핀 휠 기반 거스 기어의 접촉 피로수명 평가 (Estimation of Contact Fatigue Life of a Girth Gear Based on Pinwheel)

  • Girth gears are applied in the mining, cement, and mineral processing industries and used in various types of horizontal mills, rotary dryers and kilns, and other heavy-gear ring applications. The large ring gears are normally fitted outside mills or kilns to provide the primary rotational drive. Recently, an external pinwheel gear set (e-PGS) was introduced to overcome manufacturing problems associated with girth gears. e-PGS is also suitable for low-speed, heavy-duty mechanical transmission and dusty and poor-lubrication conditions. This paper first presents a new profile modification of root relief for the e-PGS cam pinion. We then investigate load-stress factors to estimate the surface fatigue life by varying the shape design parameters. The results show that the contact fatigue life of an e-PGS can be extended significantly by increasing the profile shift coefficient. However, support bearing life of the pinwheel depends more on the contact force distribution than the profile shift coefficient.

Differential gear case와 피니언 샤프트 체결을 위한 핀 압입 장치설계 및 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Measurement of Pin Press-Fit Device for Fastening Differential Gear Case and Pinion Shaft)

  • The differential gear system is a device designed to distribute the driving force of both vehicle wheels and control the rotational speed when the vehicle turns on a curve. The differential device consists of a differential gear case, a ring gear, and a pressure ring. A differential pinion gear and side gear are mounted on the differential pinion shaft inside the differential gear case. In this study, a pin press-fitting device that mounts the pinier gear and side gear to the differential pinion shaft in the differential gear case was designed, and a jig device for pin press-fitting using servo press was developed. In addition, by precisely measuring the pin press-in load and press-in distance according to the pin hole diameter of the differential gear shaft, the optimization of the pin pressin process was established.

발전기용 오스테나이트계 18Mn-18Cr 고질소강의 제조와 인장강도 예측 (Prediction of Tensile Strength of High-Nitrogen 18Mn-18Cr Austenitic Steels for Generator Retaining Ring)

  • Over the past few decades, high-nitrogen austenitic steels have steadily received greater attention since they provide a unique combination of high strength and ductility, good corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties. Recently, highnitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels with enhanced strength have been developed and widely used for generator retaining rings in order to prevent the copper wiring from being displaced by the centrifugal forces occurring during high-speed rotation. The high-nitrogen austenitic steels for generator retaining ring should be expanded at room temperature and then stress relief annealed at around $400^{\circ}C$ to achieve the required mechanical properties. In this study, four kinds of high-nitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels with different nitrogen content were fabricated by using a pressurized vacuum induction melting furnace, and then the effects of nitrogen content, cold working, and stress relieving on tensile properties were investigated. The yield and tensile strengths increased proportionally with increasing nitrogen content and cold working, and they further increased after stress relieving treatment. Based on these results, a semi-empirical equation was proposed to predict the tensile strength of highnitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels for generator retaining rings. It will be a useful for the effective fabrication of high-nitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels for generator retaining rings with the required tensile properties.

Characterization of Dexamethasone-eluting PLGA Films Coated on Capsular Tension Ring to Prevent Posterior Capsule Opacification

  • The objectives of this study were to prepare PLGA film onto the surface of the capsular tension ring (CTR) for controlled drug release and investigate the influence of plasticizers, the test drug and measurement conditions on flexibility of the film. Film solutions were prepared by dissolving PLGA, plasticizer (triethyl citrate, TEC or polyethylene glycol, PEG), test drug (dexamethasone) in ethyl acetate then films were prepared by spray coating and evaporation method. Then, the flexibility of PLGA film was determined by elongation test. The addition of plasticizer, PEG or TEC to PLGA copolymer caused a depression of glass transition temperature ($T_g$) and the elasticity of PLGA films increased. The addition of dexamethasone to the PLGA/TEC matrix decreased the flexibility of film. Dimensional factors of the PLGA films such as width and thickness were significantly influenced on flexibility of films and film length and elongation speed had no considerable influence on elongation of films. In this study, sufficiently flexible and stable PLGA films capable of being coated onto CTR could be prepared. This PLGA films can be used as a platform for local drug delivery.

