Review of Operation Concept and System Requirements for Shore Remote Control Simulator System for MASS (자율운항선박 육상원격제어 시뮬레이터 시스템 운용개념 및 시스템 요구기능 분석)

  • Maritime autonomous surface ships (MASS) have a high degree of autonomy and operate autonomously along a planned route. However, when necessary, the shore remote control center(SRCC) can directly intervene in ship operations. In this paper, the operation concept of the simulator system, which can be used to educate and train shore remote control officers, responsible for monitoring the operation of autonomous ships on land and remotely controlling them in case of an emergency, is reviewed. The required functions of the simulator system that enables the operation concept are also reviewed. The major parts of the SRCC simulator system are the monitoring station and control station, which simulate the functions of monitoring the operation status of multiple MASS and the functions of the remote operation of MASS in the case of emergency, respectively. Various units to simulate the operation of MASS and traf ic ships and various objects around the MASS are included in the simulator system. The instructor operation station is the central part of the simulator system that integrates and controls the unit systems. Functionally, as conditions under which SRCC is allowed to remotely intervene in the operation of MASS, the emergency situation for remote control (ESRC) has been defined. Moreover, the required functions to cope with these ESRC conditions have been included in the simulator system requirements.

  • In this paper a remote monitoring and control system using SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems is proposed. The local remote system by RS-232 or RS-485 communication code or the wide remote system by modems is used for conventional remote monitoring & control system for UPSs. But recently because of communication cost and long distance the system is changed to remote control systems through internet and information communication network. And serial communication method by RS-232 or RS-485 is used between agent and UPSs. In this study. we designed and developed the system which is able to control UPSs and to monitor errors. statuses and actual values transmitted from UPS through internet.

  • Recently, the development of internet remote control system has been studied lively along with fast growth of internet. In this paper, we proposed the internet-based remote control and monitoring system using java platform. The apache web server that is now used worldwide was constructed for monitoring and controlling of an machine in administrator's web browser. We solved the limitation on security which is the biggest problem of internet control system due to strong security setting in web server. As a result of experiment which is used in the proposed remote internet control system, several time-delay occurred in internet. However, correct control result could be achieved without an error. And this system monitored informations of a RPM, temperature and the other condition in almost real time.

  • The demand of remote control and monitoring for efficiency and applications of LED streetlight is increasing continuously because the demand of LED streetlight was increase last few years. Existing street light remote control system is wired using a power line network. The wireless connection exists, but due to its low data transmission rate, it cannot support specialized applications. It can only support simple control and monitoring. In this paper, we propose a system that uses a IEEE 802.11s wireless mesh network based on WLAN, as a backbone network for remote control and monitoring of the LED street lights along with other specialized applications. Using the wireless mesh network for remote control and monitoring the LED street lights, the same can be used to act like a public Wi-Fi access point. We have designed Wi-Fi integrated LED streetlight controller and implemented our system. We evaluated the performance of our system on a real test bed. Our proposed system is expected to perform the role of a U-city infrastructure by utilizing the wireless mesh network.

  • The research for development of remote monitoring and control systems composed three stages of research categories. At the first stage, we decided the suitable instrumentation devices for interface between H/W systems and waste water treatment facility. And at the second stage, we developed the software package for remote monitoring and data transmission system including data receipt system via wired telephone line. At the final stage we developed local control system for auto-process control of waste water treatment facilities.   • Most of maritime metallic structures are adopted a CP(Cathodic Protection) System for protection of corrosion in advanced country. So, we had been developed a remote corrosion monitoring control system. And we want to know the characteristics of efficiency, reliability, durability and so on. On the view point of it, we have to test in real field. in terms of design, cathodic protection systems, corrosion monitoring systems and optimal corrosion control systems compare to general commercial products. So, these systems have being studied to improve their capability. In this paper, the result of field testing center design of intelligent cathodic protection system including anodes, a real-time wireless remote corrosion monitoring and corrosion control system are described in naval ports.

  • The target of this paper is the development of Web-based monitoring & control system which is for effective and economic management of mold manufacturing process. This system has three module; G-code Control, Monitoring Module and Result analysis module. Also, as the environment of development is based on internet, this system which is possible to the remote site management of manufacturing process works on Web. To be possible to control the manufacturing monitoring by client, each module is made ActiveX control and is based on socket communication. This system makes the foundation which is possible to manage the mold manufacturing process efficiently from remote site by matching real-time monitoring with manufacturing process in factory using G-code control and displaying the result of manufacturing using Ch-CGI.

  • Digital twin has the advantages of quality improvement and cost reduction, so it is widely applied to various industries. In this paper, a method to implement the major technologies of digital twin easily and quickly is presented. These include data management and relay servers, real-time monitoring applications including remote control interfaces, and direct connection protocols for video streaming. In addition, an algorithm for controlling a two-wheeled vehicle with a 2D interface is also proposed. The implemented system performs near real-time synchronization between the real environment and the virtual space. The delay time that occurs in remote control of the vehicle in the real environment was compared with the results of applying the proposed delay time reduction method. In addition, in the case of 2D interface-based control, an algorithm that can guarantee the user experience was implemented and applied to the actual environment and verified through experiments.

  • Based on the rapid development of IT technology and deployment of the Internet through high speed networks, network environments have been changed from office oriented environment based on business industries and public institution even to the interconnection to digital electronics in the home network. Home network based applications are very diverse and the remote monitoring and control areas have been studied. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of real time remote video monitoring system which provide the moving pictures on the web page through the Internet using JMFI. In addition, we present the design of remote light control system based on Zigbee.
