제주 북동부지역을 대상으로 한 WindPRO의 예측성능 평가 (Evaluation of the Performance on WindPRO Prediction in the Northeast Region of Jeju Island)

  • In order to clarify predictive accuracy for the wind resource predicted by running WindPRO(Ver. 2.5) which is software for wind farm design developed by EMD from Denmark, an investigation was carried out at the northeast region of Jeju island. The Hangwon, Susan and Hoichun sites of Jeju island were selected for this study. The measurement period of wind at the sites was for one year. As a result, when the sites had different energy roses, though the two Wind Statistics made by STATGEN module were used for the prediction, it was difficult to exactly predict the energy rose at a given site. On the other hand, when the two Wind Statistics were used to predict the average wind speed, the wind power density and the annual energy production, the relative error was under ${\pm}20%$ which improved more than that when using only one Wind Statistics.

DEVELOPMENT OF REACTOR POWER CONTROL LOGIC FOR THE POWER MANEUVERING OF KALIMER-600

  • We developed an achievable control logic for the reactor power level during a power maneuvering event and set up some constraints for the control of the reactor power in a conceptual sodium-cooled fast reactor (KALIMER-600) that was developed at KAERI. For simulating the dynamic behaviors of the plant, we developed a fast-running performance analysis code. Through various simulations of the power maneuvering event, we evaluated some suggested control logic for the reactor power and found an achievable control logic. The objective of the control logic is to search for the position of the control rods that would keep the average temperature of the primary pool constant and, concurrently, minimize the power deviation between the reactor and the BOP cycle during the power maneuvering. In addition, the flow rates of the primary pool and the intermediate loop should be changed according to the power level in order to not violate the constraints set up in this study. Also, we evaluated some movement speeds of the control rods and found that a fast movement of the control rods might cause the power to fluctuate during the power maneuvering event. We suggested a reasonable movement speed of the control rods for the developed control logic.

Hausdorff 거리를 이용한 이동물체 추적 (Tracking Moving Object using Hausdorff Distance)

  • 본 논문에서는 배경이 움직이는 자연환경에서 모델기반 이동물체 추적 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 이동물체의 형태변화에 적응하기 위하여 Hausdorff 거리를 모델과 영상사이의 유사도로 사용하였으며, 이동물체의 위치 탐색시간을 줄이기 위하여 2D-Logarithmic 탐색기법을 사용하였다 이동물체 추적실험은 도로에서 주행하는 차량을 대상으로 수행하였다. 그 결과 자동차 영상과 오토바이 영상에서 실제위치와 추적결과에 대한 평균자승오차는 각각 1.15와 1.845로 이동물체의 정확한 추적이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 추적 정합 시도 회수는 제안한 알고리즘이 기존알고리즘 보다 자동차 영상에서는 평균 1125회, 오토바이 영상에서는 평균 523회 적게 시도하여 추적시간을 단축할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

UNIX 시스템의 최적 이용율 결정 (Determination of The Optimal Utilization of The UNIX Systems)

  • 본 논문은 UNIX 시스템의 최적 이용율(Optimal Utilization)을 결정하는 방법을 제시한다. 제시된 방법은 사용자가 인내할 수 있는 응답시간(Tolerable Response Time) 을 제공하는 범위에서 사용자에게 허용될 수 있는 최대 이용율이 최적 이용율이 된다 는 정의(Definition)를 근거로하여 개발되었다. 인내할 수 있는 응답시간이 길어지면 최적 이용율도 높아지므로 최적 이용율은 인내할 수 있는 응답시간의 최대값에서 구해 진다. 인내할 수 있는 응답시간은 서비스 목표(Service Objective) 가 주어지면 도출 해낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 인내할 수 있는 응답시간이 0.24초라는 것과 최적 이용 율의 세가지 구성요소는 %wio, %sys, %usr이라는 것을 보여준다. 또한 최적 이용율을 결정하는 실제의 과정을 예시하기 위하여 UNIX 운영체제를 사용하는 IBM 3081 컴퓨터 의 최적 이용율을 구하는 과정을 보여준다.

산업용 로봇 제어를 위한 Preempt-RT 기반 멀티코어 모션 제어기의 구현 및 성능 평가 (Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Preempt-RT Based Multi-core Motion Controller for Industrial Robot)

  • Recently, with the ever-increasing complexity of industrial robot systems, it has been greatly attention to adopt a multi-core based motion controller with high cost-performance ratio. In this paper, we propose a software architecture that aims to utilize the computing power of multi-core processors. The key concept of our architecture is to use shared memory for the interplay between threads running on separate processor cores. And then, we have integrated our proposed architecture with an industrial standard compliant IDE for automatic code generation of motion runtime. For the performance evaluation, we constructed a test-bed consisting of a motion controller with Preempt-RT Linux based dual-core industrial PC and a 3-axis industrial robot platform. The experimental results show that the actuation time difference between axes is 10 ns in average and bounded up to 689 ns under $1000{\mu}s$ control period, which can come up with real-time performance for industrial robot.

Radiation tolerance of a small COTS single board computer for mobile robots

  • As robotics become more sophisticated, there are a growing number of generic systems being used for routine tasks in nuclear environments to reduce risk to radiation workers. The nuclear sector has called for more commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) devices and components to be used in preference to nuclear specific hardware, enabling robotic operations to become more affordable, reliable, and abundant. To ensure reliable operation in nuclear environments, particularly in high-gamma facilities, it is important to quantify the tolerance of electronic systems to ionizing radiation. To deliver their full potential to end-users, mobile robots require sophisticated autonomous behaviors and sensing, which requires significant computational power. A popular choice of computing system, used in low-cost mobile robots for nuclear environments, is the UP Core single board computer. This work presents estimates of the total ionizing dose that the UP Core running the Robot Operating System (ROS) can withstand, through gamma irradiation testing using a Co-60 source. The units were found to fail on average after 111.1 ± 5.5 Gy, due to faults in the on-board power management circuitry. Its small size and reasonable radiation tolerance make it a suitable candidate for robots in nuclear environments, with scope to use shielding to enhance operational lifetime.

