Reliable H Control : A Linlear Matrix Inequality Approach (신뢰성 있는 H 제어 : 선형 행렬 부등식 방법)

  • In this paper we address reliable output feedback control problem for a class of linear systems with actuator/sensor failures. An output feedback control method is proposed which stabilizes the plant and guarantees $H_\inftyt$-norm constraint against all admissible actuator/sensor failures. The controller can be obtainer by solving some LMls that cover all failure cases. Effectiveness of this controller is validated via a numerical example.   • Network-based computing such as cluster computing requires a reliable high-speed transport protocol. TCP is a representative reliable transport protocol on the Internet, which implements many mechanisms, such as flow control, congestion control, and retransmission, for reliable packet delivery. This paper, however, finds out that Myrinet does not incur any packet losses caused by network congestion. In addition, we ascertain that Myrinet supports reliable and ordered packet delivery. Consequently, most of reliable routines implemented in TCP produce unnecessarily additional overheads on Myrinet. In this paper, we show that we can attain the reliability only by flow control on Myrinet and propose a new reliable protocol based on UDP named RUM (Reliable UDP on Myrinet) that performs a flow control. As a result, RUM achieves a higher throughput by 45% than TCP and shows a similar one-way latency to UDP.

  • Reliable multicast data transmission in a 1:N environment needs more sophisticated error control mechanism than that of in 1:1 environment due to ACK implosion and duplicated retransmission. Although there have been many related research on error control in reliable multicast, real implemented protocols are rare. As one of the reliable multicast transport protocols, ECTP is selected as an international standard reliable multicast protocol by ITU-T and ISO and implemented on RedHat 7.2 machine by us. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of the error control mechanism in the respect of throughput and generated control packet numbers with a real implementation code. From the results, it is concluded that the suitable values of error control parameters can be obtained from the local group size and network environments.

  • Cyber-Physical system(CPS) is characterized by collaborating computational elements controlling physical entities. In CPS, human desire to acquire useful information and control devices anytime and anywhere automatically has increased the necessity of a high reliable system. However, the physical world where CPS is deployed has management complexity and maintenance cost of 'CPS', so that it is impossible to make reliable systems. Thus, this paper presents an 'Autonomic Control System towards High-reliable Cyber-Physical Systems' that comprise 8-steps including 'fault analysis', 'fault event analysis', 'fault modeling', 'fault state interpretation', 'fault strategy decision', 'fault detection', 'diagnosis&reasoning' and 'maneuver execution'. Through these activities, we fascinate to design and implement 'Autonomic control system' than before. As a proof of the approach, we used a ISR(Intelligent Service Robot) for case study. The experimental results show that it achieves to detect a fault event for autonomic control of 'CPS'.

  • In Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs), a sensor node broadcasts the acquisited sensing data to neighboring other nodes and it makes serious data duplication problem that increases network traffic loads and data loss. This problem is concerned with the conflict condition for supporting both the reliability of data transfer and avoidance of network congestion. To solve the problem, a reliable congestion control protocol is necessary that considers critical factors affecting on data transfer reliability such as reliable data transmission, wireless loss, and congestion loss for supporting effective congestion control in WSNs. In his paper, we proposes a reliable congestion protocol, called HRCCP, based on hop-hop sequence number, and DSbACK by minimizing useless data transfers as an energy-saved congestion control method.

  • In this paper, we provide a reliable few controller design method for descriptor systems satisfying asymptotic stability with $H_\infty$ norm bound and all actuator failures occurred within the pre-specified subset. The proper condition for the existence of a reliable $H_\infty$ controller and the controller design method are proposed by linear matrix inequality(LMI), Schur complements, and singular value decomposition. All solutions can be obtained simultaneously because the presented sufficient condition can be expressed as an LMI form.

  • This paper is concerned with the reliable $H_{\infty}$ controller design problem for uncertain linear systems against actuator failures. In the design, the $H_{\infty}$ performance of the closed-loop system is optimized during normal operation(without failures) while the system satisfies a prescribed $H_{\infty}$ performance level in the case of actuator failures. Single and parameter-dependent Lyapunov function approaches are applied in designing suboptimal reliable $H_{\infty}$ controllers. Simulation studies are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedures.
