정밀접근활주로 등급 상향에 따른 편익산정에 관한 연구 (A Study for Estimation of Benefit from Upgrading Precision Approach Runway Category)

  • The effects of weather on aircraft operations are predominant. In particular, severe weather, such as fog, strong winds, rainfall and snow, can cause delays, diversion or cancellation of operations. Of these, fog is considered the main reason for restricting aircraft operations. Meanwhile, Precision instrument approach using instrument landing system(ILS) has allowed aircraft to land safely even in situations where visibility is limited. However, the precision instrument approach require not only the performance of the aircraft but also the enhancement of the runway. In November 2018, Gimpo international Airport raised the category of the runway 14R from CAT-IIIa to CAT-IIIb to improve aviation safety and operational efficiency. Based on this, the research presented a methodology for estimating benefits according to the category upgrade of the precision approach runway, and estimated the benefits to Gimpo International Airport based on the methodology presented.

딥러닝 기반 활주로 청소 로봇 개발 (Development of Runway Cleaning Robot Based on Deep Learning)

  • This paper deals with the development of a deep-learning-based runway cleaning robot using an optical camera. A suitable model to realize real-time object detection was investigated, and the differences between the selected YOLOv3 and other deep learning models were analyzed. In order to check whether the proposed system is applicable to the actual runway, an experiment was conducted by making a prototype of the robot and a runway model. As a result, it was confirmed that the robot was well developed because the detection rate of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and cracks was high, and the collection of foreign substances was carried out smoothly.

  • Airport operations are well-known as a bottleneck in the air traffic system, putting growing pressure on the world's busiest airports to schedule arrivals and departures as efficiently as possible. Effective planning and control are essential for increasing airport efficiency and reducing aircraft delays. Many algorithms for controlling the arrival/departure queuing area are handled, considering it as first in first out queues, where any available aircraft can take off regardless of its relative sequence with other aircraft. In the suggested system, this problem was compared to the problem of scheduling n tasks (plane takeoffs and landings) on a multiple machine (runways). The proposed technique decreases delays (via efficient runway allocation or allowing aircraft to be expedited to reach a scheduled time) to enhance runway capacity and decrease delays. The aircraft scheduling problem entails arranging aircraft on available runways and scheduling their landings and departures while considering any operational constraints. The topic of this work is the scheduling of aircraft landings and takeoffs on multiple runways. Each aircraft's takeoff and landing schedules have time windows, as well as minimum separation intervals between landings and takeoffs. We present and evaluate a variety of comprehensive concepts and solutions for scheduling aircraft arrival and departure times, intending to reduce delays relative to scheduled times. When compared to First Come First Serve scheduling algorithm, the suggested strategy is usually successful in reducing the average waiting time and average tardiness while optimizing runway use.

수도권 지역 경량항공 이착륙장 분석 (The analysis of the LSA Airpark of Metropolitan Area)

  • In this study, we surveyed the operating status of the LSA Airpark in Metropolitan Area of Korea, and compared the Airfield Facilities Manual for the Air Leisure. We analyzed the problems of the closure and the currently used of the LSA Airpark, through site visits. We presented the re-usability for the closure LSA Airpark, the improvements for the currently used of the LSA Airpark.

  • This study was performed to improve the evaluation of the longitudinal roughness index for various profilometers at airport runway. Especially, a laser type of profilemeter subjected to the longitudinal roughness index has been focused. The test result show that a new type of profile index, IRI(International roughness index) resulted from a laser type of profilometer was profitable for airport runway etc.. The present study provides useful results for the improvement of evaluation of the conventional profile index.

Based on the information, we presented the airpark standards to ensure the safe take-off, landing, and operation of LSA in Korea.

Video Content Manipulation Using 3D Analysis for MPEG-4

  • This paper is concerned with realistic mainpulation of content in video sequences. Manipulation of content in video sequences is one of the content-based functionalities for MPEG-4 Visual standard. We present an approach to synthesizing video sequences by using the intermediate outputs of three-dimensional (3D) motion and depth analysis. For concreteness, we focus on video showing 3D motion of an observer relative to a scene containing planar runways (or roads). We first present a simple runway (or road) model. Then, we describe a method of identifying the runway (or road) boundary in the image using the Point of Heading Direction (PHD) which is defined as the image of, the ray along which a camera moves. The 3D motion of the camera is obtained from one of the existing 3D analysis methods. Then, a video sequence containing a runway is manipulated by (i) coloring the scene part above a vanishing line, say blue, to show sky, (ii) filling in the occluded scene parts, and (iii) overlaying the identified runway edges and placing yellow disks in them, simulating lights. Experimental results for a real video sequence are presented.

  • In this study, we surveyed the operating status of the Light Sport Aircraft(LSA) in Korea, and reviewed the minimum requirements of the airpark for LSA. We are discuss about increased aerodrome traffic density and safety improvement, through the installation of the exit taxiway. The shape of the exit taxiway of an airpark used in LSA is a rectangle for usable two way direction of runway. The array types of exit taxiway influence paved and unpaved runway occupancy time of LSA.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the personal, familial, school and peer characteristics related to adolescents' runaway drive. The 259 subjects were selected from high school student in the city of Daegu. The major findings of study were as follows: 1. In respect of personal characteristics, the more runaway drive was, the lower self-esteem was and the higher anxiety, depression, and impulsive mind was. 2. In respect of familial characteristics, the more runway drive was, the lower family cohesion and family adaptation was and the higher the degree of parents' rejection was. And the higher runway drive was, the higher degree of child abuse and interparental conflict. 3. In respect of school characteristics, the more runway drive was, the lower school adaptation was. 4. In respect of peer characteristics, the more runway drive was, the higher degree of delinquency of peer.

활주로 주변에 설치된 fence로 인한 Ground Turbulence의 감소 대한 연구 (A study on the reduction in Ground Turbulence by the fence in the vicinity of airport runway)

  • This paper presents the work being carried out in order to reduce the ground turbulence by the fence in the vicinity of airport runway. In preliminary study, we knows that cross-wind effect in the vicinity of runway is highly dependent on the shape of the buildings and have predicted results confirmed reduction of wind-effect by doing that set up the building with a fence, terraced shape or gap. This study is to figure out effect of ground turbulence by the building with fence, which is changing fence height, in using two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics analysis.
