  • The broadcasting system for the customer safety and conveniency is one of the important convenience facilities taking charge of customer guidance, emergency situation broadcasts for the people waiting at the platform, waiting lounge and train approaching broadcasts. To maintain this broadcasting facility local management control system(LMC) is needed. LMC observes operation status of the facility components which is set up at station and the observation results are confirmed through out remote management PC installed in the jurisdiction branch office. The staff only observes and confirms the errors of the electrical power source at broadcasting facility components accordingly the real mechanical troubles are detected by on-the-spot survey. this paper deals with existing broadcasting system only acting as a simple observation function and the research of LMC function extension which controls, monitors and tests broadcasting facility.

  • Recently, interesting of u-city with ubiquitous computing technologies has increased. In this paper, we propose u-service model for urban facility management based on ubiquitous computing technologies. To propose the research purpose, we define business model for the service and u-service model. And, we propose service function, service process, and relationships between participants to give shape to u-service model. First, we present five service functions; remote monitoring, remote control and inquire, state information, field support, and facility history information. And, we propose overall service process and demand-supply relationship between participants.

  • In managing building facilities, spatial information is the basic data for decision making. However, the method of acquiring spatial information is not easy. In many cases, the site and drawings are often different due to changes in facilities and time after construction. In this case, the site data should be scanned to obtain spatial information. The scan data actually contains spatial information, which is a great help in making space related decisions. However, to obtain scan data, an expensive LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) device must be purchased, and special software for processing data obtained from the device must be available.Recently, SLAM (Simultaneous localization and mapping), an advanced map generation technology, has been spreading in the field of robotics. Using SLAM, 3D spatial information can be obtained quickly in real time without a separate matching process. This study develops and tests whether SLAM technology can be used to obtain spatial information for facility management. This draws considerations for developing a SLAM device for real-time remote scanning for facility management. However, this study focuses on the system development method that acquires spatial information necessary for facility management through SLAM technology. To this end, we develop a prototype, analyze the pros and cons, and then suggest considerations for developing a SLAM system.

  • This paper is concerned with data center remote management service for demanding forecasting and reduction of energy usage. More particularly, intelligent server rack, mounted on inside of the data center, collects information about energy usage and temperature per server. Using this information, management platform forecasts energy demand in the future and automatically makes report according green environment raw. By providing the remote management service through remote terminals, users are not tied to a time and place to control device inside the data center. In this way, the data center remote management service enhances operability of the facility.

  • Objective: The aim of this study is ergonomic analysis of tele-operation tasks using modified remote handling devices dedicated to the cell of PRIDE(PyRoprocess Integrated inactive DEmonstration facility) in KAERI(Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute). Background: Tele-operation manipulators of the PRIDE are applied to perform the remote handling and management of pyroprocessing facilities. Generally, these kinds of systems are composed of master-slave system and its peripherals installed along a wall or ceiling of the cell, and the manipulators transmit the user's own motion to grippers directly. However, a user convenience and intuitiveness while operating the manipulators have not been fully considered in research fields. Method: This study tries to analyze the ergonomic performance of remote handling manipulators in the developed cell facility. It was included that the analysis of operator's capability for his/her own motion range of upper arm while manipulating the MSM, considerations of its manipulation margin and related tool modifications to improve the remote handling performance. Conclusion: The test results of several remote handling tasks performed in PRIDE are represented, and adequate operation strategies for the tele-operation system of hot-cell type facilities are proposed. Application: The knowledge represented in this study can be utilized to improve a tele-operation system operated in a large-scale hot-cell system.

  • We consider the development of an integer programming model and algorithm for the ATM switching node location problem. There are two kinds of facilities, hub facilities and remote facilities, with different capacities and installation costs. Each customer needs to be connected to one or more hub facilities via remote facilities, where the hub(remote) facilities need to be installed at the same candidate installation site of hub(remote) facility. We are given a set of customers with each demand requirements, a set of candidate installation sites of facilities, and connection costs between facilities, We need to determine the locations to place facilities, the number of facilities for each selected location, the set of customers who are connected to each installed hub facilities via installed remote facilities with minimum costs, while satisfying demand requirements of each customer. We formulate this problem as a general integer programming problem and solve it to optimality. In this paper, we develop a branch-and-cut algorithm with path variables. In the algorithm, we consider the integer knapsack polytope and derive valid inequalities. Computational experiments show that the algorithm works well in the real world situation. The results of this research can be used to develop optimization algorithms to solve capacitated facility location problems.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new spatial information system called video GIS where video is used for spatial data construction and is integrated with map. We develop a prototype system of video GIS and apply it to roadside facility management. The main functions supported by the suggested system are data collection, coordinate calculation and conversion, data construction, analysis, searching, and browsing. The stereo images and corresponding position data are collected by a vehicle named 4S-Van that has GPS, IMU, and cameras. The 3-D coordinates of the objects in the images, such as road sign, signal lamp, and building, can be calculated and constructed from the collected data. The spatial objects are displayed on both image and map, and can be searched and browsed, which enables visual and realistic browsing and management of spatial objects. Compared to conventional field survey used in roadside facility management, the method enables faster, easier, and more efficient construction of spatial data. The suggested video GIS can be applied not only to roadside facility management but also to many similar projects of central or local governments that are related to GIS.

  • This paper, discusses about the implementation of the remote control LED Lights in elevator facility Since 1990, the elevator dissemination has greatly increasing. Currently in the elevator most of people they can use smart devices anytime or anywhere to view and retrieve the information by using internet. Therefore, in this paper, efficient management of power LED and LED remote control LED lighting fluid, in order to control features and smart devices can be applied to Web services platform and OS-specific proposals. Additionally based on the configured UI technology and programs offered by the present, and the LED lights are offered through the simulation to efficiently manage technology to demonstrate the usefulness.

  • According to the economic growth, many highways are constructed for increasing need of better life style. Especially roads and roadside facilities are used for accident prevention and offering mobility for drivers. For these purpose, roads and roadside facilities should be well maintained and managed. Now, many roads and roadside facilities are constructed in many areas. Because of traditional surveying method requires much time and surveying efforts, we designed and developed mobile mapping system for highway maintenance and management purpose using multi sensors. We tested our mobile mapping system and data management process. Using developed database, road managers can easily check the information of facility conditions, positions, and attributes. We are expecting low cost and efficient road maintenance process by using our system.
