  • This article examines the connection between 3-derivations and the commutativity of a prime ring R with an involution * that fulfills particular algebraic identities for symmetric and skew symmetric elements. In practice, certain well-known problems, such as the Herstein problem, have been studied in the setting of three derivations in involuted rings.

  • Throughout, R will represent an associative ring with center Z(R). A module X is said to be n-torsionfree, where n is an integer, if nx = 0, $x \in X$ implies x = 0. An additive mapping $D : R \to X$, where X is a left R-module, will be called a Jordan left derivation if $D(a^2) = 2aD(a), a \in R$. M. Bresar and J. Vukman [1] showed that the existence of a nonzero Jordan left derivation of R into X implies R is commutative if X is a 2-torsionfree and 3-torsionfree left R-module.

  • For a ring endomorphism $\alpha$ and an $\alpha$-derivation $\delta$, we introduce ($\alpha$, $\delta$)-skew Armendariz rings which are a generalization of $\alpha$-rigid rings and Armendariz rings, and investigate their properties. A semi prime left Goldie ring is $\alpha$-weak Armendariz if and only if it is $\alpha$-rigid. Moreover, we study on the relationship between the Baerness and p.p. property of a ring R and these of the skew polynomial ring R[x; $\alpha$, $\delta$] in case R is ($\alpha$, $\delta$)-skew Armendariz. As a consequence we obtain a generalization of [11], [14] and [16].

  • We find an equivalent condition of $M_n(R)[x, \delta]$ to be primitive and characterize a special subring P of $M_n(R)$. Also, we find an equivalent condition of $P[x, \delta]$ to be primitive.

  • In [1], Ali and Dar proved the ${\ast}$-version of classical theorem due to Posner [15, Theorem] with involution of the second kind. The main objective of this paper is to improve the above mentioned result without the condition of the second kind involution. Moreover, a related result has been discussed.

  • Let R be a 2-torsionfree prime ring. Our goal in this note is to show that the existence of a nonzero Jordan higher left derivation on R implies R is commutative. This result is used to prove a noncommutative extension of the classical Singer-Wermer theorem in the sense of higher derivations.

  • Let R be an associative unital ring with an endomorphism α and α-derivation δ. The constant products of elements in Ore extension rings, when the coefficient ring is reversible, is investigated. We show that if f(x) = ∑ni=0 aixi and g(x) = ∑mj=0 bjxj be nonzero elements in Ore extension ring R[x; α, δ] such that g(x)f(x) = c ∈ R, then there exist non-zero elements r, a ∈ R such that rf(x) = ac, when R is an (α, δ)-compatible ring which is reversible. Among applications, we give an exact characterization of the unit elements in R[x; α, δ], when the coeficient ring R is (α, δ)-compatible. Furthermore, it is shown that if R is a weakly 2-primal ring which is (α, δ)-compatible, then J(R[x; α, δ]) = N iℓ(R)[x; α, δ]. Some other applications and examples of rings with this property are given, with an emphasis on certain classes of NI rings. As a consequence we obtain generalizations of the many results in the literature. As the final part of the paper we construct examples of rings that explain the limitations of the results obtained and support our main results.

  • Let R be a non-commutative prime ring and I a non-zero left ideal of R. Let U be the left Utumi quotient ring of R and C be the center of U and k, m, n, r fixed positive integers. If there exists a generalized derivation g of R such that $[g(x^m)x^n,\;x^r]_k\;=\;0$ for all x $\in$ I, then there exists a $\in$ U such that g(x) = xa for all x $\in$ R except when $R\;{\cong}\;=M_2$(GF(2)) and I[I, I] = 0.

  • Let n be a fixed positive integer, R be a 2n!-torsion free prime ring and $\mu$, $\nu$ be a pair of generalized derivations on R. If < $\mu^2(x)+\nu(x),\;x^n$ > = 0 for all x $\in$ R, then $\mu$ and $\nu$ are either left multipliers or right multipliers. Let n be a fixed positive integer, R be a noncommutative 2n!-torsion free prime ring with the center $C_R$ and d, g be a pair of derivations on R. If < $d^2(x)+g(x)$, $x^n$ > $\in$ $C_R$ for all x $\in$ R, then d = g = 0. Then we apply these purely algebraic techniques to obtain several range inclusion results of pair of (generalized-)derivations on a Banach algebra.
