The purpose of this research was to investigate how the peer review activity of lab report in the problem-solving experiment effected on the description ability and the quality improvement. The students who were taking the general chemistry experiment course were the subjects for this study. They finished lab reports and received peer review from their peers more than two times. The students who got feedback answered on peer review, revised their reports, and subsequently, completed final reports. The result showed that peer review affected the qualitative improvement of the lab report, specially in the process of 'designing experiment' and 'drawing conclusion and evaluation'. Students could organize their thoughts through writing lab reports. During this process, peer review activities provided the opportunity of self-examination and the way for viewing as objective standpoint. Moreover, the activities established communication fields for exchanging mutual opinions and learning.

As a new academic publication model is attempted to improve the transparency, efficiency, and speed of scientific knowledge production and distribution, the open peer review platform for verification and openness of peer review history is also activated. Publons is a global platform for tracking, validating, disclosing, and recognizing the peer-reviewed histories of more than 3 million researchers worldwide. This study analyzed the review activities of 579 researchers from domestic universities who are actively reviewing international journals through Publons. As a result of the analysis, first, researchers from domestic universities who actively review international academic journals were found to be in the fields of medicine and electrical and electronics, and in most fields, assistant professors or higher with high WOS indexed research papers are participating. Second, there was a long-tail phenomenon in which a small number of reviewers with extremely high number of review papers existed in all academic fields, and there was no significant difference in the number of review papers and review report length depending on the nationality, academic status, and age of the reviewers. Lastly, although there was a weak correlation between the amount of papers reviewed by reviewers and the number of published papers, it was found that researchers with an extremely large number of reviews do not necessarily produce as many research papers.

School science practical work is often criticized as lacking key elements of authentic science, such as peer argumentation or debate through which social consensus is obtained. The purpose of this paper is to review the recent studies about the argumentation and to explore the conditions and the model of argumentative scientific inquiry, which is specially designed open inquiry in order to facilitate students' peer argumentation. For this purpose, a theoretical discussion for the argumentative scientific inquiry as the way of authentic inquiry in schools was developed. The conditions for argumentative scientific inquiry were found to be the following: multiple arguments, students' own claims, opportunities for oral and written argumentation, equal status of debaters, and community of cooperative competition. For these conditions, the argumentative scientific inquiry was organized into experiment activities and argumentation activities. During argumentation activity, students should be guided to advance written argumentation through writing a group report for peer review and oral argumentation through a critical discussion. Through the argumentation between groups and in group, the students' arguments would be elaborated repeatedly. The feedback from argumentation links experiment activities to argumentation activities. Hence, the whole process of this inquiry model is circular.
IN 1956, Peer presented a very comprehensive account of free fatty tissue transplantation. The use of buccal fat pad had been usually used to reconstruct the perioral defects. The buccal fat pad is a special fatty tissue which is markedly different from subcutaneous fat. And it is a easily accessible fat tissue in oral and maxillofacial region. The buccal fat pad can be used as a free graft or pedicled flap. Recently, buccal fat pad is interested in cosmetic surgery because its' removal for cosmetic purpose has been favorable result. We used the buccal fat as an unlined, pedicled graft for closure of large oroantral fistula. We present a case of report and review of literature.

