This study investigates the optimal conditions for electrogenerated hydrogen peroxide production and the application of the electro-Fenton process using DSA electrodes. The influences of parameters for the hydrogen peroxide generation such as electrode materials, electrolyte concentration, current, pH, air flow rate and electrode distance were investigated using a laboratory scale batch reactor. The relative performance for hydrogen peroxide generation of each of the six electrodes is : Ru-Sn-Ti > Ru-Sn-Sb > Ru > Ir > Pt > Sn-Sb. Optimum NaCl dosage, current and air flow rate were 2.0 g/l, 12.5 A and 2 l/min, respectively. When the pH is low, hydrogen peroxide concentration was high. Electrode distance dos not effect to a hydrogen peroxide generation. A complete color removal was obtained for RhB (200 mg/l) at the 8 min mark of the electro-Fenton process under optimum operation conditions of $Fe^{2+}$ 0.105 g/l and 5.0 A. The electro-Fenton process increased initial reaction and decreased final reaction time. However the effect was not high.
In this research, we synthesized Au/TiO2/graphene composites using ionic surfactants for the exfoliation of graphite layers, directly. In the graphene composite, TiO2 with thin nanosheet shapes was distributed on the graphene surface and Au nanoparticles with less than 10 nm sizes were evenly distributed on the surface of the TiO2 nanosheets. The Au/TiO2/graphene composite was then applied to the photodegradation of various dyes such as methylene blue, methylene orange and rhodamine 6G, and B. Among them, the methylene blue showed the most excellent photodegradation activity (91.6%) while the rhodamine B exhibited 31.0%.
Iron-loaded activated carbon fibers (Fe-ACF) supported titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) photocatalyst (Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$) was synthesized using a sol-gel method. Three different types of Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ were obtained by treatment with different precursor of Fe, and characterized using BET, SEM, XRD and EDX analysis. The photocatalytic activity of Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ was investigated by the degradation of Rhodamine B (Rh.B) solution under UV irradiation. From the experimental results, it was revealed that Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ composites show considerable photocatalytic ability for the removal of Rh.B by comparing non-treated ACF/$TiO_2$ composites. And photo-Fenton reaction with Fe element was incoordinately influenced due to different precursor of Fe. It clearly indicates that Fe-ACF/$TiO_2$ composites prepared using $FeCl_3$ provided the highest photo-Fenton activity, then, which was affected by pH changes on the degradation of Rh.B.

In this study, boron, carbon, nitrogen and fluorine co-doped $TiO_{2}$ photocatalysts using tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TEATFB) have been prepared by different heat treatment temperatures to decrease the band gap. To explore the visible light photocatalytic activity of the novel low‐zband gap $TiO_{2}$ photocatalyst, the removal of two dyes was investigated, namely, acridine orange and rhodamine B. XRD patterns demonstrate that the samples calcined at temperatures up to $800^{\circ}C$ clearly show anatase peaks. The XPS results show that all the doped samples contain N, C, B and F elements and the doped $TiO_{2}$ shows the shift in the band gap transition down to 2.98 eV as UV-DRS results. In these UV-Vis results, photocatalytic activity of the doped $TiO_{2}$ is 1.61 times better than undoped $TiO_{2}$. Specially, excellent photoactivity results were obtained in the case of samples treated at $700^{\circ}C$.
The purpose of this study is to degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB, dye) and N, N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicator of the electro-generation of OH radical) in solution using boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode. The effects of applied current (0.2~1.0 A), electrolyte type (NaCl, KCl, and $Na_2SO_4$) and electrolyte concentration (0.5~3.0 g/L), solution pH (3~11) and air flow rate (0~4 L/min) were evaluated. Experimental results showed that RhB and RNO removal tendencies appeared with the almost similar thing, except of current. Optimum current for RhB degradation was 0.6 A, however, RNO degradations was increased with increase of applied current. The RhB and RNO degradation of Cl type electrolyte were higher than that of the sulfate type. The RhB and RNO degradation were increased with increase of NaCl concentration and optimum NaCl dosage was 2.5 g/L. The RhB and RNO concentrations were not influenced by pH under pH 7. Optimum air flow rate for the oxidants generation and RhB and RNO degradation were 2 L/min. Initial removal rate of electrolysis process was expressed Langmuir - Hinshelwood equation, which is used to express the initial removal rate of UV/$TiO_$2 process.
The feasibility of lecithin as a material for dissolving microneedles to improve skin permeability of drugs and the effect of the composition of lecithin on the mechanical strength, solubility, and skin permeability of rhodamine B (RhB) of the dissolving microneedles were investigated. Dissolving microneedles with needles of uniform shape and size were fabricated with the mold made using the laser-writing technique, simpler and more efficient method compared to the photolithography method, the conventional method to fabricate the microneedle mold. The composition of lecithin in the microneedle affected the mechanical strength and solubility of the needle thus, the mechanical strength of the needle increased as the composition of lecithin in the needle increased, resulting in improving the skin permeability of RhB contained in the microneedles. When comparing the microneedles containing same composition of amylopectin (AP), the skin permeability of RhB of the microneedles containing lecithin was higher. These results indicate that lecithin can be used as a material for dissolving microneedles and the skin permeability of the microneedle could be controlled by changing the composition of lecithin.
The design and development of fluorescent chemosensors have recently been intensively explored for sensitive and specific detection of environmentally and biologically relevant metal ions in aqueous solution and living cells. Herein, we report the photophysical results of rhodamine B based fluorogenic and chromogenic receptor for selective copper detection in the complete organic or mixed aqueous-organic media at neutral pH under ambient condition. The ligand exhibited the remarkable increment in the fluorescence emission and UV-visible absorption signal intensities at 587 and 547 nm, respectively, on induction of copper ion while the ligand solution remain completely silent on addition of varieties of other metal ions.
$Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S/ZnO$ composite photocatalysts were synthesized using the precipitation method and characterized by XRD, UV-vis DRS, PL and FE-SEM. Photocatalytic activities of the materials were evaluated by measuring the degradation of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation. Contrary to ZnO, $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S/ZnO$ materials absorb visible light as well as UV and their absorption intensities in visible region increased with increasing the $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S$ amount. The increment in the $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S$ content in $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S/ZnO$ also leads to reducing the particle size and consequently increasing the specific surface area. $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S/ZnO$ materials with the larger $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S$ content showed the higher activity in the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation. Therefore, the heterojunction effect between $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S$ and ZnO as well as the adsorption capacity seems to give important contributions to the photocatalytic activity of the $Cd_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}S/ZnO$.
