유리분말 및 고무 충진 페놀수지의 열안정성 및 Glass Braid/페놀수지 복합재료의 동역학적 열특성 (Thermal Stability of Glass Powder and Rubber-Filled Phenolic Resins and Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Glass Braid/Phenolic Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 페놀수지의 열안정성 그리고 glass braid/페놀수지 복합재료의 동역학적 열특성에 미치는 유리분말 및 액상 니트릴고무(NBR)의 영향을 열중량분석기와 동역학적 열분석기를 이용하여 조사하였다. 수용성 페놀수지에 충진된 유리분말과 NBR은 페놀수지의 열안정성과 복합재료의 저장탄성률 그리고 tan ${\delta}$ 변화에 중요한 영향을 미쳤다. 유리분말의 충진은 페놀수지의 열안정성을 향상시키는 반면, NBR의 존재는 특정 온도영역에서 페놀수지의 중량감소를 초래하였다. 충진제의 유 무에 따른 페놀수지의 열안정성은 경화온도뿐만 아니라 경화시간에도 의존하였다. 스트립형태의 glass braid/페놀수지 복합재료의 저장탄성률과 tan ${\delta}$의 변화는 유리분말과 NBR이 혼합된 매트릭스의 도입과 경화조건에 의해 크게 영향을 받았다.

Mechanism of Cryogenic Shredding Process of Scrap Tire

  • There are about 41% (by weight) of scrap tires were pulverized to produce rubber powder and granules in the tire recycling industry of Taiwan. However, the reuse of the by-products, steel and fiber, of the scrap tires still needs to be improved. It is difficult to remove the remaining rubber on the surface of steel or fiber. This problem reduce the availability for further reuse of steel and fiber. In addition to the improvement of magnetic, gravity separation techniques or carbonization process, using cryogenic shredding process to separate rubber and fiber (or steel) had been used as another alternative. Cryogenic shredding process for scrap tires showed many advantages, the objective of this paper is to explore the mechanisms for the cryogenic shredding process of scrap tires. Cryo-SEM is used to investigate the topographic information, in-situ, from room temperature to -195$^{\circ}C$ . One square inch shredded tire chips are prepared for SEM study. The percentage of the shrinkage of rubber is also estimated, ca. 6.7%. Mechanisms of cryogenic shredding effects on the tire chips are discussed. The proper practice of cryogenic shredding process far scrap tires is also suggested.

  • 톨루엔에 녹인 폴리부타디엔을 탄소가루의 결합재로 사용하였을 때, 탄소반죽은 전극 제작 후 용매 증발에 의하여 기계적 물성을 보였으며, 이 성질은 탄소반죽전극 실용화의 선행조건을 충족시키는 것이었다. 부타디엔 고무를 결합재로 사용하여 새로운 효소전극을 제작하고, 그것이 정량적인 전기화학적 행동을 보이는지 확인하기 위하여 여러 가지 전기화학 속도론적 파라메터 즉 대칭인자, 교환전류밀도, 이중층의 축전용량, 시간상수, 최대전류, Michaelis 상수 등을 구하였다. 이 결과들은 부타디엔 고무가 탄소반죽전극 실용화에 추천할 만한 위한 결합재임을 보여 주는 것이었다.

철계 연자성 합금 분말을 함유한 고무 복합재의 전파흡수특성 (Microwave Absorbing Properties of Rubber Composites Containing Soft Magnetic Fe-Alloy Particles)

  • Magnetic and dielectric properties of rubber composites are controlled by using two kinds of high-permeability metal particles with different electrical conductivity (Sendust, Permalloy), and their effect on microwave absorbance has been investigated, focusing on the quasi-microwave frequency band (0.8-2 GHz). Noise absorbing sheets are composite materials of magnetic flake particles of high aspect ratio dispersed in polymer matrix with various filler amount of 80-90 wt.%. The frequency dispersion and magnitude of complex permeability is almost the same for Sendust and Permalloy composite specimens. However, the complex permittivity of the Permalloy composite (${{\varepsilon}_r}^{\prime}{\simeq}250$, ${{\varepsilon}_r}^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\simeq}50$) is much greater than that of Sendust composite (${{\varepsilon}_r}^{\prime}{\simeq}70$, ${{\varepsilon}_r}^{{\prime}{\prime}}{\simeq}0$). Due to the large dielectric permittivity of Permalloy composite, the absorbing band is shifted to lower frequency region. However, the investigation of impedance matching reveals that the magnetic permeability is still small to satisfy the zero-reflected condition at the quasi-microwave frequency band, resulting in a small microwave absorbance lower than 10 dB.

