  • In this study, acryl resin PSA containing hydroxyl group based on 2-EHA (2-ethyl hexyl acrylate), 2-EHMA (2-ethyl hexyl methacrylate), 2-HEA (2-Hydroxy ethyl acrylate), acrylic acid was synthesized and then, isocyanate modified acryl resin PSA prepared with adduct reaction according to the amount of MOI (Methacryloyloxyethyl isocyanate) or 2-isocyanatoethyl methacrylate that can improve the curing property. This research shows that the initial PSA and peel adhesion are decreased according to the increase of the amount of the MOI and isocyanate curing agent. After UV irradiating, the peel adhesion is decreased with increasing the amount of the MOI (Methacryloyloxyethyl isocyanate) and isocyanate curing agent, because of the high curing property.

  • Aminomethyl polystyrene resins were prepared either from chloromethyl-resin(Merrifield resin) or from direct amidoalkylation of polystyrene resin. Two kinds of aminomethlyl resin were lengthened with spacer arms via sequential coupling of five ${\varepsilon}$-aminocaproic acids(ACA) respectively. In case of the resin prepared from the Merrifield resin, the amounts of free amino group of the resin were reduced by 25~30% after each coupling of ACA. But the one from direct amidoalkylation showed 3~5% loss after each coupling of ACA. 4-Nitroso-5-aminopyrazole resin was made by reacting ACA spacer arm resin, which was made from direct amidoalkylated resin, with 5-phenyl-7-methylpyrazole [4,3-c][1,2,4]oxadiazin-3-one. Several polymeric active esters of N-blocked amino acids were prepared from the 4-nitroso-5-aminopyrazole bound resins. In anchoring step of the amino acid derivatives on the resin, no substantial effect of bulkiness was found. 4-Nitroso-5-aminopyrazole bound active ester resins were found to be very reactive in N-acylation, The resulting peptides were obtained with 90~95% yield and characterized by NMR and other physical methods.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical properties of different self-adhesive resin cements and their shear bond strength on dentin and lithium disilicate ceramic and compare these result with that of conventional resin cement. For this study, four self-adhesive resin cements (Rely-X Unicem, Embrace Wetbond, Mexcem, BisCem), one conventional resin cement (Rely-X ARC) and one restorative resin composite (Z-350) were used. In order to evaluate the physical properties, compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and flexural strength were measured. To evaluate the shear bond strength on dentin, each cement was adhered to buccal dentinal surface of extracted human lower molars. Dentin bonding agent was applied after acid etching for groups of Rely-X ARC and Z-350. In order to evaluate the shear bond strength on ceramic, lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS Empress 2) disks were prepared. Only Rely-X ARC and Z-350 groups were pretreated with hydrofluoric acid and silane. And then each resin cement was adhered to ceramic surface in 2 mm diameter. Physical properties and shear bond strengths were measured using a universal testing machine. Results were as follows 1. BisCem showed the lowest compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and flexural strength. (P<0.05) 2. Self-adhesive resin cements showed significantly lower shear bond strength on the dentin and lithium disilicate ceramic than Rely-X ARC and Z-350 (P<0.05) In conclusion, self-adhesive resin cements represent the lower physical properties and shear bond strength than a conventional resin cement.

  • In this study, we experimented that how to synthesis waterborne urethane-epoxy hybrid resin for leather garment coatings. First of all, We had analyzed datas by FT-IR, SEM and TGA for the machanical properties. By instruments analysis measurement we confirmed that synthesis of urethane and epoxy. In this experiment we knew that polyurethane and urethane-epoxy hybrid resin have 4~5 grades of solvent resistance. Tensile strength measured in the urethane-epoxy resin(epoxy 12%, 2.033$kg_f/mm^2$) had the most strong strength than polyurethane(1.833 $kg_f/mm^2$) emulsion samples. Also urethane-epoxy hybrid resin had better result than polyurethane in acid resistance and abrasion test. As hight proportion of epoxy in hybid resin, we obtained low elongation and low flexibility. In this result, the mechanical properties of waterborne polyurethane-epoxy hybrid resin showed that how effect in leather coating by ratio of epoxy emulsion.

