  • The main findings from the analysis of the micro-determinants of joining union are : Firstly, joining union is mainly determined by union reach (supply-side) rather than by union propensity (demand-side). Secondly, union existence is closely correlated with firm size. Thirdly, job satifaction is not statistically significant with joining union, though it is significant with non-union workers' propensity to join union. Finally, trade union movement is required to extend union reach and emphasize institutional and behavioral factors for increasing union density.

  • External social support for family can be an important resource for families to overcome economic pressure, and can be a way to understand the concept and process of family resilience in the context of Korean economic crisis. To explore the role of external social support that alleviates the negative effects of economic pressure on marital satisfaction, the buffering effects were tested in two ways. First, the interaction effect between external social support and economic pressure on marital satisfaction was tested using hierarchical linear regression model. Second, the scores of marital satisfaction were plotted by the median scores of economic pressure and external social support. Results from the analyses of 191 couples (382 husbands and wives) indicated that external social support help families by buffering the negative effects of economic pressure on marital satisfaction by interacting with economic pressure.

  • Theoretically and practically, it is very important to understand the way which tourist satisfaction is operated. The purpose of this study is to identify interaction among the determinants of tourist satisfacton process. A model of tourist satisfactioin process is developed based based on the confirmation / disconfirmation which is originated from consumer behavior literature. Three elements of the model include 'expectation','performance', and 'discrepancy between expectation and performance'. 340 questionnaires were delivered to find Everland visitors' perceptions of the determinants of tourist satisfaction. LISREL 8.14 was used to analyze the interaction among the determinants. The results are as follows : 1) 'expectation' has indirect effect on tourist satisfaction while 'performance' and 'discrepancy' has direct effect on the tourist satisfaction, 2) two precedent variables such as 'expectation' and 'performance' have indirect effect on the satisfaction through 'discrepancy',3) among the three determinants it is found that 'performance' is the most effective determinant of tourist satifaction, and 4) the model which was composed from the aspect of 'travel cost' was more effective to describing tourist satisfacton rather that from the aspect of 'service quality'.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy comparison method called the fuzzy satisfaction function. It compares two fuzzy numbers and produces a fuzzy set on [O, 11 as the comparison result. It represents the possibility that a fuzzy number is greater(smal1er) than the other with a fuzzy set on [0, I]. It is extended from the satisfaction function which compares two fuzzy numbers and generates a value in [0, 11 as the result. This paper summarizes the satisfaction function and proposes the fuzzy satisfaction function. Some numerical examples are also presented in this paper.

Among them, the hospital charcteristics, preception, personal and person factors. Among them, the hospital charcteristics appered to have the biggest effect of hospital choice motivation. Second, as a result of making comparison between oriental oriental hospital user satisfaction and werterm hospital user satisfaction, there was a singificant between their satisfaction at treatment time, kindness and relative kiness aginst the pther hospital. The oriental level combining 6 items. The geneal satisfaction level combining 6itmes tured out to have reliability of chronbach $\alpha$=0.7126. As a result of examining how mech the general satifaction level depended on sociodemographic characteristics, ther was found be significantly affected by age, marital status, educational background or hospital type. Those who a spouse or a lower educational background or the oriental hospital users got better score. Third, the multiple regression analysis was made to find out what factors affected western and oriental hospital user satisfaction, As a result, the waiting time, experience of other medical facilities and hospital characteristic variable were identified as a key factor on which westerm hospital user satisfaction depended. In conclusion, the oriental hhspital user expressed more staisfaction than the weshren hospital users. Then the characteristic factor played a singificant role in user satisfaction, which included hospital facilities, kindness of herb doctor and employees, or hospital reputation of credibility. in order to raise hospital user datisfaction, it seemed necessary to pay more attention to hospital characteristic factor rather than to perception factor.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the characteristics of the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale(KMSS). KMSS was designed as a short and direct assessment of marital satisfaction. The scale consists of three items where respondents are directly asked how satisfied they are with their marriage, with their partner as a spouse, and with their relationship with their spouse. 1) Through item analysis, three items were significant discrimination for husbands and wives. 2) The KMSS consisted of 1 factor for husbands and wives. 3) Cronbach alpha estimates of internal consistency reliability of 93 for husband and of 89 for wives. 4) For wives, the item means between satifaction with their marriage and satisfaction with their relationsphip with their husbands were significantly different, even though the items were highly correlated. For husbands, three item means weren't significantly different. 5) The distribution of responses to the scale for husbands and wives departed si nificantly from normality in terms of skewness and kurtosis. 6) The scale was correlated, in expected directions, with the Marital Comparison Level Index (MCLI) and Marital Instability Index(MII), for husbands and wives. In conclusion, the scale offers promise for use in clinical evaluation and survey research where a brief but reliable measure of marital satisfaction is required.