CIP 부피비에 따른 이방성 MRE의 전단계수 변화율 (The Variation Rate of Shear Modulus for Anisotropic Magneto-rheological Elastomer due to Volume Fraction of CIP)

  • MRE(magneto-rheological elastomers) is a material which shows reversible and various modulus in magnetic field. Comparing to conventional rubber vibration isolator, MREs are able to absorb vibration of broader frequency range. These characteristic phenomena result from the orientation of magnetic particles named carbonyl iron powder(CIP) in rubber matrix. In this paper, simulation on variation rate of shear modulus for anisotropic MRE due to volume fraction of CIP and an effective permeability model was applied to predict the field-induced shear modulus of MREs. Also, the variation rate of shear modulus for anisotropic MRE was derived using magneto-mechanical theory. Based on Maxwell-Garnett mixing rule, the increment of shear modulus was calculated to evaluate the shear modulus of MREs with column structure of CIP due to induced current. The simulation results on variation rate of shear modulus can be applied to the variable mechanical system of MRE such as tunable vibration absorber, stiffness variable bush and mount.

Application of expert systems in prediction of flexural strength of cement mortars

  • In this study, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) prediction models for flexural strength of the cement mortars have been developed. For purpose of constructing this models, 12 different mixes with 144 specimens of the 2, 7, 28 and 90 days flexural strength experimental results of cement mortars containing pure Portland cement (PC), blast furnace slag (BFS), waste tire rubber powder (WTRP) and BFS+WTRP used in training and testing for ANN and ANFIS were gathered from the standard cement tests. The data used in the ANN and ANFIS models are arranged in a format of four input parameters that cover the Portland cement, BFS, WTRP and age of samples and an output parameter which is flexural strength of cement mortars. The ANN and ANFIS models have produced notable excellent outputs with higher coefficients of determination of $R^2$, RMS and MAPE. For the testing of dataset, the $R^2$, RMS and MAPE values for the ANN model were 0.9892, 0.1715 and 0.0212, respectively. Furthermore, the $R^2$, RMS and MAPE values for the ANFIS model were 0.9831, 0.1947 and 0.0270, respectively. As a result, in the models, the training and testing results indicated that experimental data can be estimated to a superior close extent by the ANN and ANFIS models.

폐고무분말을 혼입한 UP 폴리머모르타르의 경화수축 및 부착강도 (Adhesive Strength and Setting Shrinkage of UP Polymer Mortar Intermixed with Waste Rubber Powder)

  • In this study, the MMA-modified paste mixed waste rubber powder, which has a small elastic modulus and a large modification, was produced by using the soft unsaturated polyester resin(UP) as a binder. Then the adhesive properties according to the matrices in both underwater and air-dry conditions and the hardening shrinkage according to the contents of shrinkage reducing agent(SRA) and of MMA were surveyed. The experimental results show that, regardless of humidity of matrices the adhesive strength of polymer concrete was larger than cement concrete. the adhesive strength of MMA content of 20% was larger than MMA content of 30%. regardless of matrix materials the adhesive strength in water condition were $20{\sim}30%$ comparing with the air-dry condition. The case of MMA content of 20% showed the largest adhesive strength. In the hardening shrinkage experiment, the hardening shrinkage reduced as MMA and SRA contents increased, and the decrease of the hardening shrinkage by SRA was larger.

  • MRE(Magneto-rheological Elastomer) is a material which shows reversible and various modulus in magnetic field. Comparing to conventional rubber vibration isolator, MREs are able to absorb broader frequency range of vibration. These characteristic phenomena result from the orientation of magnetic particle (i.e., chain-like formation) in rubber matrix. In this study, NR was used as a matrix in order to manufacture MREs. Magnetic reactive powder(MRP), having rapid magnetic reaction, was selected as a magnetic particle to give magnetic field reactive modulus. The mechanical properties of manufactured MREs were measured without the application of magnetic field. The results showed that the tensile property and resilience were decreased while the hardness was increased with the addition of CIP. The analysis of MR effect was carried out by FFT analyzer with various magnetic flux. As the addition of MRP and magnetic flux increased, increment of MR effect was observed.

  • 새로운 TPE(Thermoplastic Elastomer) 블렌드 재료로서 폐 EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)분말의 사용에 따른 환경문제를 해결하고, TPE의 고부가 가치화를 위하여 PP (Polypropylene)와 폐 EPDM분말을 주원료로 하고, 동방향 이축압출기(Co-rotating Twin Screw Extruder)를 사용하여 동적가교를 이루어 TPE재료를 제조하였다. TPE 재료의 인장강도, 파단신율, 탄성율 등의 물성을 향상시킬 목적으로 스크류 조합별로 폐 EPDM/PP를 블렌드하여 기계적물성을 조사하였으며, 모폴로지를 조사하였다. 스크류 조합에서는 혼련판과 역 스크류 엘리먼트의 수가 증가할수록 블렌드물의 전단력과 체류시간이 증가하여 동적가교가 증가하였다.
