analysis with the statistics program of SPSS win 17.0 and AMOS 5.0. Results: Teaching effectiveness and family support showed a direct effect on satisfaction of clinical practice, while ego-resilience and stress coping styles showed an indirect effect. The biggest total effect on satisfaction of clinical practice was teaching effectiveness followed by family support, ego-resilience, and stress coping styles respectively, which accounted for 50.9%. Conclusion: Based on outcomes of this study, the proposed model allows better understanding of the satisfaction of clinical practice. This result implies that strategies or intervention programs enhancing extrinsic protection factors, motivation factors, and intrinsic protection factors should be considered. In addition, a structural support system for increasing the satisfaction level of clinical practice in nursing students should also be considered.

The relationship between clinical practice stress, satisfaction of clinical practice, clinical performance ability and the nursing profession in nursing college students (간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스, 임상실습만족도, 임상수행능력과 간호전문직관의 연관성)

  • This descriptive study was conducted to investigate the relationship between clinical practice stress, satisfaction with clinical practice, and clinical performance ability of nursing college students and the nursing profession. Data were collected from 240 students in the nursing college. Clinical performance ability (F=1.888, p=0.048) and the nursing profession (F=1.976, p=0.046) showed statistically significant differences depending on the satisfaction of majors. The nursing professional institution contained more population groups that were dissatisfied than satisfied with the majors. Additionally, clinical practice stress was reported to affect satisfaction by 41% of the respondents. Overall, stressful clinical practice, clinical practice satisfaction and clinical performance were found to significantly affect the degree of satisfaction by nursing students. Accordingly, the level of stress experienced during clinical training also affects the performance of clinical practice, and can therefore lead to mistakes. Thus, there is a need to develop future interventions that could reduce the stress experienced by clinical practice nursing students.

Relationship Between Nursing Students Simulation Practice Education, Clinical Practice Satisfaction, Problem-solving Ability and Clinical Performance Ability (간호대학생의 시뮬레이션 실습교육 경험, 임상실습만족도, 문제해결능력 및 임상수행능력과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the between nursing students simulation pratice education experience, clinical practice satisfaction, problem-solving ability, and clinical performance ability. The research design was a descriptive correlational study, and the participants were third-year nursing students. A total of 197 people were involved, including 95 students from a university with simulation training in the curriculum and 102 students from a university without simulation training in the curriculum. It was composed. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and pearson correlation were used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the study, nursing students who had experience in simulation practice education showed significant differences in clinical practice satisfaction and clinical performance ability during clinical practice. However, there was no significant difference in problem-solving ability. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a correlation between simulation training experience, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical performance ability. Based on the results of this study, it will be possible to develop and utilize simulation education programs in various situations to increase the effectiveness of clinical practice for nursing students.
