국내에 분포하는 암반의 물리·역학적 특성 분석 (Analysis on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Rock Mass in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내의 107개 터널 설계 과정에서 수행한 현장 및 실내시험 자료 4,280개를 이용하여 암반 및 무결암의 역학적 특성을 암종 및 강도별로 분석하였다. 분석된 물리 및 역학적 특성은 단위중량, 점착력, 내부마찰각, 변형계수, 탄성계수, 포아송비, 일축압축강도, 인장강도, 투수계수, 비중이다. 평균값의 분석 결과에 의하면 편마암은 비중, 화강암은 투수계수, 퇴적암은 단위중량과 점착력, 내부마찰각, 화산암은 변형계수와 탄성계수, 일축압축강도, 인장강도, 변성암은 포아송비에서 가장 높은 값을 보인다. 역학적 특성의 분포 범위는 암종 및 강도를 고려한 분석에도 불구하고 넓게 분포하며, 이는 암반의 불균질성과 이방성에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

Incompatible deformation and damage evolution of mixed strata specimens containing a circular hole

  • Analysing the incompatible deformation and damage evolution around the tunnels in mixed strata is significant for evaluating the tunnel stability, as well as the interaction between the support system and the surrounding rock mass. To investigate this issue, confined compression tests were conducted on upper-soft and lower-hard strata specimens containing a circular hole using a rock testing system, the physical mechanical properties were then investigated. Then, the incompatible deformation and failure modes of the specimens were analysed based on the digital speckle correlation method (DSCM) and Acoustic Emission (AE) data. Finally, numerical simulations were conducted to explore the damage evolution of the mixed strata. The results indicate that at low inclination angles, the deformation and v-shaped notches inside the hole are controlled by the structure plane. Progressive spalling failure occurs at the sidewalls along the structure plane in soft rock. But the transmission of the loading force between the soft rock and hard rock are different in local. At high inclination angles, v-shaped notches are approximately perpendicular to the structure plane, and the soft and hard rock bear common loads. Incompatible deformation between the soft rock and hard rock controls the failure process. At inclination angles of 0°, 30° and 90°, incompatible deformations are closely related to rock damage. At 60°, incompatible deformations and rock damage are discordant due that the soft rock and hard rock alternately bears the major loads during the failure process. The failure trend and modes of the numerical results agree very well with those observed in the experimental results. As the inclination angles increase, the proportion of the shear or tensile damage exhibits a nonlinear increase or decrease, suggesting that the inclination angle of mixed strata may promote shear damage and restrain tensile damage.

터널 내공변위의 이론과 계측결과의 분석 (Theory and Analysis Method of Tunnel Convergence)

  • Convergence measurements play very important role in the assessment of stability of a tunnel and of the economics of rock reinforcements. The characteristics of convergences are both due to the face advance effect and the time-dependent behaviour of rocks. As the convergence law can be modeled as a specific function of two variables of distance and time, we can determine the type of function and the related parameters from the field measurements. By using the regression method based on the Levengberg-Marquardt algorithm, an analysis of convergence of two different tunnels and one numerical example is described. It is shown that the convergence can be modeled as following function, C(x)=a{1-exp(-bx)} or C(t)=a{1-exp(-bt)} in case of a tunnel excavated in elastic rocks, in case of elasto-plastic or over stressed rocks.

  • 록볼트의 작용효과는 지반이 굴착되어 안정화되는 초기 1달간이 가장 중요하고 품질관리 문제는 지반조건에 따라 부식에 대한 문제가 있으나, 기존의 전면접착형 록볼트의 경우도 작업여건상 그 확실성은 떨어지는 것이 현실이다. 또한 작업이 시간소모가 크고, 볼트의 지지효과도 충진재가 고결되어야 발효되는 약점을 갖고 있어, 일본, 말레이시아, 유럽 등에서 전면 마찰형 즉시 지보기능이 가능한 Swellex Bolt를 영구지보재로 사용하고 있는 경향이 있다. 기존의 전면 접착형 SN Bolt(이형철근)로써 Grouting 몰탈볼트와 Cem Bolt로 설계된 장대·대단면 도로터널 지보재를 현대식 Swellex Bolt로 대체 설계변경이 가능한 것인지에 대하여 볼트의 지지력 시험(Pullout Test), 볼트재질의 내구성 연구 및 설계변경에 따른 수치해석 등을 실시하여, 볼트로써 지지력을 확인하고, 재질의 안전성을 조사한 후 시공 사이클 타임을 줄이며, 견고하고 시공성이 우수한 Swellex Bolt로의 설계변경을 제안하게 되었다.

터널의 안전율 평가 시 지보재 파괴 고려 방안 연구 (A Methodolody of Considering the Failure of Supports in Evaluating Tunnel Safety Factors)

  • The safety factor of a tunnel considering the failure of supports is important because the failure of supports might cause the collapse of the tunnel. In the previous studies, shotcrete was modelled as beam elements and the failure of the shotcrete was checked according to the allowable working stress concept. In this study, shotcrete was modelled by both beam elements and continuum (elasto-plastic) elements. Safety factors of tunnels were estimated by two dimensional numerical analysis with varying rock mass class, coefficient of lateral pressure, thickness of shotcrete, rock bolt reinforcement and excavation method. Also the study suggested not only a proper amount of supports but also modelling method.

