Design of an Automatic Placement System for PCBs (PCB 자동 배치 시스템의 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of a placement sysyem integrated in PCB design system. to get an optimal component positioning from part and net list. Unplaced components are placed in initial process using modified cluster development algorithm and are swapped in improvement process using the GFDR(Generalized Force Directed Relaxation) algorithm. The result is optimized in post process by component rotating or pin/gate swapping. Experimental results shwo that the placement system produces manufacturable layouts which are optimal in terms of total routing length.

  • In this study, we newly formulated the link capcity allocation problem and the link capacity allocation and routing problem in an voice/data integrated network by the fuzzy set concept. We developed efficient algorithms for the above fuzzified problems and successfully showed that the fuzzy set theory is the powerful tool for the design problems in communication networks.

Interference-Prediction based Online Routing Aglorithm for MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS 트래픽 엔지니어링을 위한 간섭 예측 기반의 online 라우팅 알고리듬)

  • A new online routing algerian is proposed in this paper, which use the interference-prediction to solve the network congestion originated from extension of Internet scope and increasing amount of traffic. The end-to-end QoS has to be guaranteed in order to satisfy service level agreements (SLAs) in the integrated networks of next generation. For this purpose, bandwidth is allocated dynamically and effectively, moreover the path selection algorithm is required while considering the network performance. The proposed algorithm predicts the level of how much the amount of current demand interferes the future potential traffic, and then minimizes it. The proposed algorithm considers the bandwidth on demand, link state, and the information about ingress-egress pairs to maximize the network performance and to prevent the waste of the limited resources. In addition, the interference-prediction supports the bandwidth guarantee in dynamic network to accept more requests. In the result, the proposed algorithm performs the effective admission control and QoS routing. In this paper, we analyze the required conditions of routing algorithms, the aspect of recent research, and the representative algorithms to propose the optimized path selection algorithm adequate to Internet franc engineering. Based on these results, we analyze the problems of existing algorithms and propose our algorithm. The simulation shows improved performance by comparing with other algorithms and analyzing them.

  • This paper has been focused on the development of integrated automotive muffler system to meet getting more stringent sound quality target. Typically, muffler system consists of resonator and main muffler. The many varieties in exhaust pipe routing and the flexibility in muffler design make it possible to design an exhaust system to deliver tailpipe sound for specific sound quality requirement. In recent, it is strongly recommended that the function of resonator be merged into that of main muffler due to severe space limitation of underbody. The main objective of the paper is to study the effects of various geometrical parameters on the muffler performance. This work has succeeded in eliminating resonator without loss of muffler performance. This work has also investigated the effect of diameter of hole, geometries of pipes and location of muffler on the sound quality.

A Multiobjective Process Planning of Flexible Assembly Systems with Evolutionary Algorithms (진화알고리듬을 이용한 유연조립시스템의 다목적 공정계획)

  • This paper deals with a multiobjective process planning problem of flexible assembly systems(FASs). The FAS planning problem addressed in this paper is an integrated one of the assignment of assembly tasks to stations and the determination of assembly routing, while satisfying precedence relations among the tasks and flexibility capacity for each station. In this research, we consider two objectives: minimizing transfer time of the products among stations and absolute deviation of workstation workload(ADWW). We place emphasis on finding a set of diverse near Pareto or true Pareto optimal solutions. To achieve this, we present a new multiobjective coevolutionary algorithm for the integrated problem here, named a multiobjective symbiotic evolutionary algorithm(MOSEA). The structure of the algorithm and the strategies of evolution are devised in this paper to enhance the search ability. Extensive computational experiments are carried out to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a promising method for the integrated and multiobjective problem.

A Comparison Study on Retailer-managed and Vendor-managed Inventory Policies in the Retail Supply Chain (소매점 공급사슬에서 소매점주도와 공급자주도 재고정책에 대한 비교 연구)

  • Vendor-managed inventory policy(VMIP) is a supply-chain initiative where the supplier is authorized to manage inventories of items at retail locations. In VMIP, the supplier monitors sales and stock information at retail locations and makes decisions of inventory replenishment and transportation simultaneously. VMIP has been known as an effective supply chain strategy that can realize many of benefits obtainable only in a fully integrated supply chain. However, VMIP does not always lead to lower the supply chain cost. It sometimes generates the total supply chain cost higher than the traditional retailer-managed inventory policy (RMIP). In this paper, we perform a comparison study on RMIP and VMIP in the retail supply chain which consists of a single supplier and a number of retailers. We formulate mixed integer programming models for both RMIP and VMIP with vehicle routing problems and perform computational experiments on various test problems. Furthermore, we derive the conditions which guarantee the dominant position for VMIP with respect to total supply chain cost in the simple retail supply chain.

