Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to measure and compare the thickness-dependent color dimensions of digital light processing (DLP) three-dimensional (3D) printer and conventional interim restorative resin. Methods: Specimens (N=60) were fabricated using either subtractive manufacturing (S group) or DLP 3D printing (D group) material. All milled and 3D-printed specimens were allocated into three different groups (n=10) according to different thicknesses as follows: 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 mm. Color measurements in the CIELab coordinates were made using a spectrophotometer under room light conditions (1,003 lux). The color differences (𝚫E*) between the specimen and control target data were calculated. Data were analyzed using the oneway analysis of variance (ANOVA). Post hoc comparisons were conducted using Tukey's honestly significant difference method (α=0.05 for all tests). Results: The 𝚫L*, 𝚫a*, 𝚫b*, and 𝚫E* values of interim restorative resin produced by DLP 3D printing were obtained in terms of the specimen's thickness increased compared with the increases by subtractive manufacturing. When the thickness was similar, the color difference between subtractive manufacturing and DLP 3D printing was ≥5.5, which is a value required by the dentist for remanufacturing. Conclusion: Color was influenced by the thickness of the interim restorative resin produced by DLP 3D printing.

The use of additive manufacturing processes for the repair and remanufacturing of mechanical parts has attracted considerable attention because of strict environmental regulations. Directed energy deposition (DED) is widely used to retrofit mechanical parts. In this study, finite element analyses (FEAs) were performed to investigate the influence of the substrate phase and inclination angle on the heat transfer characteristics in the vicinity of Hastelloy X regions deposited via DED. FE models that consider the bead size and hatch distance were designed. A volumetric heat source model with a Gaussian distribution in a plane was adopted as the heat flux model for DED. The substrate and the deposited powder were S45C structural steel and Hastelloy X, respectively. Temperature-dependent thermal properties were considered while performing the FEAs. The effects of the substrate phase and inclination angle on the temperature distributions and depth of the heat-affected zone (HAZ) in the vicinity of the deposited regions were examined. Furthermore, the influence of deposition paths on depths of the HAZ were investigated. The results of the analyses were used to determine the suitable phase and inclination angle of the substrate as well as the appropriate deposition path.
In this study, using a wet chemical process, we evaluate the effectiveness of different solution concentrations in removing layers from a solar cell, which is necessary for recovery of high-purity silicon. A 4-step wet etching process is applied to a 6-inch back surface field(BSF) solar cell. The metal electrode is removed in the first and second steps of the process, and the anti-reflection coating(ARC) is removed in the third step. In the fourth step, high purity silicon is recovered by simultaneously removing the emitter and the BSF layer from the solar cell. It is confirmed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy(ICP-MS) and secondary ion mass spectroscopy(SIMS) analyses that the effectiveness of layer removal increases with increasing chemical concentrations. The purity of silicon recovered through the process, using the optimal concentration for each process, is analyzed using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES). In addition, the silicon wafer is recovered through optimum etching conditions for silicon recovery, and the solar cell is remanufactured using this recovered silicon wafer. The efficiency of the remanufactured solar cell is very similar to that of a commercial wafer-based solar cell, and sufficient for use in the PV industry.
While art and culture always actively intervene and send messages to social issues and issues, there are critics who say that the way they show them goes against environmental issues. Therefore, this study compared and analyzed the environment-friendly methods applied to four types of exhibitions held at existing domestic art museums in order to derive environmentally sustainable exhibition content planning and operation plans. By deriving the method commonly applied to the four exhibitions, the wooden temporary walls that are discarded through local remanufacturing, use of waste resources, and prefabricated module walls were minimized. In addition, when printing/publishing, there were methods such as grafting eco-friendly inks and materials or avoiding the production of unnecessary printed matter. Based on these common factors, a plan that can be applied to each stage of exhibition hall construction and construction, printing and publishing, and exhibition hall operation was derived. However, it is necessary to approach more diverse cases in the future, and it is necessary to supplement the points to enhance scientific explanatory power in quantitative terms.

