Sparganium coreanum, a barely recognized species in Korea, was rediscovered during a field survey by the authors, who conducted a re-examination of specimens deposited in the Herbarium of the Korea National Arboretum (KH). This species was described initially by H. $L{\acute{e}}veill{\acute{e}}$ from a specimen collected by F. Taquet from Jeju-do (Taquet 2150). Subsequently, however, it was overlooked and unrecognized among South Korean flora. Several populations of S. coreanum were found in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and on Jeju-do, although it has long been recognized as S. erectum owing to certain vegetative morphological characteristics shared between the two species, such as robust stems, a similar plant height, and globose rhizomes. However, it is distinct from S. erectum by the number of female heads on the lowest inflorescence branch and the size and shape of the fruit. In this study, we provide a detailed description, illustrations, and photographs with a revised taxonomic key for identification of Sparganium species in Korea.
This study aims to find ways to improve the statistics education policy in Korea for the future based on the results from examining the high school statistics curricula in Korea and New Zealand. The statistics curriculum in New Zealand was analyzed comparatively with the corresponding contents of the probability and statistics domain in the Korea 2015 revised national mathematics curriculum. The analysis centered around achievement goals and key ideas of each of the two curricula. This comparative analysis provides implications on finding a direction in line with the global trend in the curriculum for statistics education and ultimately for Korea's statistics education for the future.
COVID-19 is an acute infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 that has infected more than 700 million people around the world and left many deaths. In Korea and China, Korean medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine were used to treat COVID-19, and the key element between them was herbal medicine. Clinical guidelines for herbal medicine have been published in Korea and China. In this review, the Korean and Chinese guidelines were compared and analyzed. This review was based on the latest revised clinical guidelines. The Korean guidelines covered all three guidelines published by The Association of Korean Medicine and The KM Professor Council of Internal Medicine of the Respiratory System. The Chinese guideline was published by the China National Health Commission. Based on research trends, a comprehensive comparison was made of the suggested prescriptions for each severity of COVID-19. It is expected that this review will be used as a reference for the treatment of COVID-19 or new infectious diseases in the future.
Significant changes have been made to estimate the punching shear capacity for edge column-slab joints in the latest editions of most current codes. The revised equations account for axial forces as well as moments conveyed to columns from slabs, which have a substantial impact on the punching resistance of such joints. Many key design parameters, such as reinforcement-ratio, concrete strength, size-effect, and critical-section perimeter, were treated differently or even ignored in various code provisions. Consequently, wide ranges of predicted punching shear strength were detected by applying different code formulas. Therefore, it is essential to assess the various current Codes' design-equations. Because of the similarity in estimated outcomes, only the ACI, EC, and SNiP are used in this study to cover a wide range of estimation ranges from highly conservative to unconservative. This paper is devoted to analyzing the techniques in these code provisions, comparing the estimated punching resistance with available experimental data, and finally developing efficient models predicting the punching capacity of edge column-slab connections. 63 samples from past investigations were chosen for validation. To appropriately predict the punching shear, newly updated equations for ACI and SNiP are provided based on nonlinear regression analysis. The proposed equations'results match the experimental data quite well.
The quality of school education is a key element for national education development. An important factor that determines the quality of school education is qualities of teachers who are in responsible for school education in the field. Therefore, it is necessary to hire competent teachers in the teacher appointment exam for the secondary school. This necessity is evident especially for vocational high schools and Meister high schools with the introduction of 2015-revised curriculum based on NCS that separates each three subjects, "Electrical, Electronics Communication" resulting in the change of question mechanism, which requires new designing of assessment and content area. So, this study analyzes curriculum in college of education for "Electrical", "Electronics", "Communication", 2015-revised curriculum based on NCS and the development of standards for teacher qualifications and assessment area and evaluation of teaching ability in the subjects of the teacher appointment exam, "Electrical, Electronics Communication" Engineering" in 2009. The assessment area and content elements of "Electrical", "Electronics", "Communication are extracted from the analyzed results and they are verified by experts' consultation and presented as follows; First, the assessment area and content elements of the "Electrical" subject were designed to evaluate the NCS - based 2015 revised curriculum by presenting the NCS learning module to the evaluation area and content element in the basic subject "Electrical and Electronics Practice". Second, the section of "Electronics" presented the assessment area and content elements applying the Electronic Circuit, basic subject of the NCS and it also added "Electromagnetics", which is the basic part of Electronics in the Application of Electromagnetic waves that could be applied to the assessment. Third, the assessment area and content elements of "Communication" consist of the communication-related practice that is based on "Electrical" and "Electronic", considering the characteristics of "Communication Engineering". In particular, "Electrical and Electronics practice" which adds network construction practice and communication-related practice makes it to be able to evaluate the communication-related practical education.