  • MPLS is a integrated technology by using routing function and label swapping in the network layer. Based on the previous forwarding equivalence classes, it adds the fixed length label in ingress of the MPLS domain. For the routing, without the packet header information, it uses label for the forwarding decisions. In this paper, traffic engineering requirements in the MPLS internet will be setup. The traffic engineering function have to be performed previously with the network topology. In addition to, we presents the IP network topology and main function with MPLS signaling protocol.

A Heuristic for Dual Mode Routing with Vehicle and Drone

  • In this paper we consider the problem of finding the triplet (S,${\pi}$,f), where $S{\subseteq}V$, ${\pi}$ is a sequence of nodes in S and $f:V{\backslash}S{\rightarrow}S$ for a given complete graph G=(V,E). In particular, there exist two costs, $c^V_{uv}$ and $c^D_{uv}$ for $(u,v){\in}E$, and the cost of triplet (S,${\pi}$,f) is defined as $\sum_{i=1}^{{\mid}S{\mid}}c^V_{{\pi}(i){\pi}(i+1)}+2$ ${\sum_{u{\in}V{\backslash}S}c^D_{uf(u)}$. This problem is motivated by the integrated routing of the vehicle and drone for urban delivery services. Since a well-known NP-complete TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) is a special case of our problem, we cannot expect to have any polynomial-time algorithm unless P=NP. Furthermore, for practical purposes, we may not rely on time-exhaustive enumeration method such as branch-and-bound and branch-and-cut. This paper suggests the simple heuristic which is motivated by the MST (minimum spanning tree)-based approximation algorithm and neighborhood search heuristic for TSP.

Cost-Effective Replication Schemes for Query Load Balancing in DHT-Based Peer-to-Peer File Searches

  • In past few years, distributed hash table (DHT)-based P2P systems have been proven to be a promising way to manage decentralized index information and provide efficient lookup services. However, the skewness of users' preferences regarding keywords contained in a multi-keyword query causes a query load imbalance that combines both routing and response load. This imbalance means long file retrieval latency that negatively influences the overall system performance. Although index replication has a great potential for alleviating this problem, existing schemes did not explicitly address it or incurred high cost. To overcome this issue, we propose, in this paper, an integrated solution that consists of three replication schemes to alleviate query load imbalance while minimizing the cost. The first scheme is an active index replication that is used in order to decrease routing load in the system and to distribute response load of an index among peers that store replicas of the index. The second scheme is a proactive pointer replication that places location information of each index to a predetermined number of peers for reducing maintenance cost between the index and its replicas. The third scheme is a passive index replication that guarantees the maximum query load of peers. The result of simulations indicates that the proposed schemes can help alleviate the query load imbalance of peers. Moreover, it was found by comparison that our schemes are more cost-effective on placing replicas than PCache and EAD.

A Study on the Performance of Multicast Transmission Protocol using FEC Method and Local Recovery Method based on Receiver in Mobile Host (이동 호스트에서 FEC기법과 수신자 기반 지역복극 방식의 멀티캐스트 전송 프로토콜 연구)

  • Multicast in mobile host has the problem of hast mobility, multicast decision, triangle routing, tunnel convergence, implosion of retransmission, and bandwidth waste. In particular, the bandwidth waste in radio is a definite factor that decreases transmission rate. To solve the problems, this paper proposes a new multicast transmission protocol called FIM(Forward Error Correction Integrated Multicast), which supports reliable packet recovery mechanism by integrating If Mobility Support for the host mobility, IGMP(Interned Group Management Protocol) for the group management, and DVMRP(Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol) for the multicast routing, and it also uses FEC and the local recovery method based on receiver. The performance measurement is performed by dividing the losses into the homogeneous independent loss, the heterogeneous independent loss, and the shared source link loss model.. The result shows that the performances improves in proportion to the size of local areal group when the size of transmission group exceeds designated size. This indicates FIM is effective in the environment where there are much of data and many receivers in the mobile host.
