A Study on Design Scheme of Mesh-Based Survivable WDM Networks (메쉬 기반의 생존성 WDM망의 설계 기법에 관한 연구)

  • A single fiber failure in mesh-based WDM networks may result in the loss of a large number of data. To remedy this problem, an efficient restoration algorithm for a single fiber failure in the mesh- based WDM network is necessary. We propose a new algorithm for restoration scheme in WDM networks and compare it with previous schemes. Path restoration and link restoration are two representative restoration schemes which deal with only a single link failure. In this paper, we propose two kinds of efficient restoration scheme. In the proposed schemes the restoration path for each link failure is not secured. The mesh network is decomposed into a number of small loops. In one algorithm, any link failure in a certain loop is regarded as the failure of the loop and the restoration lightpath is selected by detouring the failed loop. In another scheme any link failure in a certain loop is restored within the loop. We compare performance of the proposed schemes with conventional path restoration scheme and link restoration scheme. Simulation results show that CPU time in the proposed schemes decreases compared with that in path restoration scheme and link restoration scheme, although total wavelength mileage usage increases by 10% to 50%.

  • Paper is easily damaged by physical and chemical deterioration under several factors. Damaged paper cultural heritage is usually restored by Lining. A traditional method of Lining is attaching the lining paper behind the original paper cultural heritage using starch and water. It supports the weakened quality of paper. In Japan, paper cultural heritage is restored with "Washi" which is made from mixture of Paper mulberry and Japanese cedar. In the west, the lining paper made from Paper mulberry, which has extraordinary excellent conservativeness, is usually used as a restoration material for paper. But Japanese Washi has dominated the demand for restoration materials as the most preferred restoration paper, and most kinds of paper made from Paper mullbery have been called as 'Japanese paper'. Result showed that the strength of the Korean lining papers was generally higher than that of the Japanese ones. As a result from measuring the rate of dimensional change after water-immersion and drying, sample B of the Korean lining papers and sample E of the Japanese lining papers showed the highest stability.

  • In this paper, a foggy-degraded image restoration technique with a physics-based degradation model is proposed for the measurement system. When the degradation model is used for the image restoration, its parameters and a distance from the spreader to the camera have to be previously known. In the proposed image restoration technique, the parameters are estimated from variances and averages of intensities on two foggy-degraded landmark images taken at different distances. Foggy-degraded images can be restored with the estimated parameters and the distance measured by the measurement system. On the basis of the experimental results, the performance of the proposed foggy-degraded image restoration technique was verified.

  • This paper presents a fast and effective methodology for service restoration in large-scale distribution systems. The service restoration problem is formulated as a constrained optimization problem and requires the fast computation time and superior solution because the more unfaulted out-of-service area should be restored as soon as possible. The proposed methodology is designed to consider the fast computation time and priority service restoration by dijkstra algorithm and fuzzy theory in large-scale distribution systems. Simulation results demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed on a 26-bus and 140-bus system.

  • Fault section isolation and service restoration are very important for function of DAS. In Japan, a progressive protection method is used for the line to ground fault section isolation and service restoration. But the progressive protection method has a drawback that the customer will experience outage time and that the rate in use of the feeder is not over 50%. This paper presents a new Service Restoration Algorithm which is for the line to ground fault section isolation and service restoration method for a ungrounded distribution system. If the proposed algorithm is used, the rate in use of the feeder can improve than before because a distribution system can change multi connection of feeder and the customer's outage time can be reduced. The proposed algorithm has been successfully tested in a distribution system.

  • To secure a service continuity is one of the most important mission in the ower distribution system operation. In this paper the necessary and sufficient condition to guarantee 100% service restoration capability for any fault on the system is reported. An evaluation methodology of the restoration capability(or restorability) is developed based on the developed restoration conditions. Applications of the developed concept to the system operation in the normal and emergency states, that would enhance the supply reliability of the system are described. They include enhancement of restoration capability adapting to load change, identification of best open switch and supervised switch positions.

  • A service restoration is one of the most important missions in distribution system operation. This paper proposes a multi-agent system approach to distribution system restoration. Every relay is developed as an agent by adding its own intelligent, self-tuning and communication ability. Relay agent calculates and corrects its restoration index by itself through communication with neighboring agents and its own intelligence. Case study on the Chinese polluted river and lake restoration under the sponge city construction

  • In order to improve the urban ecological environment, the central government has developed a series of water pollution control policies and measures since April 2015, and required local governments to complete the work of the polluted river and lake restoration within specified period. Moreover, the polluted river and lake restoration has been selected as a key evaluation indicator of achievements of the sponge city construction implemented since April 2015. This paper describes how to apply the sponge city construction technology to rehabilitate the polluted rivers and lakes through the polluted water treatment project in Xinghan New Area, Hanzhong and the polluted Huaguping River restoration project in Pingshan District, Shenzhen. The experience and lessons of the polluted river and lake restoration are summed up. Some measures to solve existing problems are put forward.

  • Paper cultural heritages usually experienced the chemical and the physical deterioration because of various factors including preservation environment and the property of their materials. General restoration technology for paper cultural heritages is the lining. The application of the lining paper and the lining technology has varied depending on researcher's experiences. Therefore, each lining material and technology must be evaluated to develop a standard guide for preservation and restoration of paper cultural heritages. To date, various analysis techniques using lining paper, in terms of their materials, have been applied to analyses of causes and condition of damages, but it is difficult to develop a standard restoration treatment method of paper cultural heritages because it varies by their material. The result have varied depending on the pulping chemical and the manufacturers. the basis weight, thickness and tensale strength of lining papers is bigger the paper treated by natural ash than the paper treated by sodium carbonate.ed case of formation, folding endurance, and dimensave bility, the paper treated by sodium carbonate showed better properties than those of the paper treated by natural ash.
