  • 일반적인 고무가공 공정에 비해 열가소성 고무 (Thermoplastic Elastomer: TPE)의 가공은 재료가 공공정의 단축, 생산공정의 간소화, scrap의 재활용 둥의 장점과 이에 따른 불량률 저하에 의한 폐기물감소, 제조원가 감소 및 부가가치성을 높일 수 있어 국제 경쟁력 확보에 유리하다. 본 연구에서는 Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM)고무와 polypropylene을 사용하여 동적가교 (dynamic vulcanization)에 의해 블렌드를 제조한 후, glass insert molding법을 이용하여 fixed glass weather-strip을 성형하였다. 성형품의 기계적인 특성을 조사하기 위하여 인장강도, 신장율. 경도, 비중을 측정하였으며, mixing 상태는 SEM 사진을 통하여 관찰하였다. TPE molding 부분과 glass를 일체 성형하므로써 공정의 효율성에 대한 기여 및 생산 자동화에 유리할 것으로 기대한다.

  • Styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)은 내마모성, 상용성, 방진성이 우수 하지만, SBR은 주쇄의 불포화기때문에 오존에 의해 쉽게 손상을 받고 탄화수소에 쉽게 팽윤되어 점탄성을 잃어버려 고무제품으로서의 수명을 단축시킨다. 따라서, 본 연구의 목적은 SBR 고무의 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위함이다. 내오존성과 기계적물성을 개선시키기 위해서 내오존성이 우수한 ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer(EPDM)을 다양한 비율로 블렌드하고, 방진제품으로써의 적합성을 고려하기 위하여 다양한 분석기술을 사용하여 경도, 열분해 온도, 모폴러지, 유리전이온도, 내오존성, 정적 스프링정수를 측정하였다. 본 실험을 통하여 SBR과 EPDM 블렌드의 조성변화에 따른 특성을 연구한 결과, SBR에 대하여 EPDM 30% 블렌드시 상용성이 우수하고, 내오존성이 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 1906년 George Oenslager에 의해 처음으로 아닐린계 유기 가황 촉진제를 발견한 이 후 현재 많은 종류의 유기 가황 촉진제가 알려져 있으며 이들 유기 가황 촉진제를 그 특성에 맞도록 병용하면 더욱 효과적이고 이것을 2종 혹은 3종을 병용하면 또 다른 효과를 나타낸다. 최근 고무 산업의 많은 분야에서 생산성 향상 및 제조환경 개선 요구에 부응하기위하여 사출 기법이 도입되고 있으며 이를 위해서 고속 가류형 고무 컴파운드의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 적절한 가류 시간 확보를 위하여 다양한 종류의 촉진제에 대한 연구, 컴파운드의 적절한 저장 안정 기간 확보에 대한 연구, pellet 형상 제조 시 자중에 의한 autoadhesion 감소에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 NR/BR compounds에 MBTS(2,2' Dithiobisbenzothiazole), TMTM(Tetramethylthiuram Monosulfide), ZDMC(Zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate), CBS(N-Cyclohexyl benzothiazolyl-2-sulfenamide), DPG(Diphenylguanidine)를 각각 병용하여 가황 고무의 가황 특성 및 기계적 물성을 비교 분석하였다. 촉진제 병용에 따른 NR/BR compounds를 평가한 결과 MBTS 1.5 phr, TMTM 0.5 phr, DPG 0.15 phr을 사용한 경우 가장 우수한 가황 특성($t_{90}$: 235 sec, $T_{max}$: 5.77 Nm)을 나타내었으며 100, 300% 모듈러스 및 인열 강도 값이 각각 2.180, 5.656 MPa, 59.58 kgf/cm으로 가장 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

전투화용 고무의 가속수명예측 (Accelerated Life Prediction of the Rubber for Combat Boots)

  • 현재 군에 보급되고 있는 접착식 전투화용 고무의 대표적인 노화현상은 열에 의한 정기적인 스트레스 노화가 대표적이다. 본 연구에서는 전투화용 고무의 노화시험을 실시하고, 아레니우스 관계식을 이용하여 노화온도($60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$)에 따른 반응속도 상수 k를 구하였다. 제품의 수명한계를 인장강도는 30% 감소시점, 신장률은 50% 감소시점, 내마모도는 380%로 가정하였으며, ln($P/P_0$) 및 활성화 에너지와 상수를 고려한 수명예측을 하였다. 이를 통해 노화온도에 영향을 받은 전투화용 고무의 수명을 예측하였고, 그 결과 실온($20^{\circ}C$)에서 예상수명이 10년 이상임을 확인할 수 있었다.

공리적 접근을 이용한 DVD용 초미세 발포 방진재 개발 (Developing Microcellular Foamed Vibration Isolator for DVD by Axiomatic Approach)

  • As the rotational speed of optical disk drive is increasing nowadays, the reliability to vibration and shock becomes more important. For this, various of rubber vibration isolators are being developed by varying the shape and hardness. But it is difficult for the hardness of common used rubber to be lowered below Duro 30 degrees, and because of the shape complexity of rubber vibration isolator there are difficulties of analysis. Microcellular foamed vibration isolator has various cell densities and cell sizes, so it can vary the stiffness and damping coefficient. In addition, its hardness can be lowered below Duro 30 degrees. Axiomatic Approach is very useful design method for designing new product or new process. Axiomatic Approach's character is scientific and analytical method. In this paper, developing process of microcellular foamed vibration isolator for DVD is presented with Axiomatic Approach.

