For the purpose of sweet potato varietal improvement, yulmi, shinyulmi, gunmi, hongmi, and seonmi, whose source and sink are different, were cultivated at different planting densities, and then defoliation at initial stage of tuberous root weight increase on the relation of source and sink was observed as follows. The response of stem and leaf and tuberous root weight by planting density and defoliation rate of sweet potato varieties was different. Stem and leaf weight per m$^2$ increased along with dense planting by the following order; shinyulmi> seonmi> hongmi> gunmi> yulmi. Tuberous root number per m$^2$ was the most at 75$\times$20cm planting density, showing seonmi the most number. The number of stem and leaf and tuberous root increased along with the lowered rate of defoliation. In case of 75$\times$10cm and 75$\times$20cm planting density, tuberous root weight increased by increase of stem and leaf weight up to 50% defoliation and the difference of stem and leaf and tuberous root number was low as defoliation rate increases. The tuberous root and total dry weight matter was the most at 75$\times$20cm planting density. The increase and decrease of source synchronized with those of sink at 75$\times$10cm and 75$\times$20cm, however the relationship occurred less at 75$\times$30cm.

The pseudomedian filter was designed to be a computationally effecient alternative to the median filter. However, a thorough analysis ofter pseudomedian filter reveals some important differences between its response and that of the median filter. This paper develops some formal properties of the pseudomedian filter. The root signal analysis demonstrates the close relatonship between the median and pseudomedian filters while pointing out important and useful differences.

The characteristics of tip vortex within a blade tip region were examined experimentally in various flow coefficients by the way of changing tip clearance and blade stagger angle in an axial Low Speed Research Compressor(LSRC). The objective was to identify the unsteady pressure distribution in the blade passage by ensemble average technique acquired from high-frequency response pressure transducers and the tip vortex by root mean square value(RMS value). Data were reduced statistically using phase-lock technique for detailed pressure distributions.

An approach to irrigation scheduling for chinese caggage is presented, and a crop yield response function to soil moisure is derived from irrigation experiments, based on a root- zone water balance method. The paper concludes that crop yield can be estimated by allowable depletion and actual evapotranspiration in 3 cropping stages, and presents the optimal allowalbe depletion, irriga- tion frequency and the amount of irrigation water to get the maximum crop yield and opti- mal irrigation policy.

Nicotine is most familiar to us as a principal pharmacologically active component of cigarettes. This alkaloid is synthesized in the root in response to insect damage and then transported to the aerial parts of tobacco plants. Here I overview enzymes and genes involved in nicotine biosynthesis, and regulatory mechanisms of gene expression involving the NIC regulatory loci and jasmonic acid.

A design of aeroload simulator is proposed which is used for the dynamic test of guided missile servoactuation system. Since the simulator is linked to the servoactuation system, it is a two-input one-output system. The mathematical model of the aeroload simulator is derived and the root-locus method is applied to design compensator to improve the stability, response speed and accuracy of the system. Computer simulations are done to verify the goodness of the system design.

Generally, the digital controller has many advantages such as high precision, robustness to electrical noise, capability of flexible programming and fast response to the load variation. In this study, we have established proper mathematical equivalent model of Brushless DC (BLDC) motor and estimated the motor parameter by means of the back-emf measurement as being the step input to the controlled target BLDC motor. And the validity of proposed estimation method is confirmed by the test result of step response. As well, we have designed the reasonable digital controller as a consequence of the root locus method which is obtained from the open-loop transfer function of BLDC motor with hall sensor, and the determination of control gain for variable speed control. Here, revised Ziegler-Nichols tuning method is applied for the proper digital gain establishment, and the system stability is verified by the frequency domain analysis with Bode-plot and experimentation.

The purpose of this study is to estimate and analyse the relationship between Chinese price and the price of Korea, United States, and Japan. First of all, We test for a unit-root for stability of variable. This paper employs GPH cointegration test since the model must be stationary to get the accurate predicted values. The empirical results show that the model is mean-reverting. This paper also applies impulse-response functions to the model. The empirical results show that the price of Korea, United States, and Japan respond positively to the shocks in Chinese price and then decay slowly.