National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) provides underpinning to boost international and domestic competitiveness in basic science and engineering (S&E) research. In 2012, NRF came up with the idea about implementing koreanized grant funding system and a NRF grant funding mechanism on basic research was applied to General Researcher program. The main components of the mechanism are 1) no final evaluation, instead intensive evaluation for next proposal submission, 2) no paper account report, instead reporting it online, 3) no lengthy final report, instead unloading a brief overview of research achievements. For successful establishment of the NRF grant funding mechanism, the quality and quantity-based quantitative guidelines of research achievement for various research areas are essential. In this study, we suggest 3 quantitative indexes and these quantitative guidelines provides a supplementary tool for researcher's capability review. These guidelines will be also useful to elevate the reliability and objectivity of peer review.
Objectives: There is no systematic review on economic evaluations of telemedicine in Japan, despite over 1000 trials implemented. Our systematic review aims to examine whether Japan's telemedicine is cost-saving or cost-effective, examine the methodological rigorousness of the economic evaluations, and discuss future studies needed to improve telemedicine's financial sustainability. Methods: We searched five databases, including two Japanese databases, to find peer-reviewed articles published between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2014 in English and Japanese that performed economic evaluations of Japan's telemedicine programs. The methodological rigorousness of the economic analyses was assessed with a well-established checklist. We calculated the benefit-to-cost ratio (BCR) when a reviewed study reported related data but did not report the BCR. All cost values were adjusted to 2014 US dollars. Results: Among the 17 articles identified, six studies reported on settings connecting physicians for specialist consultations, and eleven studies on settings connecting healthcare providers and patients at home. There are three cost-benefit analyses and three cost-minimization analyses. The remaining studies measured the benefit of telemedicine only, using medical expenditure saved or users' willingness-to-pay. There was substantial diversity in the methodological rigorousness. Studies on teledermatology and teleradiology indicated a favorable level of economic efficiency. Studies on telehomecare gave mixed results. One cost-benefit analysis on telehomecare indicated a low economic efficiency, partly due to public subsidy rules, e.g., a too short budget period. Conclusions: Overall, telemedicine programs in Japan were indicated to have a favorable level of economic efficiency. However, the scarcity of the economic literature indicates the need for further rigorous economic evaluation studies.
This study aimed to systematically review the literature on the stress reduction of meaning-centered therapy (MCT) studies in Korea and to identify the characteristics of MCT for stress reduction. MCT studies aimed at reducing stress symptoms were searched among peer reviewed journal articles and unpublished dissertations until April, 2020. Two independent researchers assessed the risk of bias and the quality of the report using Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network criteria. As a result of searching with 7 databases, 7 studies were finally selected. Seven MCTs were for all age groups, and 5 studies reported MCT was effective in reducing stress symptoms. Both single and combined type interventions were effective in reducing stress symptom, Researchers used the combined MCT more than single MCT program. The study with no significant effect was related to school test stress. There is a need to develop MCTs suitable for school-age youth with test stress in the future.
Visual literacy, a key element of a design portfolio, is achieved by communicating a consistent visual aesthetic with respect to design elements, design principles and individual style. Yet, students often feel challenged in articulating their personal aesthetic or design philosophy in order to create a unifying design identity within a body of artifacts. This paper shares some best practices on overcoming this challenge through students' engagement in self-reflection and identity formation processes. The implemented innovative strategy in a senior-level portfolio development course for apparel designers involved four different phases: 1) one-on-one meetings to self-reflect on previous design work, 2) selection and revision of artifacts, 3) peer-review and critiques of revised portfolio artifacts, and 4) development of a final ePortfolio to showcase a unified design identity. It was evident that recording students' initial self-reflection in the form of a metacognitive oral report encouraged and motivated identity development in their portfolio. Further, students expressed their satisfaction in the ability to participate in the selection process of artifacts by self-reflecting about what they wanted to highlight about themselves and why. Overall, student outcomes from this strategy exceeded expectations and the portfolios developed were successful in creating a cohesive design identity.
Background : The medical record is a compilation of pertinent facts of a patient's life and health history, including past and present illness and treatment. It is written by the health professionals contributing to that patient's care. And the medical record is the permanent, legal document which must contain sufficient information to identify the patient, justify the diagnosis and treatment, and record the results. As such, it must be accurate and complete. So we try to analyze the medical record especially a kind of incomplete record, loose laboratory reports. Methods: During the one-year period(from January to December 1988), a medical record practitioner examine and analyze the record of laboratory reports at K Hospital in Seoul. A total of 320 loose laboratory reports for 3,818 admitted laboratory reports. And a medical record practitioner and a physician review and analyze the influencing factors for the various reasons of clinical and laboratory aspects. Result: The loose percentage by department is the highest in obstetrics(40.4%) but the highest loose rate is in pediatrics(25.0%). The most of omission is occurred in operation room(80.3%) than OPD(19.7%). The change of diagnosis is according to duration of laboratory and more changable in cancer patient. Conclusion : Regular analysis of the documentation in the medical record so it fulfills its purposes of communicating patient care information. So it serves as evidence of the patient's course of illness and treatment for various legal, reimbursement, and peer evaluation review. And it is very important aspect of quality assurance in medical activities.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the visiting nurses service of a public health center. Data were collectd from the 36 clients who received services from a public health center. In terms of the process evaluation, the tool is composed 4 parts, 27 items such as assessment planning, implementation, and evaluation. It was measured through the health records by 2 peer review. In terms of the outcome evaluation, the level of client satisfaction was measured by self report or interview by 2 supervisor. The result were as follows: 1. 30% of 36 health records showed narsing process was not and out of them, nursing care plann including spectific activities were rarely established or unclear. 2. The lack of systematic data collection' showed and nursing diagnosis was not adressed in health records review. 3. Client satisfaction score was 32, 97, out of maximum score 36. 4. The lack of sufficent objective data, care plan, record of client's health status change, and evaluation was founded therefore quality assurance for visiting nurses service and in-service education are required and the development of standardized record system need.