TPE를 적용한 자동차 윈도우 모터커버의 개발 (Development of Automobile Windows Motor Cover by Thermoplastic Elastomer(TPE))

  • It was attempted to develop an auto part by over molding injection mold that produces precision products in high productivity with use of an eco-friendly TPE substitute material for NBR. NBR is currently used in motor gear cover, one of the key parts in motor module for auto doors. Gear cover is composed of plastics and rubber mostly today, which requires a two (2) step process for production using two presses of different types. A hot press is used at this time for forming the rubber, which has drawback of requiring a rather long forming time of 400 seconds for one forming process. Even though this difficulty is overcome by reducing production time through employment of multi-cavity molds, time for forming process must be shortened for improvement of the productivity eventually, and the existing method of insert injection for products that have been formed with plastic material must be outgrown. In this point of view, over molding injection using TPE has a big advantage. Forming time is shortened to 54 seconds, and working the two (2) processes in series by one (1) press could solve the durability problem caused by deflection of the plastics, not to mention shortening the process time. Enhancement of productivity by almost 80% and improvement in the accuracy of the product could thus be achieved.

양산중질유(量産重質油)를 원료(原料)로한 신제품(新製品) 개발실용화(開發實用化)를 위(爲)한 조사연구(調査硏究) (Studies on physical properties and application to new products from Heavy Residual Fuel Oil as Raw Materials)

  • Heavy residual fuel oils is a mixture of reduced crude from crude unit, bottom products from vacuum and/or catalytic cracking unit with distillate to meet the specification and generally used as heavy fuel oil for large combustion engines, boilers, etc$\cdots$. But this study was made to investigate heavy residual fuel oils for using as industrial raw material and resulted the following possiblities as valuable raw material as well as heavy fuel oil. 1) Production of straight asphalt through vacuum distillation unit. 2) Using straight asphalt from vacuum distillation unit for manufacturing of blown asphalts, cut back asphalts, emulsified asphalts and asphalt compound, rubber/asphalt sheet, etc$\cdots$. 3) Using waxy oil side streams for manufacturing of raw oil to be lube oil base stocks through solvent dewaxing. 4) Production of lube base oils and rubber process oils from dewaxed raw oil through chemical treatments. 5) Manufacturing of paraffine wax from slack wax to be produced as by product of dewaxing process.

신개발 유두컵 라이너용 고무조성물의 물리적 특성 조사 (Study on the Physical Properties of New Developed Teat Cup Liner Compounds)

  • The teat cup liner compounds with improved physical property were developed using tri-polymer blend of natural rubber(NR), ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber(EPDM) and butyl rubber, and the changes of the physical properties of compounds were measured under various conditions such as standard, thermal, alkaline detergent and acid solutions aging conditions. The hardness of the new teat cup liner compound 1 was 50 and that of the compound 2 was 51 under standard condition. The tensile strength and elongation of the new compound 1 were $154kgf/cm^2$ and 675% under the standard condition, respectively. Also, those of the new compound 2 were 180 kgf/cm and 634% under the same condition. Their hardness were increased about $2{\sim}6%$ and the tensile strength and elongation were decreased about 10% under the $25^{\circ}C$ water and detergent solutions. Even though the new teat cup liner compounds exhibited so much decreased tensile properties under the $105^{\circ}C$ thermal aged condition, they sustained more stable aged physical properties including tensile strength and elongation than those of imported teat cup liner materials. Consequently, the new teat cup liner compounds would give prolonged lift cycle if they are used as a teat cup liner product.

경기도 지역 전략산업 선정에 관한 시론적 연구 (A Study on the Selection of Strategic Industry in Gyeonggi Province)

  • The aim of this study is to find the strategic industries that fulfills the on-site demands of the Gyeonggi province region related to the advancement and development of the local industries. As the results of the analysis, the 4 major strategic industries in the Gyeonggi province region were determined to be (1) electronic component, computer, visual, acoustic and telecommunication equipment manufacturing, (2) pulp, paper and paper product manufacturing, (3) medical substances and pharmaceutical product manufacturing, and (4) rubber and plastic product manufacturing. The industry of concordance between the 4 major strategic industry of the Gyeonggi province determined in this Study and the 13 future growth engine industry of Korea was the area of intelligent semiconductor. Accordingly, it was analyzed that there is a need to strategically cultivate the electrical and electronic telecommunication device industry, which is ranked the $1^{st}$among the strategic industries of Gyeonggi province by generating synergic effects with the policy of the government for nurturing of intelligent semiconductor industry.

유한요소해석과 다구찌 방법에 의한 디스크 캘리퍼 씰 홈의 형상 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Shape Optimization for Seal Groove of Disc Caliper using Finite Element Method and Taguchi's Method)

  • A typical disk brake system consists of caliper housing, piston, seal and two pads etc. The configuration of seal groove, dimension of piston and seal, and seal material properties are important ones for brake performance, as these affect the retraction of piston. The rubber seal is designed to perform dual functions of sealing the brake oil at brake-applied and retracting the caliper piston at brake-released. In this paper, the seal stress is analyzed using Finite Element Method and experiment is conducted by Taguchi's Method. We attempt to quantify the critical design factors in the seal groove and evaluate their impact on some of brake performance factors. The investigation obtained from this study can not only enhance the seal groove design optimization, but also reduce product prototype testing and development time.
