  • Hydroxyapatite(HAp, Ca$\sub$10/(PO$_4$)$\sub$6/(OH)$_2$, is a compound with structural and chemical resemblance bone mineral and of particular importance in the field of biomaterials. In addition to the non-toxicity and high compatibility with hard and soft tissue, HAp exhibits strong affinity to host hard tissues and protein molecules. However, HAP is difficult to shape in the specific forms due to its hardness and brittleness. (omitted)

  • A criterion is developed for the, selection of the best pairing of the control and manipulated variables and for the interaction analysis of decentralized multi-input multi-output control systems. This criterion is based on the difficulty caused by the interaction terms in finding the in-verse of the block steady gain matrix. A quantitative measure of the best pairing is obtained from the resemblance of a set of independent block multi-loop systems. Several examples show the validity of the pairing criterion.

  • Parabrachiella bera (Yamaguti, 1939) is redescribed based on newly collected material from multicolorfin rainbowfish, Parajulis poecilopterus, landed at Wando fishery port on the southern coast of Korea. Although some differences were observed between the original description and the specimens examined in this study, these differences do not warrant a change in the taxonomic status of this species. Parabrachiella bera bears some resemblance to Parabrachiella incurva Shiino, 1956, but differs from it in details of the trunk and genital processes.

  • The behavior of the 5-phenylhydantoin (5-phenyl-2, 4-imidazolidinedione) ring in the aminomethylation reaction was studied in order to determine the orientation of this substitution. In case of monoaminomethylation, 3-morpholinomethyl-5-phenylhydantoin (or 3-piperidinomethyl-5- phenylhydantoin) was synthesized by the condensation of 5-phenylhydantoin with one mole of morpholine (or piperidine) and one mole of formaldehyde. 1, 3-Dimorpholinomethyl- 5-phenylhydantoin was obtained in the attempted condensation of 5-phenylhydantoin with two moles of morpholine and two moles of formaldehyde. Despite the close resemblance to morpholine the attempted condensation of 5-phenylhydantoin with piperidine and formaldehyde under reflux gave no expected 1, 3-dipiperidinomethyl -5-phenylhydantoin. In case of diaminomethylation using piperidine and formaldehyde, only 3, 5-dipiperidinomethyl-5-phenylhydantoin was formed.

  • The optimization method based on an enhanced genetic algorithms is proposed for multimodal function optimization in this paper This method is consisted of two main steps. The first step is global search step using the genetic algorithm(GA) and function assurance criterion(FAC). The belonging of an population to initial solution group is decided according to the FAC. The second step is to decide resemblance between individuals and research optimum solutions by single point method in reconstructive research space. Two numerical examples are also presented in this paper to comparing with conventional methods.

  • To develope a domestic machinery industry, international competition through reducing cost by increasing productivity is as important as evolving technology and increasing quality. In this study, we have studied in application of GT technology. GT is a skill that acquires high productivity using part's resemblance for multi part and small size production like mass production. We have classified group, such as design, layout and the others, to be applied systematically. The design group includes retrieval for drawings and study for GT design. The layout group includes GT layout, analysis of production process and study for composition method. And others include scheduling, standardization and standard process.

  • Although a generation-related difference in nutrient and food-group intake has been broadly recognized in the Japanese population, few studies have examined the difference and correlation of intakes with consideration of a family line and co-habitation status. We conducted a dietary survey using female college students in dietetic course in Aichi, Japan, and their mothers and grandmothers. A validated self-administered diet history questionnaire was used for assessment of intakes. Data from 110 families were included in the analysis. The means of 13 nutrients and 10 food groups (of the 15 and 14, respectively) showed significant differences among the three generations. A significant difference was observed in the carbohydrate, protein, saturated fatty acid, cholesterol, and fish intakes between the students living with their mothers and those apart. In the correlation analyses between generations, moderate correlation was observed for most nutrients and food groups between the students and their mothers living together (correlation range = 0.30-0.61 for nutrients, and = 0.21 -0.56 for food groups). A wide variation with no consistency was observed for the correlation between the students and their grandmothers (-0.18 -0.59 and -0.33 -0.65, respectively), No meaningful correlation was observed between any two generations living apart. Among the food groups examined, pulses, fish, and vegetables showed relatively large differences for the correlation between two groups with different living conditions. When living together, the correlation coefficients for nutrients and food groups between the students and their mothers decreased according to the increase in frequency of eating out by the students. These results suggest that living together and eating together were an important factor for the resemblance in dietary habits between generations in the population with a marked generation-related difference in intakes. • The objectives of this study were to obtain normative data for 45 mother-daughter pairs on spine, femur(neck, ward's triangle, trochanter) and total body BMD (bone mineral density) measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, anthropometric measurement, body composition, biochemical markers, nutrient intakes and energy expenditure, to determin the interrelations of these factors within each group, to measure familial resemblance for each variable. We observed significantly positive correlations between height, weight, head, hip and calf circumferences, tricep, femur and calf skinfold thickness, total lean body mass(=weight-total fat body mass-bone mineral content), protein and fat intakes, Ca index, serum total protein and albumin of monter-daughter pairs(p<.05-p<.001). Among mothers, age, osteocalcin, higher, weight, Ca and energy intakes were predictors of BMDs. Among daughters, weight and energy intake were predictors of BMDs. The BMD in lumbar spine(r=.48, p<.01), femoral neck(r=.38, p<.05), ward's triangle(r=.36, p<.05) of the mothers were significantly correlated with those of the daughters, after adjustment for mother's age, hight, weight, osteocalcin, Ca and energy intakes and daughter's weight, energy intake. In regression analyses, mother's BMD also were positively associated with daughter's BMD in lumbar spine, femoral neck, ward's triangle. Our findings support that mothers with low BMD tended to have daughters with low BMD. In the age groups studied, as well genetic factors as environmental factors may have an important role in determining BMD. This study suggests that women may successfully enhance their genetically determined BMD through adequate nutrient intakes and weight bearing exercise.

  • The main purpose of this study is to propose the algorithm about the extraction of the facial feature. To achieve the above goal, first of all, this study produces binary image for input color image. It calculates area after pixel labeling by variant block-units. Secondly, by contour following, circumference have been calculated. So the proper degree of resemblance about area, circumference, the proper degree of a circle and shape have been calculated using the value of area and circumference. And Third, the algorithm about the methods of extracting parameters which are about the feature of eyes, nose, and mouse using the proper degree of resemblance, general structures and characteristics(symmetrical distance) in face have been accomplished. And then the feature parameters of the front face have been extracted. In this study, twelve facial feature parameters have been extracted by 297 test images taken from 100 people, and 92.93 % of the extracting rate has been shown.

  • Phototherapy have perpetual history, we can see an instance of it in Yellow Emperor's Conon of Medicine(黃帝內經) and Laser therapy is a field of Phototherapy being used frequently in the latest time. We treated patients with telangiectasia by laser therapy and experimented it's efficacy and studied the means of clinical application in Korean medicine. We report the capabilities of application of laser therapy, based on Korean medical theories by using resemblance between laser therapy with kyung-rak(經絡) control technique in the line that connects with the past.
