택지개발 현장 내 비위생매립지의 매립쓰레기 처리방안 연구 (A Novel Treatment Method for the Wastes of Unsanitary Landfill at the Residential Development Site)

  • Characteristic of wastes in a unsanitary landfill at the residential development site in H city, Kyunggi-do was investigated for the disposal of huge amount of wastes. The total amount of wastes was estimated at 117,000 ton and construction solid wastes and municipal solid wastes were detected together. The portion of combustibles was very low and soils, concrete wastes, and pebbles were the major components in landfilled wastes. Because the site was the residential development site, the landfilled wastes should be removed immediately for the construction. Therefore the way that the unsanitary landfill was excavated and the wastes were sorted into three categories such as soils, noncombustibles and combustibles was selected as the best method. Soils and noncombustibles could be recycled and sorted combustibles could be re-landfilled in a smaller area or incinerated.

  • This research was performed to investigate the generation and physico-chemical characteristics of municipal solid wastes. The results were as follows: i) The generation rate and bulk density were 0.157 kg/cap/d and 147.8 g/L in residential zone, respectively. In non-residential zone, the generation and bulk density were 1.71 kg/cap/d and 85.6 g/L, respectively. Consequently, bulk density of non-residential zone was lower than that of residential zone. ii) The wastes consisted of 90% of combustibles and 10% of incombustibles in residential zone. And the wastes from non-residential zone was composed 85% of combustibles and 15% of incombustibles. iii) Water content was estimated at 47~50% in residential zone and restaurants. In non-residential zone, except restaurants, water content was in the range of 10~30%. Ash content was nearly 10% in overall zone.

  • 택지개발사업현장에서 발생하는 대규모 매립쓰레기의 합리적인 처리를 위하여 매립쓰레기를 굴착하여 토사류, 불연물류, 가연물류 등으로 선별하고, 토사류, 불연물류는 현장 재활용하고, 가연물류는 별도 처리하는 방안이 최적 방안으로 제시되었다. 가연물류는 소각하는 것이 일반적인데, 높은 소각비용으로 경제성을 확보하기 위하여 현장압축매립공정이 새로운 대안으로 평가받고 있다. 현장압축매립공정은 일반매립공정보다 좁은 면적에 매립이 가능하며, 소각공정에 비해 경제적인 장점을 가지고 있다.

생활폐기물 성분에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Composition of Solid Waste)

  • Generation of Solid Wastes grew rapidly with the increase of living standard of the people in Korea recently and their composition was more complicate. The weight of Solid wastes generated in Seoul into year of 1979 was about 420 million tons which required 1.5 million $m^2$ of burial land and daily generation for person was 1.6kg. The Composition of more than 80% ash contents was suitable for sanitary landfill but recently ash was decreasing while paper, synthetic materials, glass etc, increasing and alternative method had to be found to dispose the wastes properly. Weight and Composition of Wastes by season and living standard were surveyed for one year from June 1980 to May 1981 in Seoul. Disposal mathods by waste composition was studied. Results were summarized as follows: 1) Each component stored separately at generation point was to be collected and to be reused or disposed by public organization or private company. Some incentives have to be arranged. 2) Wastes collected from household were transfeted to about 420 temporally storing places and transported to two dumping areas by about 700, 4-8 tons trucks which droped litters on the streets. Large dumping lots should constructed along the western coasts and the wastes would be transported through big container trucks or trains to the lots. 3) Ash contents decreased to 40-70% while garbage, synthetic materials, paper increased and they are two to three times in summer of those in winter. Ash in affluent residential areas is less than 50% of whole wastes while that in poor apartment and residential areas is 60-70%. 4) Large dumping places should be constructed along the western coasts which are not far from Seoul because no suitalbe lands are available, and proper leakage protection arrangements should be made.

소규모 도서지역 어촌의 생활계 쓰레기 발생특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Household Wastes from Fishing Village in Small Island)

  • 소규모 섬지역 어촌에서의 생활쓰레기 발생량, 발생특성 및 적정 처리방안을 연구하기 위하여 전라북도 군산시 소재 선유도를 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 조사는 하절기인 8월과 동절기인 12월에 실시하였다. 1인 1일 쓰레기 발생량은 0.65 kg으로 나타나 전국 평균치에 비하여 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 성상별로는 가연성분중 주방쓰레기, 종이류, 비닐 및 플라스틱 순으로 높게 나타났다. 쓰레기의 최종처분방식으로는 원소분석조사 결과 C/N비를 기준으로 볼 때 연평균 40정도로 나타나 퇴비화는 부적절한 것으로 나타났다. 저위발열량은 연평균 1,230 kcal/kg으로 나타나 보조연료의 투입 없이도 자체적인 소각이 가능한 중질폐기물에 해당되는 것으로 나타나 소각이 적절한 처리방안인 것으로 평가되었다. 전체 쓰레기 중 음식물 쓰레기가 차지하는 비율이 전국 평균치보다 상당히 높게 나타나 음식물 쓰레기 처리를 위한 퇴비화, 지렁이 사육시설 보급이 필요한 것으로 나타났으며 음식물 쓰레기를 제외한 쓰레기에 대해서는 소각 처리하는 것이 적절한 것으로 평가되었다. 도서지역 생활쓰레기 적정 처리를 위해서는 효율적인 수거 방안의 확립을 통한 수거효율 증대가 필요한 것으로 평가되었다.

