  • Damage assessment and Damage index for RC members failed in flexure was investigated by using the nonlinear finite element analysis, included with nonlocal constitutive law, which is analyzed for the localization of the failure on the post-peak region. In the nonlcal constitutive law, The local strains obtained at gauss points were averaged over a particular length, i.e. characteristic length and it was used to evaluate the damage of RC column member. As the analysis results, The value of nonlocal strain shows less mesh sensibility. In the damage assessment, It was confirmed that evaluations of damage of RC member were able to use nonlocal compressive strain on a cover concrete and a core concrete of the member. Moreover it was confirmed that damage process for the statically indeterminate structure was able to evaluate the damage context of the component members of the structure.

  • This study concerns the constraints of English Poetic Fixed Meter. In English poems, the metrical pattern doesn't always match the linguistic stress on the lines. These mismatches are found differently among the poets. For the lexical stress mismatched with the weak metrical position, ${\ast}W{\Rightarrow}$ Strength is established by the concept of the strong syllable. The peaked monosyllabic word mismatched with weak metrical position is divided according to which side of the boundary of a phonological domain it is adjacent to. In most poets, ${\ast}$Peak] is ranked higher than ${\ast}$[Peak. In Shakespeare, Adjacency Constraint is ranked higher than ${\ast}$Peak].

  • Amynthas hupeiensis with 6/7/8/9 intersegmental spermathecal pores keys to the sieboldi-group in Sims and Easton (1972). Two pairs of round genital papillae are always between segments 17/18 and 18/19, and male pore regions are positioned in between the genital papillae. Korean Amynthas hupeiensis is usually collected from various agroecosystems. Description of the Amynthas hupeiensis is provided, including illustrations of ventral view and spermathecae, DNA barcoding data, and photo.

  • An unrecorded fungus was isolated from the leaf mold of Diospyros kaki in Sangju, Korea. Morphological and phylogenetic analyses were performed for the isolated fungus, which was ultimately identified as Phialophora sessilis. This is the first report of P. sessilis in Korea.

GC/MS-SIM for the Determination of Alkylphenols, Chlorophenols and Bisphenol A in Paper Materials

  • A method for the determination of alkylphenols, chlorophenols and bisphenol A in paper materials using GC/MS-SIM has been developed. Eleven endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) of phenols in paper samples were extracted with acetonitrile. Also, solid-phase extraction (SPE) with XAD-4 and subsequent conversion to isobutoxycarbonyl derivatives or tert.-butyldimethylsilyl derivatives for sensitive analysis with the selected ion-monitoring (SIM) mode. The recoveries were 82.4∼108.8 % by area ratio of pheranthrene-d$\sub$10/ vs bisphenol A d$\sub$l6/. (isoBOC derivatization and TBDMS derivatization) The SIM responses were linear with the correlation coefficient varying 0.9717∼0.9995 (isoBOC derivatization), and 0.9842∼0.9980 (TBDMS derivatization). The range of concentrations was respectively, 0.95∼l.44 ng/g in 2,4-dichlorophenol, 1.01∼1.17 ng/g in t-butylphenol, 2.17∼5.84 ng/g in pentachlorophenol, 12.68∼14.88 ng/g in nonylphenol and 30.84∼153.72 ng/g in bisphenol A.

  • Electrowetting 현상을 contact angle의 변화가 아닌 전자기 체적력의 관점으로 고찰한다. 정수역학의 방정식과 Kelvin 식, 표면장력 공식을 도입하고, 체표면의 모든 곳에서의 압력이 일정하다는 원리를 이용하여 유체 표면의 형상을 고찰한다. 액적의 초기 형상은 반원, 반지름은 1mm이다. 절연 처리한 판형태의 도체위에 액적을 올려놓고 그 액적에 핀을 꽃은 형태로 전계를 인가한다.

  • Stereolithography is the best known as rapid prototyping system. It uses the STL format data which is generated from CAD system. In this study, One of the main function of this developed CAM system deals with shape modification which divide a shape into two parts or more. The cross section of a STL part by a z-level is composed with nested or single polygonal closed loop. In order to make RP product, closed loops must fill with triangular facets from SSET and recover sliced triangular facets which is located normal direction to the cross sectional plane. The system is development by using Visuall C++ compiler in the environment of pentium PC. Operating system is Windows NT workstaion from Micro-Soft.

  • The main purpose of this study is to figure out of seismic structural behaviour of Gukrakjeon of Bongjung-Temple which is the oldest wooden architecture in Korea, and to evaluate in engineering aspect of seismic records. The non-lineal analysis is essential for accurate evaluation of wooden architecture in seismic behaviour. Based on the experimental test with applying cycle forces in joint specimens is focusing on not only to prove the structural characteristics, but also to evaluate damping ratio, As the result of this test, damping ratio is affected not the joint methods but the frame variations. The average damping ratio was 26%.
