This paper is devoted to proposing a new approach for damage detection of structures. In this technique, the biconjugate gradient method (BCG) is employed. To remedy the noise effects, a new preconditioning algorithm is applied. The proposed preconditioner matrix significantly reduces the condition number of the system. Moreover, based on the characteristics of the damage vector, a new direct search algorithm is employed to increase the efficiency of the suggested damage detection scheme by reducing the number of unknowns. To corroborate the high efficiency and capability of the presented strategy, it is applied for estimating the severity and location of damage in the well-known 31-member and 52-member trusses. For damage detection of these trusses, the time history responses are measured by a limited number of sensors. The results of numerical examples reveal high accuracy and robustness of the proposed method.

Angelica decursiva Fr. et Sav. (Umbelliferae) has traditionally been used to treat different diseases due to its antitussive, analgesic, and antipyretic activities. It is also a remedy for thick phlegm, asthma, and upper respiratory infections. Recently, the leaf of A. decursiva has been consumed as salad without showing any toxicity. This plant is a rich in different types of coumarin derivatives, including dihydroxanthyletin, psoralen, dihydropsoralen, hydroxycoumarin, and dihydropyran. Its crude extracts and pure constituents possess anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-Alzheimer disease, anti-hypertension, anti-cancer, antioxidant, anthelmintic, preventing cerebral stroke, and neuroprotective activities. This valuable herb needs to be further studied and developed not only to treat these human diseases, but also to improve human health. This review provides an overview of current knowledge of A. decursiva metabolites and their biological activities to prioritize future studies.

An issue of human rights abuse in business emerged as a serious social problem recently not only in Korea, but also worldwide. However, the stipulations in 'UNGPs' and 'OECD Guidelines' do not provide a legally binding dispute settlement mechanism. Under these circumstances, it is very well timed that the Working Group on International Arbitration of Business and Human Rights recently published the Draft Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration, which will be launched in December 2019 as an effective and efficient alternative to mediation or court litigation. This paper examines the purpose, the structure, and the unique features of the Draft Hague Rules, among other provisions, including 1) Inequality of Arms between the Parties, 2) Appointing Authority, 3) Presiding Arbitrator's Qualification, 4) Evidentiary Procedures, 5) Remedy, and 6) Governing Law.

As information and communication technology develops, it brings various benefits to our lives. However, information and communication technology has had various side effects in our lives. Representative side effects include internet addiction, smartphone addiction, copyright violation, personal information infringement, cyber bullying and hacking. Recently, smart phone addiction rate is increasing with the spread of smart devices in Korea. In this study, we analyze the correlation between age group and smartphone addiction. In order to obtain fair and objective results, statistical analysis was performed based on the national statistical data of the National Information Society Agency. The results showed that the infant group and the adult group were correlated with the smartphone addiction rate. In this study, we analyzed the causes of smartphone addiction for different age groups. We also discuss dangers of smartphone addiction for different age groups. In additions, we proposed various ways to prevent and cure smartphone addiction for infants, adults, and senior citizen group. The results of this study are expected to be widely used as a remedy for smartphone addiction and future smartphone addiction research works.

Hot flush (hot flush or facial flush) is the most frequent symptom experienced by women of peri-menopausal age. It may appear on women or even men after surgery or chemotherapy. Hot flush is one of the biggest reason for women to undergo hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It also crucially affects various aspects of life quality such as occupation, social life, daily routine and health awareness. The most effective and fundamental remedy for hot flush is HRT. However, a few women is not responsive to HRT and investigation to elucidate other causes of hot flush is warranted, especially in elderly. The contraindications such as breast cancer mandates other modality of treatment. Variety of treatment for hot flush other than HRT will be discussed herein.

Melanin biosynthesis inhibitors are useful not only for the materials used in cosmetics as skin-whitening agents but also for the remedy of hyperpigmentation. In order to find the new skin-whitening compounds from the natural products. screening of tyrosinase and melanin biosynthesis inhibitory activities in vitro has been carried out. The MeOH extracts and/or fractions of Polygoni multiflori Radix, Dalbergiae odoriferae Lignum. Solnani nigri Herba. Polygoni cuspidati Radix. POlygoni multiflori Ramulus. Salviae Radix showed tyrosinase inhibitory effects. Four methanolic extracts also showed melanin biosynthesis inhibitory effects in B-16 melanoma cell line.

Sopungsungi-won has been used as a traditional medicine for diabetes and it has been proved evidently as a potential remedy for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Both in vivo and in vitro experiments with water extract of Sopungsungi-won have been reported to exhibit anti-diabetic effects in our previous studies. In the present study, we have chosen Rheum undulatum (RU), which is the main component of Sopungsungi-won, to examine its anti-apoptotic effect on pancreatic b-cells, HIT-T15, against oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide (H$_2$O$_2$). The genus Styrax (Styracaceae) is different from other genera of this family due to the production of resinous material, usually secreted when the barks and trunks are injured by sharp objects. This resin, in the past considered a miraculous remedy in several parts of Asia and America, has been used in traditional medicine to treat inflammatory diseases. The CH$_2$Cl$_2$ fraction of Styrax japonica showed significant cytotoxic activities by SRB method against five human tumor cell lines (A549, HCT-15, MES-SA, SK-OV-3, and SK-MEL-2). (omitted)

Education is one of the pillars of sustainable development. For this reason, the discovery of useful information in its process of adaptation to new challenges is treated with care. This paper aims to present the initiation of a process of exploring the data collected from the results obtained by Romanian students at the BBaccalaureate (the Romanian high school graduation) exam, through data mining methods, in order to try an in-depth analysis to find and remedy some of the causes that lead to unsatisfactory results. Specifically, a set of public data was collected from the website of the Ministry of Education, on which several classification methods were tested in order to find the most efficient modeling algorithm. It is the first time that this type of data is subjected to such interests.

Objectives: The purpose of this review is to investigate the latest traditional Chinese medicine clinical studies on pediatric tic disorder with Tuina treatment and propose the directions of future studies and clinical applications. Methods: To obtain data from CNKI, set the field by '中醫學', '中藥', '中西醫結合' and used keywords '抽动障碍', '抽動穢語綜合', '小兒抽动', '兒童抽动' and '推拿', '導引', '按摩', 'Tuina', 'massage' in cross combination way. Results: 12 clinical studies were selected. These studies were analyzed by author & year, subjects, diagnostic criterion, evaluation criterion, syndrome differentiation, treatment period, methods& results, frequent acupoints and assessment of the quality of studies. All of reports achieved effective therapeutic results on the pediatric tic disorder with Tuina treatment. Conclusion: Tuina treatment has a positive effect and are easily accepted by children who have fear and rejection to traditional Korean Medicine such as acupuncture and Herbal remedy. It is also safe and simple to operate. So the Tuina treatment is worthy to disseminate potential for further development in the treatment of pediatric tic disorders.