  • 7톤급 터보펌프 실매질시험에서 계측된 고주파 신호인 가속도와 압력섭동에 대한 주파수 분석(waterfall, frequency spectrum), 실효값(RMS) 계산 등의 신호 처리를 통해 산화제펌프의 신뢰성을 평가하였다. 계측된 압력섭동 신호 분석을 통해 산화제펌프의 누설 유로에 위치한 산화제 후방 플로팅 링에 의한 강한 압력섭동이 발생하였고 이는 산화제펌프 입구 및 출구 압력과 가속도 신호에도 영향을 주는 것을 확인하였다. 터보펌프의 가속도 실효값 계산을 통해 정격 운용 조건에서의 터보펌프는 양호한 진동 성능을 보여주고 있으며 가속도 회전수 성분 중 축계에 영향을 주는 회전수 동기 주파수 성분이 강하게 나타나는 것을 확인하였다.

복합단조 공정을 적용한 Outer Support Ring 개발 (Development of Outer Support Ring using Complex Forging Processes)

  • 본 연구에서는 원웨이 클러치의 핵심 부품인 Outer Support Ring의 복합 단조 공정을 개발하고, 시제품을 제작하여 평가하였다. 기존 공정 즉, 열간 단조와 MCT 가공 공정은 과대한 소재 절삭량과 가공 시간이 길다는 단점이 있다. 이를 극복하고자 열간 단조를 통하여 형상을 구현하고, 냉간 단조를 통하여 정밀한 부품을 성형하였다. 최소한의 가공만을 적용하는 복합 단조 공정을 개발하였다. 상용 소프트웨어인 Deform-3D를 이용하여 단조 해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과를 바탕으로 열간 단조 및 냉간 단조 공정을 설계하였고, 실제 금형 및 시제품을 제작하였다. 제작한 시제품은 경도, 표면 조도, 내부 결함, 단류선 검사 등의 평가를 수행하였다. 평가결과 특이한 문제점은 발견되지 않았으며, 양산적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 복합 단조를 통하여 열간 단조와 MCT 가공 공정 대비 약 27%의 소재를 절감할 수 있었다. 또한 제품 개당 생산 시간은 약 2.15배 단축되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 원가 절감이 가능한 공정 및 금형 설계 기술을 확립하였고, 이를 통하여 관련 자동차 부품 생산에도 긍정적인 효과가 있을 것으로 기대된다.

PTFE 복합재료의 마찰 . 마모 특성에 미치는 첨가제의 영향 (Effects of Additives on the Friction and Wear Properties of PTFE Composites)

  • Recently, PTFE-polyimide composites are being used self-lubricating parts for industrial field. Thus, this study is mainly concerned with friction and wear properties for the piston ring of non-lubricating air compressor which made of PTFE-polyimide composites. The friction and wear test was carried out for the different composition ratio under the atmosphere room temperature and constant load of 7.69N and their friction and wear properties were compared with each other at various sliding speed. Notable results are summarized as follows. PTFE 100% showed that friction coefficient was almost same values at 0.94 and 1.88m/s but the value was decreased at 2.83m/s because the friction temperature is higher than low speed. PTFE 80%-PI 20% showed the lowest mean friction coefficient at 2.83m/s. PTFE 20%-PI 80% showed the highest friction coefficient at 0.94m/s and the value was decreased at high speed but the value is higher than other materials except PTFE 100 %. PI 100% showed the highest friction coefficient at 0.94 and 1.88m/s because adhesive wear mainly occurred that speed. PTFE 100% showed highest specific wear rate on the whole. Specific wear rate of PTFE 80%-PI 20% was almost the same value with PTFE 20%-PI 80%. PI 100% showed the lowest value at high sliding speed because the friction surface was thicken and carbonated by high friction temperature.

