Acquisition of information on failure slope, which may cause apprehension of second hand damage, requires acquisition of fast and accurate topographical data and efficient expression in indirect surveying method without accessing as needed. Therefore, in this study, the images on the intended area were photographed through hovering in the air by approaching collapsed road cut slope with the use of unmanned helicopter photography system. As a result of comparing the points observed by no prism total station and the 10 coordinate points analyzed through image analysis, the averages of absolute values were shown to be 0.056m in X axis direction, 0.082m in Y axis direction and 0.066m Z axis direction. In addition, the RMSE of the error for 10 points of test points were 0.015636m in X axis direction, 0.021319m in Y axis direction and 0.018734m in Z axis direction. Therefore, this method can determine the range of slope and longitudinal and cross sections of each slope in dangerous area that cannot be approached in relational image matching method for the terrains of such collapsed cut slope.

A vehicle tracking system makes it possible to induce the vehicle movement path for avoiding traffic congestion and to prevent traffic accidents in advance by recognizing traffic flow, monitoring vehicles, and detecting road accidents. To track the vehicles effectively, those which appear in a sequence of video frames need to identified by extracting the features of each object in the frames. Next, the identical vehicles over the continuous frames need to be recognized through the matching among the objects' feature values. In this paper, we identify objects by binarizing the difference image between a target and a referential image, and the labelling technique. As feature values, we use the center coordinate of the minimum bounding rectangle(MBR) of the identified object and the averages of 1D FFT(fast Fourier transform) coefficients with respect to the horizontal and vertical direction of the MBR. A vehicle is tracked in such a way that the pair of objects that have the highest similarity among objects in two continuous images are regarded as an identical object. The experimental result shows that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods that use geometrical features in tracking accuracy.
The research for extracting man-made features such as building and road from the aerial photograph or satellite imagery has been performed actively. As lately the resolution of digital aerial photographs was improved, unwanted features(noise) would be often detected. An edge detection algorithm is developed to make up for such a noise problem, make boundaries of wanted objects clear and extract only needed features. The algorithm developed in this research performs separating RGB channels, differencing between channels, transforming in to binary images, excluding noises and restoring shapes, and edge extraction in order. The images to be used for edge detection are prepared through bundle adjustment, DTM extraction, orthorectification and mosaicking. The roof edges of small building on preprocessed digital aerial orthophotos were extracted using the algorithm developed in this study. The validity of the algorithms was proved by comparing edge results of small building extracted in this study with those of conventional methods.

Current techniques for road-traffic monitoring rely on sensors which have limited capabilities, are costly and disruptive to install. The use of video cameras coupled with computer vision techniques offers an attractive alternative to current sensors. Video based traffic monitoring systems are now being considered key points of advanced traffic management systems. In this paper, we propose the new method which extract the traffic information using video camera. The proposed method uses an adaptive updating scheme for background in order to reduce the false alarm rate due to various noises in images. also, the proposed extraction method of traffic information calculates the traffic volume ratio of vehicles passing through predefined detection area, which is defined by the length of profile occupied by cars over that of overall detection area. Then the ratio is used to define 8 different states of traffic and to interpret the state of vehicle flows. The proposed method is verified by an experiment using CCTV traffic data from urban area.

PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to ascertain the curing period of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer, using mechanical analyses and specimen quality tests on the field. METHODS : Cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer mixture was produced in the plant from reclaimed asphalt, natural aggregate, filler for the cold mix, and the modified emulsion AP using asphalt mix design and plant mix design. In order to examine the applicability of the curing period during the field test, the international standards for the possibility of core extraction and the degree of compaction and LFWD deflection were analyzed. Moreover, Marshall stability test, porosity test, and indirect tensile strength test were performed on the specimens of asphalt mix and plant mix design. RESULTS : The plant production process and compaction method of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer were established, and the applicability of the optical moisture content for producing the mixture was verified through the field test. In addition, it was determined that the core extraction method of the conventional international curing standard was insufficient to ensure performance, and the LFWD test demonstrated that the deflection converges after a two-day curing. However, the back-calculation analysis reveals that a three-day curing is satisfactory, resulting in a general level of performance of dense asphalt base-layer. Moreover, from the result of the specimen quality test of the asphalt mix design and plant mix design according to the curing period, it was determined that the qualities satisfied both domestic and international standards, after a two-day curing. However, it was determined that the strength and stiffness after three-day curing are higher than those after a two-day curing by approximately 3.5 % and 20 %, respectively. CONCLUSIONS:A three-day curing period is proposed for the cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer; this curing period can be demonstrated to retain the modulus of asphalt-base layer in the field and ensure stable quality characteristics.
Gully pot is a part of urban darainage system to butter the runoff water fluxes from road to rivers and to minimize environmental pollution by prevending over the surrounding area. A series of studies have been carried out concerning the physicochemical characteristics of the sewage sludge sediments sttling down in such a gully pot in order to over to evaluate the contamination for heavy metals such as pb, Zn, Cu and Cd. The roadside soil and sewage sludge samples from gully pots were characterized by XRD analyses and sequential extraction : Zn 2595.7$\mu$g/g; Cd9.8$\mu$/g; Cu602.5$\mu$g/g; Pb260.0$\mu$g/g),because of a long-term accumulation of vehicle- and industrial-related pollutants. Mean Zn concentration in Yeouido (3873$\mu$g/g) and Junggu(3262$\mu$g/g)areas are 4-5 times higher than those in Dobonggu area, suggesting that Zn may be derived from automobile traffic (including the rubber of automobile tires). The mean concentrations of Cu and Cr are very significantly high in Junggu and Gurogu areas, possibly due to the industrial activities in these areas. The low Pb levels throughtotut the whole study areas in Seoul can be accounted for the use of unleaded gasoline since 1987. Sequential extraction experiments illustrate that a major part of Zn is bound to FII and FIII, representing about 88% of the total Zn concentration. Fraction IV, related to orgnic matter, is mostly significant for Cu accounting for 60% of the total Cu, and FII is next in importance. The main carriers of Pb are the fractions III, II and FIV, and in that order. The behavior of Cd is quite different from other elements (Zn, Cu, Pb), and most of the Cd is associated with FV. Changes in the physicochemical environments (such as acidification) may result in severe environmental pollution of surface water and rivers with respect to heavy metals (especially Zn and Cu).

