제설제 사용으로 인한 노면 미끄럼저항 특성 연구 (A Study of Skid Resistance Characteristics by Deicing Chemicals)

  • 미끄럼 저항은 타이어와 도로노면의 마찰저항을 나타내는 지수로 차량의 주행 안전성에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 타이어의 상태, 노면의 마모도, 주행속도, 노면의 건조, 습윤, 결빙 등에 따라 미끄럼저항의 크기는 달라진다. 특히 겨울철 도로노면의 경우 강설 후 기온강하에 도로포장표면이 결빙이 발생할 경우 미끄럼저항이 급격히 저하되며, 미끄럼저항을 회복하고자 제설 작업을 수행하게 된다. 제설작업 후에는 습윤상태로 노면조건이 바뀌게 되는데, 제설제가 노면에 잔류하게 되면 일반적인 습윤상태에서의 미끄럼저항을 확보치 못할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 포장도로의 대다수를 차지하는 밀입도 아스팔트와 타이닝 콘크리트 포장노면에 대하여 실험실 조건에서 노면 결빙시, 제설중 제설후 잔류물이 노면에 있을 경우의 조건에서의 미끄럼저항을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 연구 결과 노면 결빙시 미끄럼저항 회복시간은 수용액 살포방법이 고체염 살포방법 보다 빠르며 제설제 중에는 소금이 가장 빠르게 나타났다. 노면에 잔류한 제설제는 콘크리트 시편이 아스팔트 시편보다 미끄럼저항 값이 높게 나타났으며 습윤 노면 상태와 비교시 미끄럼저항 확보율은 54~80% 이다.

Soil displacement from frost heave on forest road cut-slopes

  • The frost heave process from repeated freezing and thawing actions in winter on forest road cut-slopes is important for forest road maintenance and management. This study investigated the damages of the forest heave process on forest road cut-slopes by measuring the changes in the road-cut surface elevation and sediment production and by conducting vegetation surveys which were aimed at providing information for forest road maintenance plans. The temperature and humidity differences were determined between the north and south cut-slopes. T-test showed that the north slope had a lower temperature and humidity than that of the south slope. Field observations also confirmed frozen soils on the north slopes, indicating that the north slopes are susceptible to frost heave. Sediment was converted to dry weight per unit area ($g/m^2$). T-test showed that the north slope produced more sediment than that of the south slope. The study confirmed that more frost heave occurred on the north cut-slopes than on the south cut-slopes. Vegetation surveys were conducted on five cut-slope plots. Considering the dominant species found above the cut-slopes, vegetations in all the plots are expected to succeed to pine and oak in the future. The dominant species appearing on the cut-slopes of the study area were exotic species because the elapsed time of the site was only 2 - 4 years.

하천 및 녹지와 온도의 관계에 대한 기초적 연구 - 청계천 복원을 중심으로 - (A Fundamental Study on the Relationship Between Riparian Vegetation and Surface Temperature - Focused on Cheonggaecheon Stream Restoration -)

  • Human beings have pursued development and economic betterment; thus, enhancing convenience and prosperity. A flourish of human civilization upon the industrialization results a massive urbanization. However, human beings have connived the environmental importance in the course of rapid urbanization. The environmental quality now becomes one of the most important factors that determine the quality of life in a city. Many studies were proceeded about the heat island effect in large cities. In general, most studies have been done to investigate urban microclimate phenomena using meteorological network or AWS (automatic weather station) data. Those preceding studies do not seem to sufficiently reflect the and thus, failed to show regional representative. In this study, temporal Landsat TM satellite imageries of May 20, 1987 and May 21, 1999 were 뻐d in order to detect the surface temperature of the study area using the band 6 ($10.4{\mu}m{\sim}12.5{\mu}m$). The surface temperature distribution detected by the band 6 of Landsat TM was over layed with the land cover classification data in order to investigate the temperature difference of the paved road and the riparian areas of the stream. As a result, a surface temperature difference as much as $3^{\circ}C$ between the paved road and the riparian areas with vegetation was observed. This study concludes that the land cover change is one of the main causes of urban heat island effect which may be closely affected by the paved areas and roads. Besides, the change of the atmospheric temperature followed by the urban secular change could have been confirmed. In the case of Yangjaecheon stream which underwent a heavy environmental restoration in 1995, the temperature was decreased as much as $0.6^{\circ}C$ after the restoration. The results of this study is expected to contribute to develop an urban space in harmony with the healthy human life and the environment respecting the crucial role of vegetation to stabilize the urban environmental dynamics.