폐기물 관리시설 설계를 위한 재활용성 생활폐기물의 겉보기밀도 평가에 관한 연구 (Estimation of the Bulk Density for Recyclable Residential Wastes)

  • 본 연구에서는 생활폐기물 내 재활용성 물질을 대상으로 선별품목별 겉보기밀도와 조성비로 산정한 혼합폐기물의 겉보기밀도치를 평가함으로써 재활용성 폐기물의 관리 및 시설설계에 활용할 수 있도록 겉보기밀도에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 4회에 걸쳐 선별장에 반입된 1,800 kg의 재활용성 폐기물을 대상으로 선별품목별 중량 및 부피조성비, 선별 전 후의 겉보기밀도를 조사하였다. 선별품목별 겉보기밀도는 병류가 $379.0kg/m^3$로 가장 높았으며, 고철류, 잡쓰레기, 기타, 캔류, 플라스틱류의 순으로 나타났다. 또한 선별품목별 조성비는 중량기준으로는 병류와 플라스틱류가 40.6%, 32.6%를 차지하였으나 부피기준 적용 시 플라스틱류는 60.2%로 대폭 증가하는 반면에 병류는 8.9%로 크게 낮아져 조성비 적용방식에 따라 품목별 조성비의 변동폭이 다르게 나타났다. 또한 재활용성 혼합폐기물의 겉보기밀도는 조성비를 부피기준으로 적용하는 방식이 중량기준 적용방식보다 실측치에 유사하게 나타났다. 이러한 조사결과를 바탕으로 폐기물 처리설비 설계에 사용되는 재활용성 혼합폐기물의 겉보기밀도 산정 시에는 부피기준 조성비를 적용하는 방식이 적절한 것으로 평가되었다.

Determining the reuse of metal mine wastes based on leaching test and human health risk assessment

  • Meeting the regulations based on the short-term leaching tests may not necessarily assure the environmental and human health safety of reusing mine wastes. This study investigated heavy metal leachability of four metal mine waste samples (e.g., Z, Y, H, and M) and human health risk of reusing them as construction materials. The heavy metal leachability did not depend on the total heavy metal contents. For example, the Z sample contained greater amounts of As and Fe than Zn, but the leachates contained only Zn at a detectable level. This can be attributed to the crystalline structure and heavy metal fractions of the mine wastes. The leaching test results suggested that the four mine waste samples are potentially reusable. But the Z and M samples reused in industrial areas imposed carcinogenic risks. This was largely attributed to As that is exposed via dermal contact. The Y and H samples reused in residential areas imposed carcinogenic risk. The major exposure route was the ingestion of crops grown on the mine wastes and Cr was the major concern. The two-stage assessment involving leaching tests and risk assessment can be used to promote safe reuse of mine wastes.

  • 60년대 이후 우리나라에 새로운 주거양식으로 정착된 아파트내 설비의 일부였던 쓰레기 투입구(Dust Chute)는 여러 사회적인 논의를 거쳐 폐쇄되었고, 이제는 신도시에서 조차도 찾아볼 수 없는 낡은 유물이 되고 말았다. 현재는 주택 옥외공간에 별도의 집하장소를 만들어 수거해가는 방식으로 대응하고 있는데, 그럴수밖에 없었던 주된 이유는 분리수거가 제대로 이뤄지지 않은데 기인한 것으로 분석된다. 95년초부터 전국적으로 실시된 쓰레기종량제는 우리나라의 쓰레기 처리 분야에 있어 생활쓰레기의 분리수거 및 재활용을 가능케하는 제도로 자리잡고 있다. 인간들은 또 그린라운드 시대에 걸맞는 주거환경의 질을 추구하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 변화에 대응한 여러 노력이 쓰레기 수거운반 분야에서도 이뤄질 수 있다고 본다. 이미 택지개발 등으로 새로 조성되는 주거단지에는 지역난방시스템과 쓰레기소각장, 공동구 등이 도입 활용되고 있으며, 바로 이들 시설과도 밀접한 연관성이 있는 각국의 쓰레기 수거운반 방식을 비교하고, 선진 각국의 신도시와 주요 대형시설에 도입 활용되고 있는 방식인 관로내 공기를 이용한 쓰레기 수거운반 시스템(Pneumatic Waste Collection System)의 적용사례 및 그의 실용성에 대하여 연구하기로 한다.

주거지역 종세분화에 따른 바람환경 분석 (An Analysis of Wind environment on the Basis of reclassified Zoning)

  • Various environmental problems due to the rapid industralization and urbanization have been worsened as much as to threaten the environmental restitution of globe and become a critical international issue. Korean government presented the green growth as a new state vision for 60 years afterwards and is making efforts to solve the environmental problems. Daegu metropolitan city has faced various environmental problems including overpopulation of cities, traffic pollution, household wastes and green zone problem because of urbanization for the last decades. As such urbanism continues, the quality of residential environment is rapidly deteriorating and the intensive use of land leads to increase of building area raising the temperature of cities. Therefore there have been demands for the healthy, pleasant and satisfying residential environment and the improvement of residential environment and such recognition rises from society in full measure. Nevertheless the current residential complex concentrates only on raising the efficiency of land use. Related laws in the past(Daegu Metropolitan City, Urban Planning Municipal Ordinance as of October 10, 2003) tried to prepare a standard to segmentalize the building-to-land ratio, floor area ratio and regulations of number of floors vertically, but currently it is abolished and the regulations are becoming eased. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the floating wind before and after the vertical segmentation of residential areas(Daegu Metropolitan City, Urban Planning Municipal Ordinance as of October 10, 2003) by using KLAM_21, a model that enables analysing and predicting the flow and generation of clod wind, and to present a plan to improve the quality of residential areas afterwards when developing building lot and re-developing housing areas.