The most important device of the AGV is the guide sensor, and the typical function of this sensor is high accuracy and extraction of the road. If the accuracy of the guide sensor is low or the sensor device is extracted the wrong track, this causes the problems such as the AGV collision, track-out, the load falling due to AGV swing. In order to improve these problems, this study is proposed a signal processing method of the guide sensor based on multi-maskings and the center of gravity method, and evaluated its performance. As a result, the proposed method showed that the mean error of absolute value is 2.32[mm] and it showed performance improvement of 27[%] than the center of gravity method of existence. Therefore, when the proposed signal processing method is applied, It is thought that the posture control and driving stability of the AGV will be improved.
Self-driving vehicles are increasing as new alternatives to solving problems such as human safety, environment and aging. And such technology development has a great ripple effect on other industries. However, various problems are occurring. The number of casualties caused by self-driving is increasing. Although the collision of fixed obstacles is somewhat decreasing, on the contrary, the technology by active obstacles is still insignificant. Therefore, in this study, in order to solve the core problem of self-driving vehicles, we propose a method of extracting active obstacles on the road. First, a center scene is extracted from a continuous image. In addition, it was proposed to extract activity obstacles using activity size and activity repeatability information from objects included in the center scene. The center scene is calculated using region segmentation and merging. Based on these results, the size of the frequency for each pixel in the region was calculated and the size of the activity of the obstacle was calculated using information that frequently appears in activity. Compared to the results extracted directly by humans, the extraction accuracy was somewhat lower, but satisfactory results were obtained. Therefore, it is believed that the proposed method will contribute to solving the problems of self-driving and reducing human accidents.

PURPOSES : This study determined the optimal usage rate of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) using cold central-plant recycling (CCPR) on a road-surface layer. In addition, a mixture-aggregate gradation design and a curing method based on the proposed rate for the surface-layer mix design were proposed. METHODS : First, current research trends were investigated by analyzing the optimum moisture content, mix design, and quality standards for surface layers in Korea and abroad. To analyze the aggregate characteristics of the RAP, its aggregate-size characteristics were analyzed through the combustion asphalt content test and the aggregate sieve analysis test. Moreover, aggregate-segregation experiments were performed to examine the possibility of RAP aggregate segregation from field compaction and vehicle traffic. After confirming the RAP quality standards, coarse aggregate and fine aggregate, aggregate-gradation design and quality tests were conducted for mixtures with 40% and 50% RAP usage. The optimum moisture content of the surface-layer mixture containing RAP was tested, as was the evapotranspiration effect on the surface-layer mixture of the optimum moisture content. RESULTS : After analyzing the RAP recycled aggregate size and extraction aggregate size, 13-8mm aggregate was found to be mostly 8mm aggregate after combustion. After using surface-chipping and mixing methods to examine the possibility of RAP aggregate segregation, it was found that the mixing method contributed very little for 3.32%, and because the surface-chipping method applied compaction energy directly as the maximum assumption the separation ratio was 15.46%. However, the composite aggregate gradation did not change. Using a 40% RAP aggregate rate on the surface-layer mixture for cold central-plant recycling satisfied the Abroad quality standard. The optimum moisture content of the surface-layer mixture was found to be 7.9% using the modified Marshall compaction test. It was found that the mixture was over 90% cured after curing at $60^{\circ}C$ for two days. CONCLUSIONS : To use the cold central-plant recycling mixture on a road-surface layer, a mixture-aggregate gradation design was proposed as the RAP recycled aggregate size without considering aggregate segregation, and the RAP optimal usage rate was 40%. In addition, the modified Marshall compaction test was used to determine the optimum moisture content as a mix-design parameter, and the curing method was adapted using the method recommended by Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA).