앙상블 멀티태스킹 딥러닝 기반 경량 성별 분류 및 나이별 추정 (Light-weight Gender Classification and Age Estimation based on Ensemble Multi-tasking Deep Learning)

  • Image-based gender classification and age estimation of human are classic problems in computer vision. Most of researches in this field focus just only one task of either gender classification or age estimation and most of the reported methods for each task focus on accuracy performance and are not computationally light. Thus, running both tasks together simultaneously on low cost mobile or embedded systems with limited cpu processing speed and memory capacity are practically prohibited. In this paper, we propose a novel light-weight gender classification and age estimation method based on ensemble multitasking deep learning with light-weight processing neural network architecture, which processes both gender classification and age estimation simultaneously and in real-time even for embedded systems. Through experiments over various well-known datasets, it is shown that the proposed method performs comparably to the state-of-the-art gender classification and/or age estimation methods with respect to accuracy and runs fast enough (average 14fps) on a Jestson Nano embedded board.

THE EFFICIENT ESTIMATE OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COSTS IN THE CONSTRUCTION SITES

  • Recently as people's values are changing from development phase into running stage after quality of life, so that the needs of environmentally friendly construction are gradually increasing. Also populace discontent about the pollution during construction process such as the noise and vibration caused by construction machinery is increasing. Even though it is impossible to eliminate the construction pollution fully, it is necessary to make efforts to reduce construction pollution to a minimum. In terms of construction site operating, the first possible step for solving these matters directly is that the necessary sum of expenses must be secured as the environmental management costs in the conceptual phase. However, in fact, the environmental management costs have not been secured in the budget. Generally it is the major reason not arising proper activities to prevent the pollution in the construction site. The purpose of this research is to suggest the efficient budgeting method regarding Environmental management costs to ensure the necessary sum of environmental management expenses. To provide an efficient budgeting method, interviews with the person in charge of environment management was conducted. 78 construction sites was surveyed and environmental management costs were analyzed through their historical data from the survey. According to the results of analysis, the ratio of environmental management costs is revealed 0.45% of construction cost as average comparing 0.2% of legal limit. And usually the environmental management cost was appropriated into the safety management budget. So it is needed to isolate environmental management budget securely and modify the ratio of Environmental conservation Costs in Construction Technology Management Act.

제주지역에서 사육중인 더러브렛 종빈마의 여름철 방목행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Grazing Behavior of Thoroughbred Mares Grazed in Pasture at Summer Season of Jeju Island)

  • 본 연구는 경주마 생산 육성에 중요한 종빈마의 패독과 방목지에 있어 군별 및 개체별 행동양식을 조사하여 경주마 사양관리의 기초자료로 활용하기 위해 실시하였다. 방목 중인 포유 종빈마군에서는 채식이 62%, 기립 휴식이 31%, 음수가 3%, 횡와 휴식이 1%, 보행이 1%, 수유 행동은 2%가 발현되었는데 러닝은 발현되지 않았다. 포유 종빈마 개체별(3필) 행동발현비율의 평균은 채식이 295분으로 55%, 기립 휴식이 193분으로 36%, 보행과 음수가 각각 18분, 15분으로 3%, 수유가 13분으로 2%, 횡와 휴식이 6분으로 1%였다. 개체들은 평균적으로 grooming 11회, 배뇨 2회, 배분 1회의 행동발현이 관찰되었다. 패독에서 관리 중인 임신 종빈마 군에서는 기립 휴식이 48%, 채식 44%, 횡와 휴식 2%, 보행 4%, 음수 2%를 발현하였다. 임신 종빈마 개체별(3필) 발현 비율 평균은 채식 52%, 기립 40%, 보행 6%, 음수 2%였다. 개체들은 평균적으로 grooming 15회, 배뇨 1회, 배분 3회, 투쟁 1회, 구르기 2회의 행동발현이 관찰되었다. 이동패턴의 경우 옆 패독과 인접해 있는 곳에 집중되는 경향을 보였다.

빅데이터를 활용한 타자의 장타력과 일일 평균 기온 간의 상관관계 분석 (Big Data Analysis of the Correlation between Average Daily Temperature and Batting Power)

  • KBO리그는 경기수가 많아서 오랜 기간에 걸쳐서 진행되고 있다. 또한 우리나라는 다양하고 뚜렷한 기후를 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 야구기록 중 홈런, 3루타, 2루타, 루타수, 장타율, 순장타율 등 장타력에 관한 기록과 일일 평균 기온과의 상관 관계를 분석하고 야구 기록 중 3차 기록을 정의하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 일일 평균 기온 데이터와 2019년 KBO 리그에서 규정타석에 진입한 타자를 대상으로 SEMMA 기법을 통하여 상관관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여 일일 평균 기온이 타자들의 장타력에 영향을 주었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 20.0도에서 24.9도 사이를 기록한 날에 타자들의 장타력이 낮아졌다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 타자가 상대하는 투수의 몸 상태와 관련있다고 논의하였다. 이에 경기 외적인 조건을 통하여 야구 경기에서 선수, 코칭스태프, 프런트가 경기에 활용할 수 있음을 기대할 수 있다. 또한 차후 타격 기록 뿐만 아니라 투구, 주루, 수비 등의 기록을 함께 분석하면 더욱 유용한 분석 모델이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
