  • Recently, multi client PC technologies that several users can use one set of computer at the same time are being designed to use the surplus computer resource. In general, as the existing PC management system considers only a single client PC that only one user uses a computer, various kinds of complicated problems may be arisen. This paper designs and realizes a remote management system that can monitor and control the information used in the windows based OS multi-client using WMI technology. The proposed system herein uses WMI technology and newly defined client management protocol and provides the monitoring and control functions on individual resource use information of multi-client. As well, it provides a communication function between the server and the client, and locking setting and access control functions.

  • LED lighting control system using unidirectional DMX512 (digital multiplex with 512 pieces of information)) protocol has been the most popular. Nowadays, the user's consumption has been upgrading to the more intelligent system but the upgrading process does not affect the existing infrastructure. There were many researches use the additional communication for the feedback communication way such as WiFi, Controller Area Network (CAN), Power Line Communication (PLC), etc but all researches had inherent disadvantages that created the independent feedback with the existing DMX512 system. Our paper represents the novel method that uses the remote device management (RDM) protocol to associate the additional feedback with existent DMX512 infrastructure in the one system. The data in DMX512 frame sending to the DMX512 client is split and repacked to become the RDM packet. This RDM packet is transferred to the RDM monitor console and the response RDM packet is converted to the DMX512 frame for control DMX512 client devices. This is the closed loop control model which uses the bidirectional convertibility between RDM packet and DMX512 frame. The proposed method not only upgrades the feedback control function for the old DMX512 system without changing the existent infrastructure, but also solves compatible problems between new RDM devices and old DMX512 devices and gives the low cost solution for extending DMX512 universe.

  • This paper describes a development of an network based remote surveillance system using omni-directional mobile robot. the proposed surveillance system can control a mobile robot to move and examines the given place closely while the conventional surveillance system uses a fixed camera. The mobile robot in the proposed system has three omni-directional wheels to move to any given direction freely. We also developed the proposed system as robot services using Microsoft's MSRDS for a user to control the mobile robot and monitor the remote scene captured from the robot. Finally we verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed system by conducting the remote operating the mobile robot and monitoring experiments in a networked environment. We also conducted a color based object detection and motion detection on image sequences acquired from a remote mobile robot in an another PC in a network environment.

  • Home security has become the prime concern for everyone in present scenario. In this work an attempt has been made to develop a home security system which is accessible, affordable and yet effective.The proposed system is based on 'Remote Embedded Control System' (RECS) which works both on the web and gsm platform for authentication and monitoring. This system is therefore cost effective as it relies on existing network infrastructure. As PCA is most popular and efficient algorithm for face recognition, it has been usedin this work. Next to it an interface has been developed for communication purpose in the embedded security system through the ZigBee module. Based on this embedded system, automated control of door movement has been implemented through electromagnetic door lock technology. This helps the users to monitor the real-time activities through web services/SMS. The web service consists of either web browser command or e-mail provision. The system establishes the communication between the system and authenticated user. The e-mail received by the system from the authorized person will monitor and control the real-time operation and door lock. The entire control system is reinforced using ARM1176JZF-S microcontroller and tested for actual use in the home environment. The result shows the experimental verification of the proposed system.

  • The present study presented the implementation of a remote control/supervision system for guard lamps used in public illumination with little endeavor by far for safe management, which makes possible to supervise the state and to control the functions remotely including electric safety elements. Especially, the developed system adopts the measurement algorithm for detecting resistive leakage current(Igr) flowing based on the phase difference checkable for sensing at a monitor, being allowable for monitoring at MMI and transmitter for data transmittance. To verify reliability about the algorithm to accurately detect Igr leakage current, the laboratory-based functional test was performed.

  • In this paper, "The PLC Controlling on Web Browser" is designed and implemented to remote control and to monitor FA system. Protocol bidirectional communication with PLC is written and sotted. Then Administration system sets Web server and JAVA Sevelet Program. The client system located at the monitoring Web browser are a JAVA Sevelet base system, and sends some commands to the server system which guards and controls the PLC system. The commands are delivered to the server system and the driver software exists in the server controls the PLC system directly.

  • A sensor system was developed to measure displacement of civil structure at a long distance. A He-Ne Laser tube and photodiodes ware used for non-contact measurement. This system allows real time vibration displacement measurement of bridges. The measured displacement data is displayed on computer monitor graphically and also in digit. The accuracy of the displacement measurement shows 2mm in vertical vibration. It shows remote inspection of the vibration of long bridges and buildings.

  • We have developed the testing software for KEPCO operators to maintain the small-scale distribution automation system effectively. The testing software is used to monitor the present status, to measure the analog value(voltage, amperage) and to control the switch and FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit) in order to find out a disabled part of the system. And at the stage of inspection of the switch and FRTU, it can screen the inferior one.

  • KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) has been performing the project named PEFP (proton engineering frontier project). PEFP has been performing the project of a high power proton accelerator. Control system for 20 MeV proton accelerating structure has developed. We use the EPICS(Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) tool kit as a foundation of the control system. EPICS is adopted for control systems which have OPI(OPerator Interface) and IOqlnput Output Controller). We have performed the PEPF control system on SUN workstation host computer. In this paper, we present the vacuum monitor, RFQ, and DTL Turbo pump control system.

  • Nowadays, environmental protection is increasingly concerned more than ever before. Therefore, it is prerequisite both to monitor some data and control them on-line for reducing the environmental pollution. In this paper, internet-based 3-dimensional monitoring system which utilizes PCS phones for wireless data communication with server computer is presented and its feasibility is tested by physical installation.
