A Study on Material Selection of the Carbody Structure of Korean Tilting Train express(TTX) through the Verification of Design Requirements (설계요구조건 검증을 통한 한국형 고속 틸팅열차(TTX)의 차체 재료 선정에 관한 연구)

  • In order to determine the most suitable material system for achieving the lightweight design while fulfilling the design requirements of carbody structures of Korean Tilting Train eXpress(TTX), aluminum carbody. composite carbody, and hybrid carbody combined with aluminum and composite structures were considered in the present study. The finite-element analysis was used to verify the design requirements or the TTX carbody structures with the material system considered in the design stages. The stresses in the carbody structures and deflections of underframe against static load cases were used as design criteria. The results show that the hybrid carbody structures are beneficial with regard to weight savings and structural integrity in comparison to aluminum and composite carbody structures.

  • For the commercialization of the urban maglev, an articulated turnout which consists of several segments of turnout girders and where switching is done by rotating those segments is under development. In this paper, to determine the alignment of this articulated turnout, the requirements for the alignement are analyzed. Requirements include: those for the levitation control and for the ride comfort. For the levitation control, rail joint width should be limited to a certain value, and for the ride comfort, the lateral acceleration and the time derivative of the lateral acceleration satisfy a guideline. According to these requirements, the alignment criteria are discussed.

  • The goal of this paper is to minimize the weight of the T-structure supporting steering system in reducing the vibration level on steering wheel which could be amplified by the resonance. Presently, requirements for reducing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) in automotive area are more stringent than ever. One of them is the vibration of steering system which occurs sometimes at high speeds or when the engine is idling. Besides, the reduction of weight is also one of requirements for improvement of vehicle performance. This paper used the micro genetic algorithm as an optimization method to satisfy above two requirements. The whole T-structure assembly including steering column was used for frequency analysis.

  • This paper represents a study on design hypothesis to improve properties of a product. The functional requirements and function structure of various technical products are analysed. From the above analysis we could formulate one hypothesis. This hypothesis also satisfies basic rules clarity, simplicity and safety that are required in all design cases. The hypothesis says that functional requirements is refined to improve and if there are components which have the same function, they can be integrated into one component and improved. A one-handed faucet was developed by applying the above hypothesis to a two-handed faucet. The design of heat exchange tester was be improved successfully through the hypothesis.

  • This paper proposes acceptance requirements and the corresponding implementation strategy for the near-surface repository of low- and intermediate-level radioactive wastes. The proposed requirements include details on waste classification and radionuclide concentration limitation and inventory analysis. The strategy considers a relevant linking between predisposal waste management, disposal safety assessment and the overall disposal system.

  • Customer satisfaction is an ever-growing concern of management throughout the world. To find the way to increase customer satisfaction. we must understand customer requirements. Kano distinguishes between three types of product requirements(:must-be, one-dimensional, attractive requirements. which influence customer satisfaction in different ways when met. Timko has developed customer satisfaction(CS) coefficient based on Kano model. The CS coefficient is indicative of how strongly a product feature may influence satisfaction. In this paper, we analyzes the factors that influence College Student's Satisfaction of teaching using Kano Model, Timko's CS-Coefficient.

  • As a consequence of the standardization process developing in Europe, on April 2005 the new European standard EN 13749 was issued by the European standardization body CEN. The norm EN 13749 standardizes and develops the requirements already present in UIC leaflets for test verifications and define all technical requirements for the acceptance process in order to achieve a complete satisfactory design of the bogie. The aim of the norm is to define the complete design process of new railway bogies. It includes design procedures, assessment methods, verification and manufacturing quality requirements. In this study, fatigue analysis of the bogie frame is investigated comparing different approaches between conventional methodology and simulation results based on the VPD(Virtual Product Development).

  • In this paper a prototype of Requirement Tracking and Verification System(RTVS) for a Distributed Control System was implemented and tested. The RTVS is a software design and verification tool. The main functions required by the RTVS are managing, tracking and verification of the software requirements listed in the documentation of the DCS. The analysis of DCS software design procedures and inter(aces with documents were performed to define the user of the RTVS, and the design requirements for RTVS were developed.

  • In railway system, the first step of safety managements is the identification of current safety level. Among many safety indexes, risk concept is the prevailing and most effective one in many developed countries for the safety management. But many requirements such as, accident classification rule, risk levels or broadly acceptable regions, safety cost benefit analysis, VPF, equivalent fatality and failure database are needed for the application of risk concept in railway. Basic requirements for the application of risk concept on railway safety improvements are derived in this study.

  • In this paper, we analyse security threats and security requirements about the designated PC solution which restricts usable PCs that are only an user own PCs or a registered PC for online banking or very important services. Accordingly, causable threats of the designated PC solution are classified a process, a network layer, a software module, and an environment of platform, and we draw security requirements based on analysed security threats. Results of this research are considered utilization of criteria for improving security of the designated PC solution and standards for giving hint of imposition of the designated PC solution.