  • Recently, many attempts have been made to use hydrogels of various polymers as delivery systems of various drugs and bioactive materials to prolong and control their phamacological activities. In this study, we have evaluated the physico-chemical properties of methacrylic acid-methyacrylic acid methyl ester copolymer 9Eudispert mv)m a acrylic resin hydorgel, and its application to transdermal delivery system. In the dissolution tests, the release rate of salicylic acid (SA) and sodium salicylate (SOd. SA) were faster than lidocain (LD) and lidocain-HCl(LD-HCl). As the concentration of Eudispert mv polymer increased, the extensibility of Eudispert mu hydrogel decreased, whereas the swelling ratio increased. The more NaOH and polymer concentration increased, the more osmotic pressure linearly increased. The skin permeation of Sod. SA, an acidic model drug, was remarkably enhanced by Eudispert mv hydrogel. All fatty acids, except for Sod. glycolate, dramatically increased the skin permeation flux in Eudispert mu hydrogel containing LD-Hcl, a basic model drug. Consequently, it is suggested that Eudispert mv hydrogel may be used as potential transdermal delivery vehicle.

  • A yellow resin (gamboge) from Garcinia hanburyi has been widely used as folk medicine due to its antibacterial and antitumor activities. We isolated four ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibitory compounds from the methanol extract of gamboge. The compounds (1-4) were identified as gambogoic acid (1), moreollic acid (2), gambogic acid (3), and 10-methoxygambogenic acid (4), respectively through spectroscopic data including 2D-NMR and HREIMS. All compounds were examined in the enzyme inhibition assay against ${\alpha}$-glucosidase to identify their inhibitory potencies and kinetic behavior. All compounds (1-4) showed enzyme inhibition against ${\alpha}$-glucosidase, but the activity was significantly affected by the methoxy group on C-10 of ring A and pentenyl pyran moiety of ring D. For example, compound 1 ($IC_{50}=41.4{\mu}M$) bearing pyran ring eight times effective that 4 ($IC_{50}=350.6{\mu}M$) having geranyl group itself. Most active compound was found out to be gambogoic acid (1) which was analyzed most abundant metabolite in gamboge by LC-ESI-MS/MS. In kinetic study, compounds 1 and 2 were proved as noncompetitive inhibitors.

  • We studied on the synthesis of chloromethylated polystyrene as a precursor of optically active polymers for direct resolution of optical isomers. Changing the degree of crosslinking and the kind of crosslinking agents, several polystyrene resin matrices were synthesized. The matrices were chloromethylated with methylal and chlorosulfonic acid as chloromethylating agents. The effects of solvents of various dielectric constants on the chloromethylation were quantitavely examined. We also synthesized chloromethylated polystyrene of macroreticular type that retained large surface area and good physical stability. The differences between the macroreticular type and macroporous type were investigated.

  • Hydroquinone-formaldehyde resin prepared from hydroquinone, formaldehyde and hydrochloric acid as a catalyst was shown to be oxidized with ferric chloride solution and regenerated by stannous chloride solution. The influence of various conditions of preparation on the capacity of oxidation was studied. Results show that the concentration of a solution of hydroquinone has not any effects below 14 parts of water to 1 part of hydroquinone, by the after-heat-treatment for 5-6 hours at 100-120 deg. C. the capacity of oxidation is exhibited a maximum, and decreased as the mole ratio of hydroquinone to formaldehyde increase. The optimum conditions for the preparation of this resin are as follows: hydroquinone 1 part to distilled water 10 parts, mole ratio of formaldehyde 1.2 to hydroquinone 1, and 5 hours of after-heat-treatment at 120 deg. C. The maximum capacity under the above conditions is 13.99 meq/g-ersin.

  • Synthetic resins were combined 1-aza-12-crown-4 macrocyclic ligand with styrene divinylbenzene copolymer having 1%, 2%, 8%, and 16% crosslink by a substitution reaction. These synthetic resins were confirmed by chlorine content, elementary analysis, SEM, surface area, and IR-spectrum. As the results of the effects of pH, crosslink of synthetic resin, and dielectric constant of a solvent on metal ion adsorption for resin adsorbent, the metal ions showed high adsorption at pH 3 or over. Adsorption selectivity for the resin in ethanol solvent was the order of uranium ($UO_2{^{2+}}$) > cobalt ($Co^{2+}$) > dysprosium ($Dy^{3+}$) ion, adsorbability of the metal ion was the crosslink in order of 1%, 2%, 8%, and 16% and it was increased with the lower dielectric constant. In addition, theses metal ions could be separated in the column with 1% crosslink resin by using nitric acid (pH 2.0) as an eluent.
