Time goes on, Ad Hoc network is hot issues. So far, there are a lot of protocols have been proposed for Ad Hoc routing protocol to support the mobility. This paper presents an enhanced DSDV(Destination-Sequenced Distance Vector) routing protocol which nominates one node to take care of a specific area. Simply Area-Aware(AA) DSDV routing protocol has one nominee to take care of some area. It has two jobs. One is to take care of its neighbour and another is to transfer the routing table to its other node as it works. It is called as Area Nominee(AN). The new scheme extends the routing table to include the nominee in the area. The general node is the same as the previous DSDV routing protocol. In the other hands, the node which is nominated has two routing protocols. One is for Regional Routing(RR) table which is the same routing table in DSDV. Another is Global Routing(GR) table which is about the area round its area which it cares nearby. GR table is the table for the designated node like the nominee. Each area has one nominee to transfer between ANs. It has only nominee's information about every area. This concept decreases the topology size and makes the information of topology more accurate.

This paper proposes a improved bitmap routing protocol, which finds the best energy efficient routing path by minimizing the network overheads and prolongs the overall network lifetime. Jung proposed a bitmap scheme for sensor networks. His scheme uses a bitmap table to represent the connection information between nodes. However, it has a problem that the table size is depends on the number of nodes in the sensor networks. The problem is very serious in the sensor node with a limited memory. Thereby, this paper proposes a improved bitmap routing protocol to solve the problem in Jung's scheme. Proposed protocol over the memory restricted sensor network could optimize the size of bitmap table by applying the deployed network property. Proposed protocol could be used in the diversity of sensor networks due to it has minimum memory overheads.
Depending on the location of the rendezvous point (RP), the network efficiency is determined in the core based tree (CBT) or protocol independent multicast-sparse mode (PIM-5M) multicasting protocol to provide the multicast services based on the shared tree. In this paper, a new algorithm to allocate the RP using the estimated values of the total cost and the size(number of entries) of the routing tables is proposed for efficiently controlling the cost and the number of routing table entries. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm reduces the total cost in 5.37%, and the size of routing tables in 13.35% as compared to the previous algorithm.

In this paper, we have studied optimal FCL(Frequently Called List) table sizes in a grid topology circuit-switched network including wireless subscribers. The FCL table gives the position information of a destination subscriber for a call. When the call is generated in a node, this call is routed by the referenced position information of the destination subscriber in FCL table. In this paper, we have proposed an efficient routing algorithm, mixed FSR(Flood Search Routing) and DAR(Dynamic Adaptive Routing), considering moving wireless subscribers. Also, we have simulated hit ratio and incorrect ratio as performance parameters, consequently proposed the object function composed of table search time, hit ratio, incorrect ratio, FSR time and DAR time, and derived the optimal FCL table size by using it.

As the P2P System is a distributed system that shares resources of nodes that participate in the system, all the nodes serve as a role of server and client. Currently, although systematic, structured P2P systems such as Chord, Pastry, and Tapestry were suggested based on the distributed hash table, these systems are limited to $log_2N$ for performance efficiency. For this enhanced performance efficiency limited, the article herein suggests group routing algorithm. The suggested algorithm is a node-to-group routing algorithm which divides circular address space into groups and uses a concept of pointer representing each group, which is an algorithm where routing is performed based on pointer. To evaluate algorithm performance, a comparative analysis was conducted on average hops, routing table size, and delayed transmission for chord and routing, a signature algorithm in P2P systems. Therefore, enhanced performance is verified for comparative items from the simulation results.

In Mobile ad hoc networks, AODV is one of the famous on-demand routing protocol, which use the routing tables in the nodes if possible, or Route Discovery Process (RDP) is triggered to find a new route. However increasing the traffic of RDP causes dropping of the network performance in the large size of ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose a novel routing protocol, named as AOZDV (Ad hoc On-demand Zone and Distance-Vector Routing), which enhances the AODV protocol with zone routing. AOZDV creates a Zone with neighbor nodes of the source/destination using traffic and power information, and utilizes Destination-Vector Table for internal routing in the Zone. We show by simulations that AOZDV can reduce the occurrence rate of route fail and RDP caused by route fail compared to existing routing protocols such as DSR and AODV.
Compact routing intends to achieve good tradeoff between the routing path length and the memory overhead, and is recently considered as a main alternative to overcome the fundamental scaling problems of the Internet routing system. Plenty of studies have been conducted on compact routing, and quite a few universal compact routing schemes have been designed for arbitrary network topologies. However, it is generally believed that specialized compact routing schemes for peculiar network topologies can have better performance than universal ones. Studies on complex networks have uncovered that most real-world networks exhibit power-law degree distributions, i.e., a few nodes have very high degrees while many other nodes have low degrees. High-degree nodes play the crucial role of hubs in communication and inter-networking. Based on this fact, we propose two highest-degree landmark based compact routing schemes, namely HDLR and $HDLR^+$. Theoretical analysis on random power-law graphs shows that the two schemes can achieve better space-stretch trade-offs than previous compact routing schemes. Simulations conducted on random power-law graphs and real-world AS-level Internet graph validate the effectiveness of our schemes.

In this paper. the architecture of a high-speed ATM router using ATM switch is studied and the performance of the high-speed ATM router is analyzed through simulation. The high-speed ATM router using ATM switch is able to reduce the load of router and the processing time of a packet in the router. The size of router buffers has been studied through simulation processes for the analysis of performance capacity in due course of making changes in routing time(RT), which is the performance capacity parameters of high-speed ATM routers, flow table size(FS), flow live time(FT) and input circuit efficiencies. The result of this study can be used as the source material for analyzing the suitability of equipment in upgrading networks and applying high-speed ATM routers by using ATM switches.
IP address lookup of router searches and decide proper output link using destination address of IP packet that arrie into router. The IP address lookup is essential part in te development of high-speed router needed to high-speed backbone network as one of bottleneck of router performance. This paper introduces DTC data structure that can support gigabit IP address lookup by dynamic trie compression technique that just uses small memory in conventional Pentium CPU. When make a forwarding table by trie compression, the DTC can dynamically select a size of data structure with considering correlation between table's size and searching speed. Also, when compress the prefix trie, DTC makes IP address lookup on the forwarding table of a search on the high speed SRAM cache by minimizing the size of data structure reflecting the structure of the trie. In the experiment result, the DTC data structure recorded performance of maximum $12.5{\times}10^5$ LPS (lookup per second) in conventional Pentium CPU through a dynamic building of most suitable compression over variety of routing tables.

The explosive growth of the Internet brought serious problems to the Internet routing infrastructure. Especially scaling problems is recognized more seriously. The ever increasing user population, as well as multiple other factors including multi-homing, traffic engineering, and policy routing, have been driving the growth of Default Free Zone (DFZ) routing table size at an alarming rate. While it has been long recognized that the existing routing architecture may have serious scalability problems, effective solutions have yet to be identified, developed, and deployed. Recently, several attempts for finding the concrete problems are made. Especially the report of the routing and addressing workshop which the IAB (Internet Architecture Board) held on 2006 is described the problems of the current internet in detail. This document describes those problems and introduces the related activity to solve the problems.