소아마비에서 4절 연쇄 장하지보조기 사례연구 (Case Study of 4-Bar Linkage KAFO in Person With Poliomyelitis)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the ring lock type knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) with newly developed 4-bar linkage KAFO on the gait characteristics of persons with poliomyelitis clinically. This 4-bar linkage is the stance control type KAFO which provide the stability during stance phase and knee flexion during swing phase. Two subjects participated in this study voluntarily. We provided the customized 4-bar linkage KAFO then asked the subjects to walk in level surface and stairs under the two different KAFO conditions. The characteristics of gait in the persons with poliomyelitis were evaluated using a 3D motion analysis system and force plate. Additionally 6 minute walk test for physiological cost index were conducted using pulse oximeter to measure the energy consumption. In the results of this study, the differences of 4-bar linkage KAFO compared with ring lock type KAFO are as follows: (1) Walking speed, stride length, and step length on level increased in subjects, (2) The gait symmetry was improved by generated knee flexion and decreased pelvic external rotation on level and stairs walking, (3) Decreased vertical excursion of center of mass and pelvic elevation during swing phase was decreased on level, (4) Knee extension moment, hip flexion moment, hip and knee internal rotation moment of non-braced limb were decreased on level walking, (5) Walking speed in 6-minute walk test was increased and physiological cost index was decreased. These findings indicate that 4-bar linkage KAFO compared with ring lock type KAFO is effective in enhancing pattern, endurance, and energy consumption in level surface and stairs walking.

자동변속기용 유량제어 오일펌프의 회전속도 변화에 따른 성능 해석 (Performance Simulation of Flow Control Oil Pump for Auto Transmission According to Rotating Speed)

  • 본 연구는 자동변속기용 유량제어 오일펌프의 성능을 해석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 유량제어 오일펌프의 해석적 모델을 개발하였으며 회전속도 변화에 따른 토출유량, 구동토크, 캐비테이션 발생량 등의 내부 유동특성을 분석하여 고찰하였다. 해석결과, 회전속도가 높아짐에 따라 캐비테이션 발생율이 증가하였으며 체적효율은 2200 RPM에서 90%이상으로 나타났지만 회전속도가 상승함에 따라 감소하여 5000 RPM에서 81%까지 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 흡입부 초기에 챔버 내 캐비테이션 비율이 20%~30%로 매우 높은 비율을 보였는데 압축에 의해 붕괴 이후의 캐비테이션 비율은 13% 이하로 낮게 형성되었다. 하지만 고속인 5000 RPM에서 17%로 빠른 속도로 발생량이 증가하는 현상도 확인되었다.

전동 휠체어에 탈·부착이 가능한 유성기어 감속기 구동부 설계 (Design of Planetary Gear Reducer Driving part to Possible Disadhesion from Electric Wheelchair)

  • 벨트나 체인을 이용한 감속기는 간단한 장치이긴 하지만 공간을 많이 차지하여 공간상의 제약이 있기 때문에 전동휠체어 구동부에는 부적합하다. 하지만 유성기어형태의 감속기는 동일 축에서 감속이 이루어지기 때문에 부피를 작게 할 수 있어 공간의 제약이 벨트나 체인형태의 감속기보다 덜하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수·전동전환이 가능한 휠체어의 구동부에 대한 연구를 통하여 유성기어형태를 이용한 감속기로 큰 추진력을 얻을 수 있는 구동부를 개발하였다. 그에 따라 감속기에 적용되는 유성기어의 치형을 Kisssoft 프로그램을 이용하여 설계를 진행하였다. 또한 기존 휠체어 바퀴에 적용 가능하도록 구동부의 설계를 진행하였고, 구동부의 수·전동 전환원리 및 작동원리에 대한 메커니즘의 최적화를 진행하였다. 연구내용을 토대로 하나의 선기어와 2개의 유성기어, 하나의 링기어를 갖는 유성기어 형태의 휠체어 감속기 구동부의 최종 설계 및 제작을 진행하였다.