MTV를 적용한 아스팔트 포설에서 열분리 저감 효과 (Effect of Thermal Segregation Reduction in Asphalt Paving with MTV)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate of the effect of thermal segregation reduction in asphalt paving using material transfer vehicles (MTVs). METHODS : Asphalt paving using MTVs was carried out, and the paved surface temperature was measured using an infrared camera. The amount of thermal segregation was estimated from temperature variations. RESULTS : The transportation of hot mix asphalt (HMA) using dump trucks caused temperature segregation that persisted in the paving surface if an MTV was not used. The average temperature variation was 8.58% in paved surfaces where an MTV was not used. However, the temperature variation was 3.10%, 2.86%, and 4.53% for the base layer, inter-layer, and surface layer, respectively, when an MTV was used. CONCLUSIONS : The use of an MTV in asphalt paving reduces thermal segregation approximately 2.3 times in an asphalt mat via a remixing process and also allows for a smoother work process because the paver never needs to stop to receive HMA. However, MTV equipment without pre-heating devices requires careful temperature control during the warm up process at the MTV during construction in the winter.

아스팔트 도로포장에 물순환 파이프 시스템을 이용한 표면온도저감에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Surface Temperature Reduction Using Pipe Cooling System in Asphalt Pavement)

  • PURPOSES: The purpose of asphalt pavement reducing surface temperature by using Pipe cooling system is to make pleasant city life environment. METHODS: We considered building condition to lay the pipes under asphalt pavement and figured out that temperature reducing effect with pipe cooling system. In addition, we guessed rutting through wheel tracking test with a laid the pipes under asphalt mixture and performed fatigue cracking through a flexural fatigue test for performance evaluation of pipe cooling system. RESULTS: When pipe cooling system worked, the temperature of pavement model reduced quickly in test. The system can turn down the degree by 4 or 5 quickly as well. It didn't affect rutting to lay the pipes under the pavement, but it can get damaged to asphalt pavement in early stage by the result of performance evaluation. CONCLUSIONS: We figured out that pipe cooling system can turn down the temperature of aspalt pavement surface through tests. We suggest that pipe cooling system should be considered one of the effective way to solve urban heat island problem.

국내 현장중온재생공법의 프리히터 개발을 위한 기초연구 (Fundamental Study for Development of Pre-Heater for Warm In-Place Recycling in Korea)

  • PURPOSES : To design a pre-heater for warm in-place recycling equipment, three different heating systems were evaluated to determine their thermal efficiency. METHODS: In this study, a $30cm{\times}30cm{\times}15cm$ wheel-tracking specimen was used to measure the inner temperature as a function of the heating system. The inner temperature of the specimen was measured with a data logger at the surface, and at depths of 1cm, 2cm, 3cm, 4cm, and 5cm. To evaluate the thermal efficiency, the researchers used three different types of equipment, namely, IR, a heating wire, and a gas burner. RESULTS: The IR heating system exhibits a higher level of performance than the others to achieve the target temperature at a depth of 5cm in the specimen. The gas burner system was capable of heating the surface to a temperature of up to $600^{\circ}C$. The other types, however, cannot heat the surface up to 600. The thermal efficiencies were measured based on the laboratory conditions. CONCLUSIONS: To find the most effective system for application to the development of a pre-heater for warm in-place recycling, various systems (IR, heating wire, gas burner) were examined in the laboratory. As a result, it was found that the hot plate of a gas burner system provides the highest temperature at the surface of the asphalt but, of all the systems, the IR system provides the best internal temperature increase rate. Furthermore, a gas burner can age the asphalt binder of the surface layer as a result of the high temperature. However, the gas burner cannot attain the target temperature at 5cm. The IR system, on the other hand, is effective at increasing the internal temperature of asphalt.

신설국도의 시험시공을 통한 표층용 개질 아스팔트 공용성 평가 (Evaluation of Performance and Construction the New National Test Road Sites of Modified Asphalt)