Even though measurement is an important strand of elementary mathematics education, there has been lack of research in this field. This study analyzed topics related to length and time in a series of mathematics textbooks aligned to 2007 or 2009 revised mathematics curriculum. The analysis was focused on three aspects: (a) overall instructional components of measurement, (b) instructional components specific to the topics of measurement, and (c) key competencies in mathematics. The results of this study showed that many topics dealing with length and time were represented with relation to real-life contexts or other subjects. The meanings of measurement terms and the necessity of calculation were well explained but other aspects still had room for improvement when it comes to the necessity of measurement units, appropriate choice of units, and use of students' common misconceptions. Another noticeable result was that problem solving, communication, and reasoning among key competencies in mathematics have been emphasized in the mathematics textbooks. Based on these results, this study provides textbook writers with implications on what to further consider in dealing with length and time.
Every crime involves a victim and an offender. The offender, from the start of the criminal investigation, is considered as a suspect. After prosecution, he/she becomes the accused, and under consitutional law and criminal procedural law, has the right to enforce the contests of the acts. On the other hand, the victim or his/her family, despite being the person harmed, has very few and comparatively weak rights. To overcome this problem, the Korean criminal justice has recently recognised 'the protection and support of the victim' as a major proposition, and the police as well as the prosecutor's office have been releasing improvement plans for the protection of victims. Setting the above as the background, this thesis deals with the current victim protection acts and discusses the methods to improve them. This study will investigate a more reasonable and effective method of victim support and protection. Currently korea's laws regarding victim protection are not satisfactory, however it is fitting to say that it is certainly an external outline of what it should be. This has been due to the enforcement and creation of 'criminal victim protection' and has acted as a key to more improvements ever since. The purpose of this research is to provide a desirable case of STEAM education utilizing 'Energy and Transportation Technology' unit on the subject of technology home economics. The middle school students learned with the integrated approach based on STEAM integrated education, and through production process they had the opportunity for application and expression in diverse forms. The results of this process to achieve the purpose are as follows. First, as the procedural model to develop STEAM program utilizing 'Energy and Transportation Technology' unit on the subject of technology home economics, the five stages: preparation, development, verification, practice, and evaluation, were presented. The preparation stage was composed of requirement analysis, the selection of program subject, and STEAM program curriculum analysis, the selection and organization of STEAM program lesson. The development stage was composed of the development of lesson plan, multimedia teaching materials, worksheet and worksheet answer key. In the verification stage, the verification of validity by experts was conducted, and in the practice stage, the developed program was applied to the middle school students in the educational field, and in the evaluation stage, based on the evaluations received from learners and teachers, it was revised and supplemented. Second, the STEAM program was developed into the program summary map, lesson plan, multimedia teaching materials, worksheet and worksheet answer, etc., and after the validity was secured through experts' verification, it was revised and supplemented and applied to actual classes. Third, the results of the learners' evaluation of the developed STEAM program showed that the degree of satisfaction with the program was high with the average score of the entire questions being 4.00 on a five-point scale. As the teachers also evaluated the developed STEAM program as very effective, the opinions of learners and teachers were collected and the program was finally improved and completed.
The purpose of this study was to analyze contents of the elementary school textbooks on 'Forest Education' based on the 2015 revised curriculum. This study is designed to determine the status of forest educationrelated content in the curriculum. Thetypesofforesteducationintextbooksweredividedintoanalysis. In addition, the standards of achievement of the curriculum were analyzed into the areas of forest education curriculum to determine the similarities between the curriculum and the achievement of forest education. This study shows that, first, the field of knowledge in forest education was included in all subjects and grades except mathematics. It noted that the curriculum includes areas of knowledge that directly convey knowledge related to forest education. This showed that the forest education knowledge area is linked to various courses. Second, the types of forest education included in the curriculum appeared differently depending on age. In the lower grades, there was the most information on the tools and sensibilities of forest education, and in the higher grades, the more knowledge and value-related areas were addressed. As the school year increases, so do forest education levels. Third, when analyzing the achievement criteria in the curriculum, the curriculum achievement criteria included key points in forest education. Thus, this study confirmed the link between the curriculum and forest education.

This study attempted to analyze the achievement criteria of the 2015 special curriculum middle school physical education curriculum based on Bloom's new education goal taxonomy. To this end, 184 sentences based on the common curriculum and basic curriculum achievement standards of the relevant curriculum were analyzed into a total of 24 combinations of 4 dimensions of Bloom's new education goal taxonomy and 6 dimensions of cognitive courses. The results of the study are as follows. First, in the case of the special curriculum physical education and middle school achievement standards, unlike the analysis of the basic curriculum of elementary schools shown in previous studies, the 'procedural knowledge-applying' combination was the most common, and it was confirmed that there was a hierarchy by school level. In addition, the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes were relatively diverse, confirming the key points of physical education and middle school classes for disabled students. Second, in the case of the common curriculum among the lower curriculum, knowledge and cognitive process dimensions were relatively diverse except for cognitive process dimensions such as 'remember', and higher knowledge and cognitive process dimensions such as 'metacognitive knowledge' and 'creative'. Third, in the case of the basic curriculum among the lower curriculum, the 'procedural knowledge-applying' combination was excessively concentrated at 60.7%, which was analyzed to require improvementsary.