The depletion of resources and waste disposal caused by the continuous development of industry have emphasized the need to reduce consumption and production, recycle and reuse, and the importance of remanufacturing has increased in recent years. The spindle part of the aging planner miller, which is currently being remanufactured, is one of the factors that has the greatest impact on the performance of the machine tool. When designing the spindle part of the spindle shaft, there are considerations such as the configuration size bearing performance of the main shaft, but the diameter of the main shaft, the dangerous speed bearing, and the arrangement that affect the machining accuracy should be basically considered. As such, various studies have been conducted on the design of machine tool spindle spindles, but research on the reverse engineering of existing aging machine tool spindle spindles is poor. Reverse engineering is designing in the direction of improving performance by extracting specifications from already finished products, and first scanning the reverse engineered object through a 3D scanner, 3D modeling is performed based on the collected data, and then the process of deriving improvement plans by reverberating to improve performance by identifying wear and damage conditions is followed. Therefore, in this study, the purpose of this study is to provide data on reverse engineering by deriving improvement plans through optimal design for the bearing position of the aging planar Miller spindle spindle using central composite programming.

With the continuous development of the current industry, the current global environment is in a very serious situation, with resource supply and demand dependent on imports and huge costs for waste disposal due to the depletion of resources and mass generation of industrial waste. Its limitations have already been revealed in many fields, and the importance of re-manufacturing is drawing attention as a countermeasure to these problems. Re-manufacturing aims to recover products that are in the aging and disposal stages, recover to performance close to new products, and re-commercialize them. Among them, most of the machine tools are made of materials such as steel and cast iron with large structures, and raw materials are widely used when producing new products. In addition, since a lot of carbon is generated due to production, it is an object that can obtain a great re-manufacturing effect. Planner millers belonging to large machine tools are one of the machine tool equipment that can greatly reduce resources and energy through re-manufacturing because the structure is very large and the casting is several to tens of tons. Through this machine tool, performance tests and results are derived on the development of re-manufacturing source technology and domestic servo motor and CNC control device.

The commercial $V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2$ catalysts which had been exposed to the off gas from incinerator for a long time were remanufactured by washing with distilled water and arid solution and reimpregnation with catalytic active components($V_2O_5-WO_3$). The catalytic properties and NOx conversion reactivity of those catalysts were examined by analysis equipment and NOx conversion experiment. Under the experimental condition used in this study, the remanufactured catalysts activated by distilled water ultra sonic cleaning, the catalytic activity was recovered in the range of $66{\sim}93%$ of that of the fresh and the maximum activity was showed when the ultra sonic cleaning time was more than 3 minutes. The remanufactured catalysts by acid solution ultra sonic cleaning, the catalytic activity was recovered in the range of $81{\sim}97%$ of that of the fresh catalyst and the maximum catalytic activity was shooed when the pH of the acid solution was 5. The remanufactured catalysts by reimpregnation with $V_2O_5$ and $WO_3$, the catalytic activity was recovered in the range of $87{\sim}100%$ of that of the fresh catalyst. Maximum catalytic activity was showed when the $V_2O_5$ was reimpregnated more than 1.0 wt %. In this case, the catalytic activity was recovered 97% of that of the fresh catalyst especially at the $150^{\circ}C$ of the experimental temperature.

Due to hypodontia, poor oral hygiene, and significantly more prevalent periodontal disease, patients with Down syndrome show higher incidence of edentulism. Oral rehabilitation of such patients is imperative but challenging as high rates of prosthesis failure are reported due to malocclusion, high masticatory force, and parafunctional habits. As CAD/CAM(Computer-Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing) is the recent trend in prosthodontics, this report discusses the application of CAD/CAM in a Down syndrome patient. A 25-year-old patient with Down syndrome was presented to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Yonsei University Dental Hospital for oral examination. 5 maxillary teeth were missing, 3 were fully impacted, and 4 had grade III mobility. The patient underwent general anesthesia for extraction of impacted and mobile teeth, implant surgery, and final impression for prosthesis. Afterwards, CAD/CAM was used to design and manufacture a 10-unit zirconia bridge. However the bridge was fractured after 18 months due to the patient's bruxism and high masticatory force. Final impression taking, bite registration, cast fabrication, cast scanning, and prosthesis designing were not needed as CAD/CAM data remained. Previous CAD/CAM design was used to remanufacture the zirconia bridge. Down syndrome patients have malocclusion, high masticatory force, and parafunctional habits which increase the possibility of prosthesis fracture. CAD/CAM is beneficial for Down syndrome patients as previous digital records can be utilized for prosthesis repair or remake. In detail, application of CAD/CAM in remanufacturing decreases patient's discomfort of impression taking, shortens and simplifies dental laboratory procedures, and reduces clinician's effort of taking detailed final impressions or accurate bite registration. In conclusion, oral rehabilitation using CAD/CAM provides not only satisfactory levels of comfort, stability, and esthetics, but also easier repair or remake compared to conventional prostheses.

