Utilization of the Route Table for the Agent's Move in the 3D Game Map (3D 게임지도에서 에이젼트 이동을 위한 경로표 활용)

  • The use of the A* for the path search of the agent in the game map gives the computational overhead in real time game processing. To solve this problem, the route table was presented for the 2D game This route table is made in the game development phase and utilized in game playing. The route table designed for 2D game is extended for 3D game in this paper. But the memory space is required too much. This Problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

  • A route control in railway is one of the very important system to operate a train. An efficient train route control assures to increase train operation performance with a same railway system. The erroneous route control can accompany serious accidents which occur train collision or derailment which provokes death. A Route control carries out exactly lest the accident should take place. An interlocking table is widely used for the exact route control. The table has the problem of its exactness proving because it has been established by experts. In this paper, We tried to formalize a route control using mathematical logic. A route consists of symbolized tracks, signals, switch and crossing. It represents as a set, respectively. We proposed route setting control logic, converted the elements to set logics and construct route logics with the set logics of the elements. Finally we proposed a model which presents a prototype routes and we proved the proposed logics using the proposed method.

  • MANET has a highly dynamic topology because it consists of only mobile nodes. Various attacks using these characteristics exist. Among them, damage of the attacks based flooding such as DoS or DDos is large and traceback of the attack node is not easy. It is because route information by moving of intermediate nodes which pass the data changes frequently. In this paper, we propose table-based traceback technique to perform efficient traceback although route information by moving of nodes changes frequently. Cluster head manages route management table in order to form cluster status table and network topology snapshot for storing the location information of mobile nodes when cluster member nodes change. Also, bloom filter is used to reduce the amount of storing route information. The performance of the proposed technique is confirmed through experiment.

Two-Level Tries: A General Acceleration Structure for Parallel Routing Table Accesses

  • The stringent performance requirement for the high efficiency of routing protocols on the Internet can be satisfied by exploiting the threaded border gateway protocol (TBGP) on multi-cores, but the state-of-the-art TBGP performance is restricted by a mass of contentions when racing to access the routing table. To this end, the highly-efficient parallel access approach appears to be a promising solution to achieve ultra-high route processing speed. This study proposes a general routing table structure consisting of two-level tries for fast parallel access, and it presents a heuristic-based divide-and-recombine algorithm to solve a mass of contentions, thereby accelerating the parallel route updates of multi-threading and boosting the TBGP performance. As a projected TBGP, this study also modifies the table operations such as insert and lookup, and validates their correctness according to the behaviors of the traditional routing table. Our evaluations on a dual quad-core Xeon server show that the parallel access contentions decrease sharply by 92.5% versus the traditional routing table, and the maximal update time of a thread is reduced by 56.8 % on average with little overhead. The convergence time of update messages are improved by 49.7%.

  • The use of the A' for the path search of the agent in the game map give the overhead of computing time in real time game processing. The other heuristic search algorithms do not guarantee the optical path. The route table of which the row is defined by current position, goal position, visiting position is presented in this paper. This route table is made in the game development phase and tilized in game playing. The visiting position which is contatined in the optimal path to the goal position from the current position can guarantee the optical path, and this mothod has no overhead on computing time. But the memory space is requred too much. This problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

A Novel Route Discovery Scheme Equipped with Two Augmented Functions for Ad Hoc Networks

  • 'The delay and control overhead during route discovery for destinations outside ad hoc networks are major obstacle to achieving scalability in the Internet. To solve this issue, we propose a novel route discovery scheme equipped with two augmented functions. In this paper, the Internet gateway maintains an address cache of Internet nodes frequently accessed from the ad hoc network and replies with an extended Route Response (RREP) message to the Route Request (RREQ) message based on its routing table and the address cache called EXIT(EXternal node Information Table). These augmented functions make the source node determine the location of the destination as fast as possible. Through simulations, the proposed route discovery scheme using both EXIT and extended RREP message shows considerable' reduction in both route discovery time and control message overhead.

Modeling of the Route Choice Behavior (노선선택행태의 모형화)

  • The multinomial logit model has been applied for various choice problems. Among others, the joint destination mode choice, the mode choice and the route choice are the three major modeling topics for korean transportation planners. This paper examines with real world data (the Olympic road and its competing two major arterials) the usefulness of a Logit route choice model. Quites surpisingly, it is found that the multinomial route choice behavioral model calibrated for this study based on (0,1) individula data base can not provide a good estimate for O-D trips less than 6㎞. 400data points and 3case studies might not be sufficient for a sound conclusion. It is, however, believed from a series of similar studies conducted by the authors that the route choice behavior is more sensitive (more demand elastic with respect to travel time changes) than the mode choice and the shorter trip, the more sensitive. The travel time parameters for destination choice models are usually smalle than the travel time parameters for mode choice models and these parameters (for mode choice models) turn our smaller than the travel time parameters for route choice models from this study. Table 2 in this paper shows parameter changes for three different markets and Table 3 shows the modeling errors when the estimated individual probabilities are aggregated into a route level.

  • A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous, infrastructure-less system that consists of mobile nodes. In MANET, on demand routing protocols are usually used because network topology changes frequently. AODV, which is a representative on demand routing protocol, operates using the routing table of each node that includes next hop of a route for forwarding packets. It maintains the established route if there is not an expiration of route or any link break. In the paper, we propose a partially adaptive route maintenance scheme (AODV-PA) based on AODV, which provides dynamic route modification of initial route for selecting the effective route using not only next hop but also next-hop of next-hop (i.e. 2-hop next node) acquired through route discovery process. In addition, the proposed scheme additionally manages the routing table for preventing exceptional link breaks by route modification using HELLO messages. We use NS 2 for the computer simulation and validate that the proposed scheme is better than general AODV in terms of packet delivery ratio, latency, routing overhead.

  • We present a method for increasing network lifetime without link failure due to lack of battery capacity of nodes in wireless ad-hoc networks with low mobility. In general, a node with larger remaining battery capacity represents the one with lesser traffic load. Thus, a modified AODV routing protocol is proposed to determine a possible route by considering a remaining battery capacity of a node. Besides, the total energy consumption of all nodes increase rapidly due to the huge amount of control packets which should be flooded into the network. To reduce such control packets efficiently, a source node can store information about alternative routes to the destination node into its routing table. When a link failure happens, the source node should retrieve the route first with the largest amount of the total remaining battery capacity from its table entries before initiating the route rediscovery process. To do so, the possibility of generating unnecessary AODV control packets should be reduced. The method proposed in this paper increases the network lifetime by 40% at most compared with the legacy AODV and MMBCR.

  • In Mobile ad hoc networks, AODV is one of the famous on-demand routing protocol, which use the routing tables in the nodes if possible, or Route Discovery Process (RDP) is triggered to find a new route. However increasing the traffic of RDP causes dropping of the network performance in the large size of ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose a novel routing protocol, named as AOZDV (Ad hoc On-demand Zone and Distance-Vector Routing), which enhances the AODV protocol with zone routing. AOZDV creates a Zone with neighbor nodes of the source/destination using traffic and power information, and utilizes Destination-Vector Table for internal routing in the Zone. We show by simulations that AOZDV can reduce the occurrence rate of route fail and RDP caused by route fail compared to existing routing protocols such as DSR and AODV.
