  • Project finance ("PF") is a method of raising long-term debt financing based on lending against the cash flow generated by the project alone. Project finance is a nonrecourse or limited recourse financing structure against the sponsors(or the investors). The debt terms in a project finance are not based on the creditor's credit support or on the value of the assets of the project. Lenders rely on the future cash flow to be generated by the project for debt repayment and interest, rather than the value of the project or the credit ratings of the sponsors. The non-recourse or limited recourse financing usually prompt potential project finance lenders to assess carefully all possible risks that might arise in a project to ensure that those risks are mitigated and controlled. In this respect, project finance is a opposite financing method of corporate finance. Project finance has rapidly grown over the last 20 years due to the worldwide process of privatization of public sector and development of natural resources. Global project finance volume reached the record USD 406.5 billion in 2011. In 2012, however, Global project finance volume dropped 6% to USD 382.3 billion. Infrastructure overtook Energy to lead all sectors with USD 113.6 billion. It is generally recognized that there are more and higher risks in project finance compared with corporate finance. Project finance is exposed to commercial risks as well as political risks. The main commercial risks are completion risks, environmental risks, operating risks, input supply risks, revenue risks, etc, and the main political risks are currency convertibility and transfer risks, expropriation risks, war and civil disturbance risks, risks of breach of government concession agreement, etc. Completion risks include permits risks, risks relating to the EPC Contractor, construction cost overrun, delay in completion, inadequate performance on completion, etc.

  • Globalization of consumption, expansion of cross border e-trade, increase use of internet and mobile have led to rapid growth of world e-commerce particularly in Asia and emerging markets. Impacted by Korean wave, online export is continuously increasing, yet Korea is experiencing severe e-commerce trade imbalance. Export growth rate and ratio of Korean small companies are relatively low from OECD member countries. Therefore, Korean government is currently emphasizing on vitalization of online export to China to resolve trade imbalance and to increase export of small companies. To propose detail measures to vitalize online export to China, this study is focused on export customs clearance procedure of Korea and import customs clearance procedure of China in view of online export company. Also suggested countermeasure plan and analysis for the new tax revision plan related to e-commerce which implemented on April 8th 2016. This study have grouped countermeasure plan by short term plan of firms and long term plan of the government. As for the short-term countermeasure plan for firms, first, comparison analysis of tax rate on products is need to decide type of e-commerce strategy; second, if planning to start e-commerce business to China, sales possibility and certification check is necessary; third, through preparation of customs clearance document is needed; last in order to obtain price competitiveness, new logistics strategy and packing development is required. As for the long-term countermeasure plan for the government, I have suggested cooperated bonded logistics service for small businesses and operation plan of show room for promising Korean products.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of a weight reduction program on the body weight, BMI, self-esteem, and self-efficacy of chronic mentally ill persons. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was employed. Participants were 46 chronic mentally ill persons who agreed to participate in this study, and were assigned to an experimental group (n=23) and a control group (n=23). The weight reduction program was modified by the author, based on the Wellness program (Lilly Pharmaceutical Company, 2003), Lee (2007) and Kim (2013). Data analysis with frequency, ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, and t-test was performed using SPSS/Win 18.0 version. Results: The results showed a significant decrease in body weight and BMI and an increase in self-esteem in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The weight reduction program had a positive effect on body weight, BMI, and self-esteem. Evaluation of drug compliance and vocational rehabilitation is recommended for long term effect of the program and conduct of further studies will be required for use of various resources for self-efficacy for inclusion in drug education in a program for improved health outcome.

  • Research has suggested that conventional lightweight concrete can offer durability advantages due to reduced cracking tendency. Although a number of publications exist providing the results of laboratory-based studies on the durability performance of lightweight concrete (with lightweight coarse aggregate) and internally cured concrete (using prewetted lightweight fine aggregate), far fewer field studies of durability performance of conventional lightweight concrete bridge decks in service have been performed. This study was commissioned to provide insight to a highway agency on whether enhanced durability performance, and therefore reduced maintenance and longer lifecycles, could be anticipated from existing lightweight concrete bridge decks that were not intentionally internally cured. To facilitate performance comparison, each lightweight bridge deck selected for inclusion in this study was paired with a companion normalweight bridge deck on a bridge of similar structural type, deck thickness, and geometric configuration, with similar age, traffic, and environmental exposure. The field-observed cracking of the decks was recorded and evaluated, and crack densities for transverse, longitudinal, and pattern cracking of the normalweight and lightweight deck in each pair were compared. Although some trends linking crack prevalence to geographic location, traffic, and age were observed, a distinct difference between the cracking present in the paired lightweight and normalweight bridge decks included in this study was not readily evident. Statistical analysis using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to adjust for age and traffic influence did not indicate that the type of concrete deck (lightweight or normalweight) is a statistically significant factor in the observed cracking. Therefore, for these service environments, lightweight decks did not consistently demonstrate reduced cracking.

  • With the recent advance of IT technology and the change of education paradigm, vocational training has been also evolved. In the background of mobilization of learning, increase of bite-size contents, and the agility of just-in-time learning, this study surveyed the online learners' motivation, perceptions, and learning behaviour. Total 4,021 learners from 6 distance learning institutions revealed that learners take the e-learning courses due to more for their self-development than the company's supports and policy. Also, they perceived the subject matter in contents are the most important. The results from this study suggest that the development of contents should focus on the subject matter that can be utilized for their jobs immediately. Lastly, the study confirms that learning space and time has been changed in the flexible way to use their spare time between work and life. Irregularity of learning and hasty preparations were one of major characteristics in the aspect of learning behaviour.