The spent RHDS (Residue HydroDeSulfurization) catalyst is deactivated mainly by deposition of various contaminants such as coke, sulfur and vanadium on the surface of catalyst. To eliminate those contaminants, the following remanufacturing process was conducted. The first, heavy oil on the surface of the spent RHDS catalyst was removed by kerosene and dehydrated. The second, the high temperature incineration was carried out to eliminate coke and sulfur components deposited on the surface of spent RHDS catalyst. The third, the excessive quantity of Vanadium deposited on the surface of catalyst was removed by leaching process as follows: ultrasonic agitation was carried out at 50℃, for 10 seconds with 0.5% and 1% oxalic acid solution. The purpose of this process is to find out regenerated RHDS catalyst can be used as SCR catalyst for NOx reduction by controlling the vanadium residual content of the regenerated RHDS catalyst through leaching process. The composition of regenerated RHDS catalyst was analyzed by XRF and the NOx reduction efficiency was also measured by continuous catalytic fixed bed reactor. As the result, regenerated catalyst, with 0.5% oxalic acid, ultrasonic agitation in 10 seconds, showed the most stable NOx reduction efficiency. Also, in comparison with commercial SCR catalyst, the NOx reduction performance of regenerated catalyst was similar to that of commercial SCR catalyst at the temperature 375℃ and higher whereas was lower than commercial SCR catalyst at the temperature range between 200~250℃. Therefore, it was confirmed that the regenerated catalyst as powder form wash coated on the surface of metal corrugated substrate can be used for commercial SCR catalyst.

The recycling rate of recovered paper in Korea is the highest in the world, 92%, but remanufacturing yield is low due to the extremely poor quality of the paper. The poor quality, in turn, influences to the reject amount in deinking process. To increase the yield of old newspaper recycling process, hydrophobic degree of inorganic pigments of deinking stock must be reduced. To determine the hydrophobicity, Pitch Potential Deposit Tester (PDT) was newly designed and applied with respect to the SB latex property of various quality used in Korea; its hydrophobic degree according to Tg, gel content, charge and particle size of latex and optimum designing condition of SB latex. And below are the conclusions: 1. The reason of excessive reject from old newspaper deinking process for total amount of printed ink is loss of inorganic pigments. When lipase, a biochemical catalyst, was applied with the purpose of preventing inorganic pigments loss about more than 70% of total reject weight and promoting hydration of pulp for deinking, deinking process yield of pre flotation secondary stage increased remarkably without any changes of deinking efficiency. 2. Lipase improved deinking stock by cutting ester linkage on surface of hydrophobic materials to promote its hydration. From this, it reached the conclusion that hydration degree of stock exercises significant effect on flotation deinking process yield. 3. Inorganic alkali promotes hydration of deinking stock. But there have been needs for more fundamental measures other than inorganic alkali of promoting hydration for yield improvement. For this, this study intended to find out reasons of chemical properties change on surface of hydrophobic material by change of pH. 4. Pitch Deposit Test (PDT) was performed for understanding principle of why surface of coating flake from OMG is hydrophobic and why it becomes hydrophilic when pH of stock is alkaline. As a result of this test, it is determined that swelling property by change of pH of latex film, which were used as coating adhesive is the reason for hydrophobic change. 5. Hydrophilicity of coating flake increased with hydrophilic pigments. And as more of SB Latex adhesive was used and higher of calcium hardness of stock became, its hydrophilicity decreased. SB Latex adhesive film is reformed by mechanical friction. For having hydrophilicity under neutral pH, strong bruising action such as kneading is required. 6. Because swelling of adhesive film decreases as Tg of SB latex gets lower and mean diameter gets smaller, it shows hydrophobicity under neutral pH. This lowers hydrophilicity of coating flake, which leads to easy elimination with flotation reject on DIP process. Therefore, for improving future flotation yield, it is necessary to develop to use eco-friendly clean SB latex by raising Tg and increasing mean diameter for recycling, and as a result, to reduce excessive loss of coating flake as a reject from deinking process.