  • 국내 아스팔트 포장은 중차량 교통량의 증가와 겨울철 및 여름철의 온도차이가 크게나는 환경조건하에서 공용되고 있다. 이러한 요인으로 인하여 포장 조기파손의 대부분인 소성변형의 문제점이 심각하며, 이에 대한 개선책으로 개질 아스팔트의 적용에 대한 연구들이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 대부분의 개질 아스팔트의 사용이 표층을 절삭하고 택코팅후 시공되고 있으며, 신설도로의 포장이 아닌 유지보수에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 부산지방국토관리청 산하의 신설국도의 도로포장현장에 개질 아스팔트 혼합물이 적용된 기층 위에 표층용 개질 아스팔트인 SBS PMA 혼합물과 PSMA 혼합물에 대하여 2차로로 200m를 시험 시공하였으며. 나머지 구간은 일반밀입도 아스팔트 혼합물로 시공하였으며, 시공에 사용된 재료에 대한 실내시험을 통한 공용성 및 장기 공용성 평가를 실시하고자 하였다. 실내 실험은 마샬안정도시험, 강도시험과 휠트랙킹 시험을 하여 분석하였으며, 현장의 시험 시공시 온도관리 및 평탄성에 대한 평가를 기초로 향후 장기 공용성 평가와 LCC 분석을 실시하여 가장 경제적인 개질 아스팔트를 평가하여 설계에 반영하고자 한다.

도로 포장 기술 개선에 따른 대기 경계층의 열 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of an Improved Road Pavement Technology on the Thermal Structure of Atmospheric Boundary Layer)

  • In order to clarify the impact of anti-heat insulation pavement on the thermal structure of atmospheric boundary layer, field experiments and numerical simulations were carried out. Field experiment with various pavements were also conducted for 24 hours from 09LST 19 June 2007. And numerical experiment mainly focused on the impact of albedo variation, which is strongly associated with thermal characteristics of insulated pavement materials, on the temporal variation of planterly boundary layer. Numerical model used in this study is one dimension model with Planterly Boundary Layer developed by Oregon State University (OSUPBL). Because anti-heat insulation pavement material shows higher albedo value, not only maximum surface temperature but also maximum surface air temperature on anti-heat insulation pavement is lower than that on asphalt. The maximum value of surface temperature only reach on $49.5^{\circ}C$. As results of numerical simulations, surface sensible heat flux and the height of mixing layer are also influenced by the values of albedo. Therefore the characteristics of urban surface material and its impact on atmosphere should be clarified before the urban planning including improvement of urban heat environment and air quality.

도시 지표면 온도분포 특성 및 열섬완화방안 (A Study on the Distribution Characteristic of Urban Surface Temperature and Urban Heat Island Effects)

  • The purpose of this research was to three-criteria landuse-pattern, developing density, NDVI which were related to the heat island and find the distribution characteristic of urban surface temperature and urban heat island effects. The results of this study were as follows. According to the analysis of surface temperatures, the first grade was the outside-city like a mountain and its temperature was less than $12.18^{\circ}C$. The fifth grade was the downtown industrial area and its temperature was more than $23.54^{\circ}C$. It means Daegu-Metropolitan-City has the serious heat-island effect. the results of landuse pattern analysis, in case of fifth and forth grade, city area was occupied over 90% with residential, commercial and industrial areas, but in case of third grade, openspace was occupied over 70%. The results of developing density analysis, the temperature had high correlation with building ratio, road ratio, vegetation ratio and etc. To plan for the decrease of heat island effect needed the extension of green space, decrease of paving, but there was a limit to get the objective method for grade classification because of lacking in the basic data, the research of criteria will be accomplished continuously.

콘크리트 도로 포장의 초기 온도 분포 분석 (Temperature Patterns in Concrete Pavements at Very Early Ages)

  • 포틀랜드 시멘트 콘크리트 도로 포장의 온도 패턴을 콘크리트 타설시부터 최근에 개발된 저렴하며 획기적인 센서를 이용하여 측정하였으며 그 결과를 분석하였다. 콘크리트 포장의 온도 측정은 여러 다른 지역에서 여러 다른 두께를 가진 콘크리트 포장에서 수행하였다. 콘크리트 포장의 온도 패턴은 깊이방향과 콘크리트 타설시간에 따른 종방향의 변화를 고려하여 분석하였으며, 포장 표면의 반사율, 그늘, 덮음막 등이 콘크리트 포장의 온도 패턴에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과에서 콘크리트를 타설한 날의 콘크리트 포장의 최고 온도는 종방향을 따라 타설 시간이 다름으로 인해 생기는 차이가 두드러지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 콘크리트의 영점응력온도(zero-stress temperature)는 타설한 날의 최고 온도와 직접적인 연관이 있으므로 타설 시간에 따른 최고 온도의 차이는 콘크리트 포장의 거동 및 성능에 크게 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 또한 콘크리트 포장의 표면 상태 (표면 색상, 그늘 유무, 덮음막 유무 등)도 콘크리트 포장의 온도 패턴에 큰 영향을 미치는 인자인 것으로 분석되었다.