  • 현재 정부는 사회간접자본 확충을 통한 물류비용의 절감이라는 궁극적 목표를 위하여 도로터널의 확충 노력을 적극 경주하고 있으며 터널의 규모 또한 급격히 장대화 하고 있다. 또한 환경 및 안전 측면에서의 규제 강화로 인하여 터널환기 시스템이 점점 복잡해져 가고 있는 추세이다. 환기관련 주요 설비는 제트팬, 축류팬, 집진기, 수갱 등으로 대형화 및 자동화에 따라 운영비용 역시 급격히 증가하고 있으며 운영비용 중의 대부분은 현재 일반전기로 분류되어 있는 환기설비에 소요되는 전력비로, 장대터널의 경우 km 당 1 MW를 훨씬 초과하는 경우도 많아 SOC(사회간접자본)사업으로 추진되는 도로터널의 건설 및 운영상의 문제점으로 지적되고 있다.   • Although a dry-system tunnel is not good for reasons fo economy and construction, it has been applied to some tunnels under construction owing to the advantages of good long-term maintenance of tunnel, prevention of consolidation settlement due to the drawdown of groundwater, preservation of the ecosystem, cutailment of operation cost, and so on. The stability of groundwater and the change of the applied water pressure after water proofing were analysed by the finite element method. Using this result, an example of designing the secondary lining for the dry-system tunnel which is to be constructed in low-permeability hard rock was presented.

Effects of parallel undercrossing shield tunnels on river embankment: Field monitoring and numerical analysis

  • As the intensity of urban underground space development increases, more and more tunnels are planned and constructed, and sometimes it is inevitable to encounter situations where tunnels have to underpass the river embankments. Most previous studies involved tunnels passing river embankments perpendicularly or with large intersection angle. In this study, a project case where two EPB shield tunnels with 8.82 m diameter run parallelly underneath a river embankment was reported. The parallel length is 380 m and tunnel were mainly buried in the moderate / slightly weathered clastic rock layer. The field monitoring result was presented and discussed. Three-dimensional back-analysis were then carried out to gain a better understanding the interaction mechanisms between shield tunnel and embankment and further to predict the ultimate settlement of embankment due to twin-tunnel excavation. Parametrical studies considering effect of tunnel face pressure, tail grouting pressure and volume loss were also conducted. The measured embankment settlement after the single tunnel excavation was 4.53 mm ~ 7.43 mm. Neither new crack on the pavement or cavity under the roadbed was observed. It is found that the more degree of weathering of the rock around the tunnel, the greater the embankment settlement and wider the settlement trough. Besides, the latter tunnel excavation might cause larger deformation than the former tunnel excavation if the mobilized plastic zone overlapped. With given geometry and stratigraphic condition in this study, the safety or serviceability of the river embankment would hardly be affected since the ultimate settlement of the embankment after the twin-tunnel excavation is within the allowable limit. Reasonable tunnel face pressure and tail grouting pressure can to some extent suppress the settlement of the embankment. The recommended tunnel face pressure and tail grouting pressure are 300 kPa and 550 kPa in this study, respectively. However, the volume loss plays the crucial role in the tunnel-embankment interaction. Controlling and compensating the tunneling induced volume loss is the most effective measure for river embankment protection. Additionally, reinforcing the embankment with cement mixing pile in advance is an alternative option in case the predicted settlement exceeds allowable limit.

현지암반 초기지압의 분포특성 및 암반터널설계에의 적용 (Characteristics of in situ stress regime measured by hydraulic fracturing technique and its application on tunnel design)

  • A rock mass is usually classified by the results of geological survey and laboratory tests on rock specimens in order to obtain the adequate properties for the numerical analysis. For these purposes a rock mass strength is estimated based on the empirical criterion proposed by Hoek and Brown and a modulus of deformation is taken with the empirical relations developed by Bieniawski, Serafim and Pereira. In addition, the $K_o$ value which is the ratio of the horizontal stress to the vertical stress is one of the most important input data in the numerical analysis. Its role on a tunnel stability analysis could be verified with the numerical results taken by a finite difference code or a distinct element code. However, a deduced value used to be applied for the $K_o$ value in most of tunnel designs, even though the patterns of stress tensor are variable with regions and depths. Thus in situ stresses were measured by a hydraulic fracturing technique on several tunnel sites and applied directly to the tunnel design for the enhancement of its precision. With those informations on in situ stresses, the safe design should be obtained economically on the road or subway tunnels.

TBM 굴진자료의 다변량 회귀분석에 의한 암반대응형 TBM의 설계모델 도출 (Rock TBM design model derived from the multi-variate regression analysis of TBM driving data)

  • 본 연구에서는 암반대응형 TBM의 소요 사양 산출과 커터헤드 설계를 위한 통계모델을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 다양한 암반 조건에서 수집된 871개의 TBM 굴진자료와 51개의 암석 선형절삭시험 결과에 대해 다변량 회귀분석을 실시하여, 다양한 암석 특성과 절삭 조건을 고려한 최적 모델을 도출하였다. 회귀분석을 통해 도출된 설계모델들을 2개의 쉴드터널 현장에 적용한 결과, 커터 관입깊이, 커터 작용력 및 커터 간격과 같은 TBM 핵심 설계항목의 예측결과들이 실제 현장의 굴진결과와 잘 부합되는 것으로 나타났다.
