If industrial disasters happen at workplace, work's desires of workers and business activities may be dispirited. Especially, industrial disasters frequently happen in the field of heavy and chemical industry companies. According to report of the korea occupational safety and health agency(KOSHA), damage due to industrial disasters is more 5 times than losses due to industrial strifes. Thus, in these manufacturing companies, a safety management field for preventing industrial disasters is emerging as an important factor of business activities. This paper proposes an industrial disaster prediction model for safety management and also implements industrial safety management system(after this, is called as u-Safety system) based on the proposed model using ubiquitous computing technologies like USN(ubiquitous sensor networks) which are given much attention among recent information technologies. The implemented system is successfully operating in the shipbuilding division of 'H' companies.

The efforts to reduce industrial accident has been brisk recently in workplace. These efforts were mainly concentrated on construction and manufacturing. Despite these efforts, current accident rate so far has been maintained on the fixed level. According to the change of industrial structure, the government's attention on industrial accident prevention activities are focused in service industries. When trying to appraise the result of such activities, it is impossible to evaluate safety without certain criteria. Therefore, we analyze data by TOPSIS method that all the subway institution jointly manage every year. we decide the order of safety priority between domestic subway workplaces and measure the variation in safety by sensitivity. As a result, we draw conclusions to improve safety for the primary consideration and suggest alternatives.

Korea Aerospace Research Institute has developed an earth observation satellite and it was launched into its orbit in 2012 by using a foreign commercial launch vehicle. The launch site authority has imposed safety requirements to the spacecraft developer to ensure the safety of the personnel and to protect launch vehicle, spacecraft and facilities from accidents associated with the satellite operation at the launch site. This paper describes the range safety activities implemented for the satellite and supporting equipments during the whole phase of their design, manufacturing/test and operation at the launch site. To ensure the integrated requirements for safety management and design, system safety program plan has been developed. And based upon the plan, spacecraft developer conducted hazard analysis to identify and establish safety requirements to reflect in designs, procedures, operations. The result of the hazard analysis has been complied into safety data packages and it was reviewed by launch site review board at the safety reviews and finally it was approved to launch.

Recently, there has been constituted the government regulations and the normative methods to control the safety management activities in construction fields, but almost of these regulations are ineffective, because of some characteristics safety management have. The needs of the times make government regulations and the normative methods change to autonomic management methods. In this context, it is significant certainly to improve the standard of safety management that is used as a tool to protect the workers from the accidents or industrial disasters in the construction field. In this research, it will be showed that the outside regulations and safety management systems of the head office have their limits to reflect the safety managements of field participants. Then, it will be presented the improved model of self-control safety management activities which is essential for success safety management.

This study is to investigate the degree of field awareness of how each provision of the Serious Disaster Punishment Act will affect accident prevention. As a result of conducting a survey of construction site workers, it was analyzed that construction site workers had a low sense of safety and did not voluntarily engage in safety activities. And it can be seen that they are taking a very passive position that it is efficient to implement safety under the supervision of the supervisor. Workers who need voluntary construction site safety activities are most aware of the situation at the site, but the problem was pointed out as "lack of procedures for listening to opinions and preparing improvement measures" for these problems. Future research is needed to see if this is a problem for individual workers or for those in charge of safety and health who do not correct it even though active opinions have been submitted.

Purpose: TThis study seeks to understand the provisions of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Construction Technology Promotion Act and to propose measures to prevent serious industrial accidents by seeking to promote safety and health of workers through improvement of safety management at construction sites. Method: A survey was conducted on construction sites with more than 50 permanent workers (5 billion won in construction amount). The analysis of the data was conducted using the JAMOVI statistics program and based on objective data. Result: Multiple regression analysis was conducted to verify the hypothesis of this study, and the results of the analysis. The participation of workers in safety and health activities has the highest impact on the promotion of safety and health of workers. Conclusion: In order to promote safety and health of workers at construction sites, compliance with safety and health rules of workers is required and improvements should be made to allow workers to participate in safety and health activities.

This case report aims to introduce the safety campaign activities for preventing chemical accidents that were cooperatively conducted by an environmental office and chemical-handling workplaces located in the Ulsan area. A chemical safety campaign was initiated to examine and manage chemical-handling facilities at high risk for chemical accidents, specifically valves, flanges, and switches (VFS) from October 2020 to December 2022. The VFS safety check campaign was conducted to raise workers' safety consciousness based on a campaign of advertisements in the workplace from October 2020 to December 2021. In addition, a VFS plus [+] campaign was initiated to encourage actual management activities for chemical-handling facilities at high risk of chemical accidents in 2022. A total of 49 corporations participated in the VFS plus [+] campaign. In contrast to the VFS safety check campaign, which simply focused on publicity and resulted in changes in worker awareness, practicable safety management activities focusing on the handling facilities were carried out. Although notable short-term impacts have yet to be discerned from the campaigns, it is expected that they will eventually serve as a starting point for developing a proper safety culture and environment.

This study shows the difference between groups with multivariate analysis of fire prevention activities, special investigations of fire safety, and fire safety management according to the management method of apartment houses and the inspection of firefighting facilities. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in fire prevention activities according to the quality of inspection of firefighting facilities. This means that fire prevention is high if the fire safety manager's ability to inspect firefighting facilities is excellent and the fire safety inspection is conducted in accordance with national fire safety standards and checklists. Second, there was a significant difference in the fire safety special investigation according to the management method of the apartment buildings. The manual operated by the management entity and the management entity's management and execution help the organization members to expedite work. This expedition of work creates a high possiblity to get a good evaluation from the special investigation of fire safety. Third, analysis of fire prevention activities showed a significant interaction between the inspection of firefighting facilities and the management method of apartment buildings. The analysis shows that that there is a positive correlation between the level of fire prevention and both the fire safety manager's ability to inspect firefighting facilities and the degree to which the inspection is conducted to meet national fire safety standards.

The purpose of this study was to confirm the complex relationship between patient safety-medical quality and hospital management activities to observe the mediating effect of organizational culture in the relationship due to healthcare accreditation adoption. For this, we conducted a 4 weeks survey, from September 22, 2014 to October 17, 2014 to the employees of 6 hospitals that could accommodate less than 300 patients or more than 300 patients located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The study includes 377 participants who have worked for more than one year in the hospital. All of hospital with less than 300-beds or more than 300-beds, such as patient safety-medical quality, organizational culture, hospital management activities found a positive correlation among variables. The mediating effect of organizational culture in the relationship between patient safety-medical quality and hospital management activities was shown by the partial mediating effect and high causal effect. Therefore, these study suggest that patient safety-medical quality due to healthcare accreditation adoption has the potential to improve hospital management activities.

This paper presents the methods to acquire the Safety Certificate from Independent Safety Assessment based on the IEC standard62279 which is commonly applied to railway system for Automatic Train Control(ATC) system in accordance with Urban Maglev project. This also shows approach methods and relative activities for project life-cycle to accomplish and ensure the system requirements of ATC system, RAMS and S/W quality activities. Furthermore, the key tasks conducted with ISA are noted in detail. These kind of activities for software quality of ATC system to obtain Safety Certificate could be a CASE model to improve the quality of domestic railway system and products, and also contribute to the growth of railway business and toward the achievement of overseas' railway signaling markets.
