A Study on the Structural Relationship between Market Orientation and Performance of CEO's in Small and Medium-sized Companies (중소기업의 최고경영자 특성, 시장지향성 및 성과간의 구조적 관계에 관한 연구)

  • The present study analyzed empirically the structural relationship among characters, market orientation and performance of CEO's in small and medium-sized companies. The analysis showed that market orientation is affected by CEO's characters in the industry. It was also revealed from the analysis that the business performance and technical renovation of small and medium-sized companies rely fairly on their market orientation. These findings are believed to have great significance in the process of creating market orientation by the industry. That is, CEO's will may play a very important role in pursuit of market orientation and, at the same time, may act as a vital factor for small and medium-sized companies to achieve business performance and to realize technical renovation.

  • The grands ensembles, or large-scale high-rise housing projects, are widely regarded as notorious products of postwar French government policy in the area of housing and urban planning. There was a general consensus that the grands ensembles had been a 'failure'. They were perceived as the source of all the ills of the contemporary city, as responsible for a social breakdown stemming from lack of infrastructure, geographical isolation, and monotonous environments. French government embarked on a broad renovation effort in light of the deteriorated condition of grands ensembles in the 1980s, which has been approved as generally 'successful'. This study focusing on French cases allowed me to demonstrate that following qualifications are critically important for successful housing projects: urban contextual continuity, socially mixed community, authentic planning for achieving sense of place, relationship between collective and individual expression, et cetera.

  • When the past architecture is renovated, the important point is to approach from social and historical point of view. In Europe, there are many cultural and architectural hereditaments by backed-up ancient history and are usually happened modernistic applications of these architectures. Specially, when the past architecture is renovated, this study is focused on cases of museum and gallery which the people are approachable by me. I studied how to expressed the durability and to distinguish the design characteristics that is connected with the past from the European cases at modernistic point of time.   • Internationally, Korean people and society are known to be workaholic, however, recently some changes have come with the inauguration of the 5 working-days system as well as the rising of economic power and high level of education. Many people come to enjoy leisure time with various activities. Especially, arts become the subject of concern as a kind of leisure life, and also gallery become a important space. However, the renovation of the gallery space is required Inevitably because many galleries have been located in too formal or fixed building space, and the management of it has not been executed thoroughly. This study aims at the suggestion of the specialized and differentiated renovation plan for gallery as cultural space offering the right notion and information about the arts as well as rest to citizens, also as exhibit space showing the object efficiently.

A Study on the Improvement of Energy Performance in School Buildings (학교건물의 에너지 성능개선에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve of energy performance in school buildings. Many building renovations have mainly focused on commercial buildings and houses, but school buildings have no attention in this field although there are many buildings that show degraded energy performance and there are many old fashioned buildings which need renovation. This study was carried out through the survey, field study, energy simulation and life cycle cost analysis. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: In model building, large amount of heat were lost at the building envelope, such as non-insulated skins, window-sills and window-frame joints. According to the simulation result, about 15% of heating energy is saved by the insulating works compared to pre-renovation condition. Also, LCC analysis revealed to be more effective to select a exteria wall insulation such as a dryvit system.

  • The purpose of this study was 1) to examine the current situation of traditional fashion markets, 2) to compare the perceptions toward remodeling traditional retail markets between retail merchants and consumers, and 3) to provide the new remodeling renovation of traditional fashion retail markets. The study subjects comprised 127 merchants and 128 consumers. Both the merchants and consumers tended to have a negative perception of future fashion traditional markets. Consumers tended to have a higher perception of fashion store service, such as A/S and salesperson's service, than merchants. In addition, there were significant differences in perceptions toward remodeling renovation of traditional markets between retail merchants and consumers. Based on these results, a fashion marketing strategy regarding digital network is suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to renovate a closed school to a artist studio complex applying sustainable principles and methods. Through the case study, the principle and methods of sustainable renovation is investigated and following strategies are extracted as a frame of renovation. First, atrium space with thermal mass using existing wall is proposed as a public gathering space. Second, light shelves for effective lighting and shading device for protecting and allowing sun light is proposed to renovate existing classroom. Third, double skin system is proposed with reflection pool to activate heating and ventilation for passive solar as well as passive cooling. Finally, simulation programs such as energy-10 and Form-Z is used to confirm the validity of the sustainable design.

  • During the rapid economic growth, many buildings have been built unfaithfully. As a result, the buildings have finished their role in 10 years with dangerous structural elements and deteriorative facilities. This study planned to renovate an old independent house as an original and individual interior space which is its advantage. A house is not the place to eat and sleep, but multiple space with various functions, such as shelter, working, rest, and education. The purpose of this study was to make house environment useful and comfortable by understanding such a situation and by predicting future problems.

  • This paper is the hospital planning and design considerations for the hospital expansion, renovation and new construction by the development of medical science during the last ten years, considering the operation policies, architectural provisions and economic conditions of operating department, by the interviews and questionaires for sanitary and medical personnels in hospitals. This study suggest new operation method and its planning guidelines.
